"Three men have been indicted in alleged Iranian plot to kill President-elect Donald Trump while he campaigned for a second term in office..."

"... according to a criminal complaint filed in the Southern District of New York."

There's nothing to the report other than that 2 of the 3 men are in custody, but there is a comments section, with idiocy I won't quote but you can easily guess.

Doubt. This is all about getting the war with Iran that the neocons want in the worst way. Iran has everything to lose, and little to nothing to gain by opening up assassination of leaders.

If they ever tell us the truth about anything involving geopolitics where the FBI is involved, or the CIA for that matter, it will be the first time.

OK.

We all would like to know more about the FBI's paid Patsy in Butler PA - taken out quickly by the Secret Service. Kid was in a Blackrock ad.
The corporate press are awfully incurious about it.

All we need to do to Iran is stop funding the Supreme Leaders.

And when will we learn anything about the Butler shooter and the golf course guy? The new AG is a critical job. And Wray is out along with the top CIA person. I hope Pompeo goes to CIA

After the 9 year Trump era no one believes ANYTHING that the FBI says. Why would we? J Edgar set it up as a fake police forc that was only a cover up team for DC pols. And it’s branched out to be a Lawfare Force against Americans. Sad,

No! Mike Flynn to CIA. Pompero to Lawn Maintenance.

Pompeo, obviously. (Many of my best jibes get spoiled by typos.)

Pompeo is the guy who convinced Trump not to release the JFK files.

I expect somewhere there's someone with a case of the sads because the Iranians didn't try to kill Kamala.

Just out of curiosity I googled for assassination attempts on Barak Obama. It appears there were somewhere between 8 and 10 attempts publicly identified, several of which lead to arrests but only one where shots were fired somewhat randomly at the White House. Most appear to have not gotten as far as the guy at the golf course.

I really don’t want to speculate about the comments to that article.

I suspect the comments at WaPo sound more like an insurrection.

Convicted? No.

Rabel said...

Why would they leak this while one is purportedly still at large?

And was it an Iranian plot or a plot by Iranians.

One is a crime, the other is an act of war.

The Assassins or the WaPoo commenters?

Althouse writes, "...there is a comments section, with idiocy I won't quote but you can easily guess."

The Democrats seem to attract far more than their fair share of idiots and murderous freaks.

I'm not nearly as concerned about the Iranian hit squad as I am about the over-the-top insanity that is still being fed by the Democrats and the regime media that Trump is an "existential threat...". They're turning an untold number of mentally ill people into homicidal maniacs. Even if they never get to Trump, I can imagine many of them taking it out on some ordinary person they encounter wearing a red hat or some other innocuous symbol that triggers their rage.

Yesterday we heard pious virtue-signaling about peaceful transitions. Today, they're back to encouraging assassinations with their rhetoric.

Gavin Newsom has called a special legislative session to Trump-proof California. Evidently people aren't bailing out of there fast enough to suit him.

While I don't trust much of Federal law enforcement, I can't imagine all local branches in lock-step with the politics at the top. That, and many prosecutors are honest, hard-working people that do take their oath seriously. This may be the result of good work, good evidence, and the actions of those doing their job as intended. Time will tell, and in the coming months, those in administrative positions in D.C. will leave. Some will be running away from criminal charges.

Right, the goal is to fake up an act of war. It's amazing how many powerful people want a war with Iran. Trump had to yank on John Bolton's choke collar to call off a war with Iran over the shutdown of a drone his last term.

Remember the guy in The Princess Bride, the one who advised against a land war in Asia? Well in the story, he was hired to create a war where there was peace. These kinds of people exist.

You really think that HQ would allow this investigation to remain in the hands of agents who are not trusted politically? The way to rise in rank is not by being a great agent, you get notice and rise in power by doing coverups for the power structure. I am sad to say this as an American who loves his country. I didn't always despise the FBI and CIA, but at some point the evidence against them becomes overwhelming.

Shorter FBI: See Mr President-Elect?! See?! We ARE protecting you! Swearsies! Pinky Promise? Not trying to help get you whacked! Heavens no. We're on YOUR side. Why, we're a team! Teammates! Yeah! That's the ticket....

Donald Trump has far more to fear from Democrats and the media than he does from Iran.

He can nuke Iran. Much harder yet to nuke the Democrat Party.

Yet.

Dixcus said...

In 1979, Iran invaded the United States and still holds that land. The US seized their assets worldwide in response.

Joe Biden and Barack Obama have been giving that money back to them to fund the terrorist country. Iran uses that money to attack Israel and of course to send assassins to the United States to murder Barack Obama's political enemies.

Donald Trump should declare both of these men "clear and present dangers to the national security of the United States" and order the United States military to take them out.

Also, Presidents have COMPLETE IMMUNITY for actions taken in office as President.

Dixcus said...

The FBI also acts as a blackmail team to compromise new Senators and Congressmen as a means of coercing them to vote to continue FBI funding.

How many undercover bribe investigations has the FBI done since Abscam?

ZERO

Dixcus said...

And. Embrace the power of "and."

Dixcus said...

Notice how they waited until days AFTER the election to slip this into the news on a Friday?

Massachusetts' renegade governor Maura Healy (D-Lesbian) says she will illegally harbor illegal immigrants and help hide them from the United States Department of Homeland Security.

The timing stinks to high heaven.

The DoD obviously delayed this to avoid giving Trump any more street cred.

The next story is the FBI leaking his Zelensky phone call.

Although most of the people I love live in MA, deporting the illegals from TX and AZ--all or them--to MA would serve her right. And the fools who keep electing these wackos.

Is it rational of me to wonder if this was a plot that involved the FBI since its inception, with a CI sent to infiltrate the group and perhaps motivate or direct their actions? I'd prefer if this idea were not based on past history of the FBI, but we gotta deal with reality here.
