"And I was concerned if I stayed in the race, that would be the topic — you’d be interviewing me about why did Nancy Pelosi say [something] … and I thought it’d be a real distraction..."

Garbled Joe Biden, quoted in "Biden admits he was pushed out of presidential race, name-drops Pelosi in first interview since exit" (NY Post).

I can't understand what he was trying to say about Pelosi. The Post sums it up this way: "President Biden admitted he was pushed out of the presidential race by Democratic Party elites and specifically name-dropped former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi as one of the perpetrators in his first TV interview since the tectonic news last month."

Specifically... I'd say it's pretty unspecific, but hers is the one name he said. See if you can get more out of it than I did:

Nancy Pelosi is the only one of two people in Washington who can give orders to the President (the other is Mitch McConnell). She has raw power.

Nancy Pelosi has little power. Particularly now. The donors she represents have quite a bit. But then again, they aren't as smart as they think they are, and the sugar high of punting out Biden might not be worth it if Kamablah is the alternative.

I can't wait for the stories that are going to come out in the mainstream media to fully destroy the Delaware mafia around Biden, as soon as the election is over. Nobody wants these sleezebags back anywhere near power.

Joe Biden was threatened. He was told by a group of conspirators that if he did not withdraw from the race, then they would remove him from office via the 25th Amendment. He acceeded to the threat, and that threat was removed. He is now finishing out his term.

This was a coup. A felony crime. And the conspirators, one would hope, will be arrested by the Attorney General appointed by Donald J. Trump in January of 2024.

In another clip he tried to say (I think) that there will be violence if Trump doesn't win. He's right. If the Dems steal another election and that idiot Harris is declared the winner, there might be violence. But there will be violence for sure if Harris wins. The "blackshirts" of the Dem party (BLM) will go on another rioting spree. This time I hope they burn down K street and Georgetown, but it will be Chicago, LA and Atlanta.

Paddy O said...

So everyone on the Right said he wasn't capable of running and when they finally agreed, it's a scandal? Maybe it shouldn't have been pushed so hard until after the convention. And the media certainly should do its job rather than taking marching orders from Democrats. But it seems like it is actually taking the clear issue as seriously as it should have e been. And threatening to use the 25th amendment is only a coup if there wasn't a clear reason to use it. Letting Biden finish his term instead seems like a compromise lest it make replacing him very messy for Dems.

I dint agree at all with Biden, Pelosi, the media who let this happen without honest coverage, or Dems, but this doesn't really seem a scandal unless getting what so many Rs demanded is somehow now a scandal.

Apparently, Pelosi threatened to say something if Biden didn't withdraw. Would that just be "Joe should go! Go, Joe, go!" or would it be a revelation of something that Joe doesn't want made public? Something about the current state of Biden's health, or something darker and more damaging? Maybe about Joe's health. Pelosi doesn't want to tear the party apart with a scandalous revelation, but just saying "I don't like Joe anymore and think he should end his campaign" or "I have authorized Vice President Harris permission to proceed with the 25th Amendment process" (authorization that Harris doesn't legally need) doesn't sound threatening enough.

Trump's silver bullet was Biden’s age. Now that the Democrats replaced Biden, all the moderates will vote for Harris because there is no reason to vote for Trump anymore.

Trump’s age and diminished presence are evident. Over half the electorate views him as too old, and his increasingly incoherent rhetoric is alienating even his base. His VP pick is historically unpopular, while Walz enjoys high approval ratings. Despite the long road ahead, Trump’s campaign struggles to reverse the shifting momentum.

His Presidency is still hanging by a thread. How specific can he really be? If polls start to turn around on Harris, say, after a September debate, who would put it past Democrats to force Joe out completely, so Kamala can shoot for a second honeymoon period? And then, LEFT HIM IN THE PRESIDENCY for the remainder of his term. Not, of course that he's running anything (mumble mumble 25th amendment, not capable etc.) but the corruptocrats who have been using him as a beard all this time are still being permitted to destroy the country while still getting to use him as their human shield. Nancy Pelosi has now cast doubt on whether Joe Biden even signed his withdrawl letter.

Pelosi: "Some said that some people were unhappy with the letter. I’ll put it in somebody else’s mouth. It didn’t sound like Joe Biden to me. It really didn’t.”

She's suggesting that Biden was withdrawn by others. Many other people have rightly noted that the signature on the letter is not Joe Biden's normal signature.

So, the conspiracy is starting to unravel. Who withdrew Joe Biden from the Presidential race and installed someone who hasn't won a single delegate in the primary elections - disenfranchising 14 million Democrats who selected Joe Biden to be their nominee for President?

Two thoughts

I did a little hunting awhile ago and have seen at least one reasonably informed comment to that there is no reason to assume Biden is staying in office in order to pardon Hunter. Nothing says a pardon has to be made public in order to be effective. I think the DOJ has a pardon recommendation process in order to minimize corruption in issuing them but I see no reason Joe Biden and his staff couldn't go around that. It has apparently been either pencil-whipped or bypassed in the past (*cough*Marc Rich*cough*). I'd rate it more likely than not that Hunter already has his pardon.

If you read Section 4 of the 25th, nobody in the Legislative branch of government has any role in *initiating* the process. It is all on the VP and the Cabinet (absent the designation of another group) to start the ball rolling, and the House and Senate only get involved if Biden were to chose to contest the determination. Maybe Pelosi and Schumer were on the phone to tell Biden that they would uphold the invocation of Section 4 but that really has nothing to do with starting the process. This narrative seems designed to obscure exactly who was organizing the Cabinet secretaries to determine that they would officially support Biden's defenestration, and what if any role Harris had in the process.

Actually, it would be the best thing for the Democrats to have Biden drop Harris as VP, and then have him "pass away."

I guess that depends on your definition of "a lot". According to wikipedia, Trump received 76.42% of primary votes. Nikki Haley got 19.68%, Ron DeSantis got 1.59% and seven other candidates each got less than "uncommitted" at 0.70%. Anyway, unlike the Democrats, Republican voters had a say in who would be their candidate.

"It's not like Biden won a competitive primary this year, replacing the candidate forced on the voters by a party with another chosen by the party is the same lack of choice."

Yes, that's true. And like I said before, you don't hear many complaints from the left about how this seems to work. You could ask the Bernie Bros, they know how it goes.

boatbuilder said...

Rosalyn C. said...

My understanding is that there were a number of people, including Pelosi, who were worried about losing their re-election bids if Biden were on the ticket. I gathered that the fear was that Democratic voters would have chosen to sit out the election and to not vote at all. So Joe said he dropped out to prevent Trump from winning, and to save democracy.

What I found fascinating in this interview was the inconsistency of Biden's dramatic pledge to his dying son Beau (who died May 30, 2015) to "stay engaged," iow to run for the presidency, followed by Biden's equally dramatic claim that his turning point in deciding to run for president was the Charlottesville protest and Trump's comment about "nice people on both sides" which took place in August 2017.

IOW, everything Biden does is apparently because of Donald Trump. Biden is a stone cold liar or he's paranoid and a borderline schizo. I prefer to think he's a stone cold liar.

Biden admits he had only planned one term and to be a transitional president. But time went by so fast he felt he had to try for a second term, again, to save democracy from Trump.

I understand giving Biden respect as a senior and the current president but his claiming that Trump is a danger to the nation went over the line and the fact there was no push back is media collusion with state sponsored propaganda. Very disturbing abuse.
