"We've seen it since the 1960s.... Police violence lands on this country in a tinderbox fashion."

"And so what is so important for leaders to do in that circumstance is: to obviously lament the lives lost, pledge an independent transparent investigation, and pledge to... seek justice no matter where it leads.... It strikes me that the exact opposite of that is what has occurred. And  immediately after [Renee Good] was killed, she was called a domestic terrorist, very publicly. There are people who then accuse the cop of murder, very publicly, right off the bat. That is pouring gasoline on this situation, and it's horrific.... This incredible rush to judgment results in fixed positions about complicated matters.... And then... there's this assertion, well, this is completely your fault because... when a federal officer gives you instructions, you abide by them and then you get to keep your life. No, no, no, no. That is not what a free society says. We should respect officers... but it is simply not the case that... your right to your life depends on compliance with federal officials.... It's dangerous to drive away from the police. You should not drive away from the police. But under no circumstances is America a country where the command should be obey the men and women in uniform or your life is forfeit. That's not the standard of the United States of America."

Says David French on the new episode of the Advisory Opinions podcast (transcript and audio at Podscribe).

ADDED: If you are questioning the usage in the phrase "or your life is forfeit," know that C.S. Lewis used in in "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" (full text at Gutenberg):
"Tell you?" said the Witch, her voice growing suddenly shriller. "Tell you what is written on that very Table of Stone which stands beside us? Tell you what is written in letters deep as a spear is long on the trunk of the World Ash Tree? Tell you what is engraved on the sceptre of the Emperor-Beyond-the-Sea? You at least know the magic which the Emperor put into Narnia at the very beginning. You know that every traitor belongs to me as my lawful prey and that for every treachery I have a right to a kill."
"Oh," said Mr. Beaver. "So that's how you came to imagine yourself a Queen—because you were the Emperor's hangman. I see."
"Peace, Beaver," said Aslan, with a very low growl.
"And so," continued the Witch, "that human creature is mine. His life is forfeit to me. His blood is my property."
"Come and take it then," said the Bull with the man's head in a great bellowing voice.

I'm still looking for the one where someone on the left explains why illegal alien murderers and rapists should be allowed to remain in the country.

Calling Good a terrorist is crazy talk.

No, defending her is crazy talk.

She and her partner were live acting role playing as social justice warriors

Bzzt, wrong. They were criminals, illegally obstructing law enforcement.

Having left wing politics doesn't turn your crime into a non-crime

These two ladies reminded me of kids on a playground taunting someone while the teacher is there

Then you are really stupid. They are the bullies attacking other kids, and then crying "he hit me" when someone fights back.
They were no threat until she stepped on the gas

She was a threat every time she acted to box in / trap an ICE agent. As she was doing when they came to finally arrest her

I am not saying the agent is guilty of murder.

Glad you claim to be not quite that stupid

However
Ah, so you ARE a moron

I stand by what I said earlier ICE handled this poorly.

Yes, they should have arrested her the first time she did something

I think they could have convince the ladies to move without aggression.
The females were committing a crime, and needed to be arrested, which is what ICE was finally doing.

There is no "left wing privilege" or "white woman privilege" that allows them to resist arrest and get away with it.

If you can't do the time, don't do the crime.

Do share it again, so we can mock it and you for the piece of shit that you are

So, you piece of human garbage, where are these other convictions counted as crimes committed by illegals?

Well, you certainly do have a "lovely" personality.

Hall County is a sanctuary county? I find that hard to believe. Maybe the chicken processing barons of Hall County have the clout to prevent local and county law enforcement from fucking with their employees.

And of course, as horrible as your anecdote is, as I have pointed out numerous times, the plural of anecdote is not data. According to real data, for every illegal accused of a horrible crime, there are nearly two stories about horrible crimes committed by U.S. citizens.

To claim that illegal aliens are disproportionately prone to crime, flies in the face of reality.

This one, about ten minutes after you initially posted your question. You and Greg will just have to look for it. I am not going to repeat it for your lazy asses.

2025 has seen the largest one year drop in murder and other violent crimes in history so Trump is doing something right.

Also 100% of illegal immigrants are guilty of breaking federal law so by definition they are more prone to committing crimes.

That proof is probably too hard for a retard like you to figure out though.

