“That comment is a metaphor,” [Aeiramique] Glass told News 3 Now during an interview Wednesday evening. “So many people have used that comment when they're talking about whether it be fighting against injustice when something is wrong, or when something happens.” Glass went on to say that she made the comment while speaking to people who she trusted, who understood her words. “I don't care that they were recording me,” she said. “I was in pain and had just gotten jumped by a lot of officers.”

Democrats are just violent evil people.
It isn't like they are hiding it. They are saying everything out loud now.
“I was in pain and had just gotten jumped by a lot of officers."
Let's see the body cam footage.
"I meant every word I said, you know, except for the actual words I said."
And here it is. Although in this case it appears to be from a drone or other surveillance cam.

She appears competent and well grounded. For Madison perhaps, but it won't fly in my area of PA.
In response to Todd Galle: “Well Grounded?” She sounds like just one more fragile left wing loon. At least she didn’t say that she was “literally trembling.”
Could a sharp rap alongside the head also be called a metaphor for stopping her from burning the city down? I mean it wouldn't actually stop her, more an expression of opposition.
Well… heck. She isn’t very helpful.
CRT or LED?
Reading her discussion of "Getting physical" with the officers is like reading a bad comedy. "Oh, the police yanked someone's arm" "oh, someone pushed me" "Oh someone brushed up agasint me".
Why do so many black people think its their right to fight with the police or not get manhandled when they use physical force or resist arrest? Seriously, Asian dont do it. Whites dont do it. Hispanics rarely do it. Its always blacks.
According to Grok blacks made up 7 percent of Madison. How many blacks are arrested for crimes or resisting arrest? Anyone want to bet me its more than 7 percent?
I'll take any wager at any amount.
meeka glass is a slightly more intelligent althea bernstein
Metaphor, eh? If I lived in Madison, I'd stock up on fire suppression devices.
“According to Grok blacks made up 7 percent of Madison. How many blacks are arrested for crimes or resisting arrest? Anyone want to bet me it’s more than 7 percent?”
What percentage of government sinecures such as “independent police monitor” are held by blacks?
Need to update your tags, Professor.
These are not protesters.
They used molotov cocktails, knives, and assaulted people. These are RIOTERS.
They took part of of a Captiol city hostage.
These are INSURRECTIONists.
Right, KKKak, groomer gadfly, and DInga???
Any excuse to show RAGE and promise HARM.
That's the democrat party.
She's like WAlz' creepy white left wife.
Loves the smell of burning...
Based on the overhead video, she was not assaulted by the police. They blocked her off from the scene of the arrest. One or two officers were involved. The others were engaged with someone violently resisting. So there was no reason for an qualified police monitor, accustomed to arrest scenes, to be so excited as to shout out remarks about burning the city down. Her explanation is a bit thin. But she seems to have the attitude embodied in the immortal words of Oxford great, Jason Ardray: "I thought you'd just believe me."
She should resign.
She didn't do nuffin!
Glass half full..of shit.
Interim Independent Police Monitor Aeiramique Glass spoke publicly after Madison police released drone footage showing a physical confrontation between her and officers during the clearing of the Corey Ruiz encampment.
Glass said she did not go to the hospital after the incident but was still hurt and recovering.
The Wisconsin Professional Police Association said the video raised questions about whether Glass maintained the independence and neutrality required of her position.
Glass said she remained focused on her investigation into Corey Ruiz’s death and other matters despite the confrontation.
“Burn this city down.”
Let’s start with your house.
"Madison’s independent police monitor told News 3 Now that she stands by her words after she was seen on video Tuesday saying she 'will burn this city down.'"
Your tax dollars at work, Madisonians.
It would be nice if certain commenters would cite the bullshit he cuts and pastes.
Unusual that the linked Channel 3000 article never gives her full name, just her last name. Sloppy oversight or purposeful?
Per AI, the City of Madison pays this individual $12,416 a month.
From the linked article "(T)he call for more money comes as the city faces a projected $11 million operating budget gap in 2027. Rhodes-Conway earlier this year asked all city agencies to cut their budgets by 2% and not make requests for new positions or additional funding.
“The city asked everyone to take a racial equity and social justice approach to the budget, I did so by not making any cuts to our budget,” Glass said. “There are so many complaints coming in, and so many people bringing cases to our office, that if we are going to answer the call in an equitable manner, we must have the resources needed.”
Who monitors the monitor?

"Curious George said...
Madison's Independent Police Monitor Aeiramique Glass..."
What a shit hole.
So if a conservative says that Aeiramique Glass should be tortured to death so that she dies screaming, she will understand that it is merely meant metaphorically?
A city hires as black race con artist at an exorbitant salary to hassle its own police force. Another facet of the Jason Arday syndrome. How does this goofball madness persist?
Madison must pay it's police very well. Otherwise who would want the jobs?
I’m reading To The Finland Station. This will get worse before it gets better.
It's a common "metaphor"!
Ah yes, who among us hasn't used the phrase "I will burn this city down" in front of a TV camera?
“…Glass went on to say that she made the comment while speaking to people who she trusted, who understood her words.”
In the same spirit, someone needs to slap that bitch upside the head.
"Protesters say they will burn the city down without police reforms."
"What reforms?"
"Hire an Independent Police Monitor."
"Done. What's the Monitor saying?"
"That she will burn this city down."
Does Madison also have an Office of the Independent Monitor for the Parks and Recreation Dept, Streets Dept, Utilities Dept, etc?
From ChatGPT:
"The Police Civilian Oversight Board recruits, hires, and supervises the Independent Police Monitor."
So- not "independent", then?
"Aeiramique"? OK, time to go. Life is just too short.
