"What we have is Karoline Leavitt's soundbite claiming they are evildoers in America (rapists, murderers, etc.). But isn't there much more to ask in light of the torture that we are revealing?"

"Tom Homan and Stephen Miller don't tend to be shy. I realize we've emailed the DHS spox, but we need to push much harder to get these principals on the record."

Wrote Bari Weiss, in an internal memo justifying her action, noting the failure to "present the administration's argument."

Also at Axios: "Yanked '60 Minutes' episode aired in Canada."

It's easy to find the whole segment on line, but I'm not going to link to it.

“The public knows that Venezuelans have been subjected to horrific treatment in this prison,” Ms. Weiss [told colleagues at the top of a 9 a.m. editorial call], adding that if “60 Minutes” wanted to feature the story, “we simply need to do more.”
That viewpoint found little sympathy within “60 Minutes.” The show’s staff and correspondents convened for a somber Monday afternoon meeting, where the correspondent Scott Pelley expressed frustration at Ms. Weiss’s handling of the situation and raised questions about her management style. He asked why she had weighed in at the last minute after not attending five screenings of the segment as it was being completed.

“It’s not a part-time job,” Mr. Pelley said, according to four people familiar with the discussion who requested anonymity to describe a private exchange.

And that doesn't even count that actual inflation didn't count gas and food prices both of which had double digit inflation over Biden's term.

Then there are housing prices which went up by 25-35% depending on source even though mortgage rates exploded under Biden driving the actual cost to buy a house up around 50%.

But keep on keepin on Chuck.

How the hell does Chuck/Ronald/Kak keep his comments in the right lane? Ronald, the serial killer.

“Horrific” was a poor choice of words and “the public knows” no such thing. Bari is on the right track, but still has a foot in the muck.

Rip van Ward: “If individual crimes are proof that due process should be suspended, then no legal system survives its first failure.” Rip, having slept through the gross breaches of Due Process and other constitutional rights of J6 misdemeanor defendants by Biden DOJ and pet DC judges, wakes long enough to whinge about the treatment of felonious illegal aliens.

We want illegals to believe they might not be treated nicely if caught ICEly. That encourages self-deportation. All the loud complaints are helping, thanks.

“To be fair to Weiss she is doing exactly what she was hired to do - lend an air of credibility to one of the most (justifiably) maligned propaganda arms of the Democrat party via the of pretending to be restoring CBS News to the reporting standards of a news organization.”

Exactly. Why bring in a non-News person to run the News division at CBS? Despite being fairly liberal, Weiss has the reputation for honesty, while most of us here remember the many times that 60 Minutes lied to help Dems or hurt Republicans.