"I think we are way past the point of credibly believing that ICE is only going after "criminals". Whether you like it or not, non-citizens, here legally or not, are among the most law-abiding demographic in the country.

This is not an answer. Anyone in the country illegally is a criminal by definition. Claiming that they are the most law-abiding demographic is just silly, and has nothing to do with the question of why you think illegal alien murderers and rapists should not be deported.

Freder Frederson said...

Well dumbass (and you too, Achilles) entering the country without legal authorization (or overstaying a visa, etc.) is not a crime, it is a civil violation. Calling everyone here without proper authorization a criminal is like claiming that anyone who has had a parking or speeding ticket is a criminal.

And your original question was regarding "rapists and murderers", so even by your standards, we are not talking about people who have merely violated a civil statute.2025 has seen the largest one year drop in murder and other violent crimes in history so Trump is doing something right.

2025 has seen the largest one year drop in murder and other violent crimes in history so Trump is doing something right.

Crime did indeed drop in 2025 (the most in history is probably an exaggeration), but it has been dropping for the last thirty years or so with a few bumps in the road especially 2020-22. The current trend of decline started in 2023. Flooding cities with National Guard for a few months while cutting proven crime prevention programs is neither sustainable nor likely to change long term trends, either upwards or downwards.

Correlation is not causation.

" entering the country without legal authorization (or overstaying a visa, etc.) is not a crime"

The topic is not overstaying visas, it's entering the country illegally.

Federal law (8 U.S.C. § 1325) makes “improper” or “illegal” entry a criminal offense for someone who enters or attempts to enter between ports of entry, evades inspection, or uses fraud at entry.

And you still haven't explained why you think illegal alien murderers and rapists should not be deported.

bagoh20 said...

There are two kinds of illegal aliens: One type commits crimes at will, because they are criminals by nature and would do it no matter where they are. The other type just wants to commit that one crime to get in, but wants to stay so bad they avoid drawing any attention from authorities, and try not to do crimes, but unfortunately it's impossible to survive once you are here without violating other laws with driving, employment, falsifying documents, etc. You end up doing most things in a manner that is outside the law, and you will never be able to stop as long as you are here.

Every illegal alien has already committed a crime shithead. Just by being here. Every. Single. One.

The rest of your crap doesn't matter.

I would just love for Freder to get up in front of a room full of newly sworn American citizens and tell them they're a bunch of fucking chumps for going through the process legally.

Because that's what he's saying here.

No, Freder, you are wrong

https://uscode.house.gov/view.xhtml?req=granuleid:USC-prelim-title8-section1325&num=0&edition=prelim

§1325. Improper entry by alien
(a) Improper time or place; avoidance of examination or inspection; misrepresentation and concealment of facts

(b) Improper time or place; civil penalties
Any alien who is apprehended while entering (or attempting to enter) the United States at a time or place other than as designated by immigration officers shall be subject to a civil penalty of-
(1) at least $50 and not more than $250 for each such entry (or attempted entry); or
(2) twice the amount specified in paragraph (1) in the case of an alien who has been previously subject to a civil penalty under this subsection.

Civil penalties under this subsection are in addition to, and not in lieu of, any criminal or other civil penalties that may be imposed.

According to real data, for every illegal accused of a horrible crime, there are nearly two stories about horrible crimes committed by U.S. citizens.

So, let's do some math here. We'll go high, and assume 30 million illegals in the US. That means there are more than 10 Americans for each illegal.
Which, according to Freder, means illegal are at least 5x more likely to commit some horrible act than are Americans.

That, right there, says we should get rid of all the illegals.

But there's another thing going here: EVERY single crime committed by an illegal is a crime that didn't need to happen in the US. If they just weren't here, that rape, that murder, wouldn't have happened to that American who was victimized by that illegal.

So you pretty much have to not give a shit about your fellow Americans in order to want those criminal illegals here.

Finally, illegals drive up rents and drive down wages (esp for the economically worse off).

So when the Left is pushing for more illegals, they're doing it to help the rich and hurt the American poor

Mason G said...

This. Plus, illegals commit crimes against other illegals here, as well. Aside from the atrocious victimization, our tax dollars are wasted on cases that shouldn’t have happened.
