"In a July interview... Rogan called Harris 'the worst'... said he was bothered to see her suddenly viewed as a 'hero' and 'solution,' wondered if she was medicated..."

"... with anti-anxiety medications because of 'disconnected ramblings,' but still said he thinks she will win the presidency because people think she’s a stronger alternative than Trump. In a September interview... Rogan said, 'whoever’s coaching her, whoever’s the puppet master running the strings' is doing a 'f****** amazing job.'..."

From "Trump And Harris May Appear On Joe Rogan’s Podcast—Despite His Harsh Comments About Both" (Forbes).

I'm seeing that Trump is going on Rogan's show and that Harris is "in talks" to go on the show. If the "talks" don't result in an actual appearance on the show, I would expect Rogan to tell us what the Harris people wanted that he refused to give. I trust him to maintain his usual standards, which I believe give him freedom to ask what he wants and deny the guest any power to edit. It's hard to believe Harris's people would submit to that. Even the "talks" feel like desperation. It's risky for her to go on the show, and I believe she is risking having him release his own rant describing the failed talks and crediting Trump for simply going on the show like anyone else.

She's both authentic and original. Wow.

"In talks."

Fuck talks. "Do you want to come on my show or not? Yes or no. There are no talks."

Joe needs to establish that his is bigger than whatever Kamala is packing in her pants. Establish the power balance going in. Joe is the one people want to hear from. Not her. And it's HIS show. Not hers.

If Joe Rogan accedes to ANY of her demands, he loses ALL credibility with me.

"Rogan has often been criticized for the conversations he hosts on his show, which often give a platform to far-right commentators and potentially dangerous conspiracy theorists. He has also been criticized for spreading false information during the Covid-19 pandemic and the vaccine."

LOL. Obey the vaccine Nazis... and don't you dare discuss anything that mighty make a corrupt democratic look bad.

Not once she's president. All the medias will belong to her.

Erickson says the anti-Trump republicans are coming back to Trump, after taking a good look at Kamala.

Yet Harris is now accusing Trump of "hiding" because he told 60 minutes to pound sand. Harris also refused the traditional Time Magazine interview. The Media can't stand the fact that smart phones and social media, especially X are changing the media landscape.

I think it would be great to see Rogan have and in depth conversation with Trump regarding the clot shot.

The best thing about Nazi's is that once they show their hand, they lose all. I will never care about what our nation's public health officials say ever again.

"t's risky for her to go on the show ...". Oh, really? Why is that? Because she is too inarticulate to explain her policies, even if she had any idea what they are?

Dixcus said...

60 Minutes wants Trump on so they can type up some more fake memos and release them right before the election, like Dan Rather did (and he was ONLY fired because WE caught them and FORCED CBSNews into the position where they HAD to fire him, not that they wanted to. It took WEEKS and WEEKS and they had to hire a fake attorney to come in to provide cover.

Nobody who matters cares what CBS does because they are SO bad at it.

The Democrat party cannot win elections unless they are allowed to lie about what they believe and distort the other side's facts. Truth is inimical to Democrat success.

No Republican should appear on any CBS show until they release the full unedited video and transcript from Harris's interview. (They hacked a 5 minute answer Speaker Johnson gave on MTP)

Dixcus said...

Yes. The risk is the same as it's always been: The more people see of her, the more they dislike her. She has Hillary Clinton Syndrome. And Joe Rogan has 20 million viewers (unlike CBS, which has like 220,000). They can let her go on CBS and nobody will see her. The risk is that people actually watch Joe Rogan's podcast.

Dixcus said...

They cannot win unless we allow them to board up the fucking windows again without shooting anyone.

I'd love to see Rogan ask Kamala her position on each of the 33 actions by the Democrats that Bill Ackman said made him switch his decision to Trump. That would definitively identify what her real values are. As well as be very entertaining.

Kamala wouldn’t last 10 mins on joe Rogan. Not because he plays “gotcha”— he doesn’t— but his guests have to be able to converse intelligently on a broad swathe of issues, plus bring the improv comedy. Trump is capable and un afraid of improv. Kamala — well let’s just say there might be a lot of awkward pauses.

Go meathead.

Rogan's honest, and his emotional intelligence is off the charts.

Trump did countless interviews of this sort for decades in New York. He was always funny, blunt, and honest. At least as honest as any real estate developer in NYC.

