Present condition brings out the worst knuckleheads, though - dudes in muscle cars and no idea how to manage traction, individuals in economy cars creeping along, terrified, at 15 mph on essentially bare-but-wet roads with snow at the edges, and a couple dozen highly-frustrated cars and trucks backed up behind them. Then the jeep commandos, driving with conviction of their superior position in the scheme of things, only to learn the limits of icy traction there, too. Sledding still a prime activity though, kids burning a lot of calories everywhere in this area today. Snow is a novelty, especially when it stays over a few days. The method of removal is for arresting officers to call ICE if the criminal is an illegal immigrant. And the agency picks them up at the courthouse. That's how peaceful removals happen.

If you have a state that refuses to do that (Minnesota, for instance), then you are daring the federal government to come in and arrest illegal immigrants, and blaming the feds when the arrest goes badly.

There is also the problem that people on the far left are stridently opposed to voter ID, something that overwhelming numbers of American citizens support. Now people criticize Trump for a rate below that arbitrary former "top" number. Why is employment stubbornly below "achievable" and yet millions of jobs are allegedly unfilled and manufacturers are begging for people to train.

Maybe it's a tacit admission that Obama's tinkering with how unemployment is measured made it so the old U1 number is irrelevant even meaningless just like we told you at the time. Which serendipitously also made it so Biden's "misery index" did not officially exceed Carter's score because the multiple of the fake "unemployed" times the real inflation gave us bogus stats.
