I started going back to mass regularly about a year ago. I was absent for five years after the leadership of the Catholic Church capitulated to the State during COVID. We're supposed to believe in real life miracles, like transubstantiation which take place during the mass, but the Catholic leadership showed little faith against the pressure from COVID zealots. Islamic leaders want peace- by which they mean all the world has submitted to the dictates of Islam. Dar al-Islam are the nations under islamic rule, Dar al-Harb, house of war, is most of the west and Africa, Dar al-Kufr, House of Disbelief, most of the rest of the world, not in direct contact with islamic states, and Dar al-Ahad, House of Treaty. Which is only a temporary state until forces can be built up to conquer it. Does that world classification sound like a desire for peace FOR YOU? Sounds like perpetual conflict to me.
Of course, for Communists- all desire whatever revolution is needed until Communism is achieved. All Communist states have failed or are failing, but that's OK, because that wasn't REAL Communism... But once we have REAL Communism, all will be well and perfect...
I'm certain with a little thought you can come with some other examples where a desire for peace mans warfare and violence are needed until peace is achieved.

Way more liberal than the Catholic church. I'm used to going to church with liberal people. I got stomped by a priest once just for asking if he was a Republican. At my church, the priests are pretty rigid about being non-partisan. Nobody in my church meets with David Axelrod, or other political operatives. My church also makes it a habit to pray for the president by name, regardless of who that is. So we prayed for Barack, we prayed for Donald, we prayed for Joe, and we prayed for Donald again.