Meanwhile, it's nice to see Chris Rufo glomming off yet another thing I wrote about long ago -- Harris' dishonest, plagarized, and dull book, Right on Crime, which contradicts every policy she enforced. He has a high profile. I have no profile. So, go for it -- we are both working towards the same policy goals, and unlike him, I work for goals, not personal attention. But I suggest when some pissant is plagarizing while bitching about Harris doing it, that he should maybe learn to use a frigging footnote himself.

Yes. Rogan knows how to ask follow-up questions. Kamala generally seems to have problems answering questions.

She won't do Rogan...unless the Dems feel that they have nothing to lose and want to do a Hail Mary.

Kevin said...

It's hard to believe Harris's people would submit to that.

My theory is they know they're losing and have a choice to make. Either (a) they don't put her on these shows and when she loses she blames her handlers, or (b) they put her on these shows and when she loses her handlers blame her.

They ran through the same choices with Joe. This is the Kamala version of Biden's June debate with Trump.

Joe should open with, "Tell me how you grew up. Was it a middle class family? Did people care about their lawns?"

They certainly CAN win. Here's how...

Eric Holder is central to the plan. Smells bad already!

I'm guessing she wouldn't get the questions ahead of time.
And, she won't get to edit the product.

She'll never do it.

Good point.

Kamala Harris team wants all the questions upfront, in writing, with off-camera teleprompter stage-left behind Rogan. Harris team also insists no questions on her prior drug prosecutions, her relations w/Willie Brown, Montel Williams, Doug or other high profile men, Doug's own past relationship problems (nanny, divorce, face-punch, former office employees' sexual harassment litigation), Biden's mental acuity during his term, Border Czar responsibilities, recently-arriving migrants, etc. Harris teams insists Rogan's questions and concerns focus on Harris' joyful personality and inherent likeability.

Former Illinois resident said...

Rogan mulling Harris team's demands, concerned his response may be found to be sexist.

Joe's a big fan of weed; hopefully he'll ask her about all the people she jailed when she was SF DA.

Poor Joe has to be cautious to keep his audience that now suddenly has dozens of podcast competitors. They are all he has. And like Taylor Swift he doesn’t want to lose his mass audience.

If you want a friend in the mass marketing of media, buy a dog.

Rusty said...

No. Rogan will ask you once. He won't conceed anything. He's had guests who tried to take over or lie their way through an interview. They didn't last long.

Eric said...

I believe that she intends to do a two-hour, no-holds-barred conversation with Joe Rogan. However, if a call comes in to perform an emergency splenectomy, she will have no choice but to cut it short.

Former Illinois resident said...

Rusty, as far as Kamala Harris is concerned, she doesn't think she's some ordinary "guest". As clearly obvious on ALL her puff-ball media-chats thus far, her appearance requirements are quite extensive, sharply enforced, and thoroughly edited afterwards.

Joe Rogan king maker

I think it might be interesting both ways. Rogan's secret in drawing out people, is that he doesn't really ask questions; he makes observations that are interesting, and that prompt further conversation. He's like a couple of 'bros', hanging out in a shop, taking a break from that thing they were working on. Kamala might do surprisingly well in that format, if he can get her talking outside of her campaign personality.

Trump will do better though. He's an actual 'bro', and a natural communicator. His secret: He's interested in you.

Michael Fitzgerald said...

Rogan thinks Bernie Sanders would make a great president, so that's where he's at. Not surprised at all that he's impressed with the Harris campaign.

oldirishpig said...

There is no chance she goes on Rogan’s show. Speaking unscripted for any length of time is beyond her and would prove a bigger disaster than Biden’s debate performance.

Howard (not that Howard) said...

Well, considering her baseline unpopularity, I think you have to be impressed with how well her campaign has propped her up and managed her.

Even the "talks" feel like desperation

As I commented yesterday, we all should take a look at the whole 80s S&L crisis, and what insanely destructive things people did, what insane risks they took, once they knew that their S&Ls were on the road to failure and bankruptcy.

Once Harris loses this, her political career is over.
Nobody on her staff is going to get their next job by saying "I was the person who told her to just lose, don't go on Fox and lose worse".

The campaign is justifiably desperate. Which makes me very happy, because the stupid that comes from that may very well take down a bunch of Dems down ticket
