Writes Michael Goodwin, in "Kamala Harris’ vow that she’s ‘ready to serve’ is a reminder of how much worse she’d be over Biden" (NY Post).
Too undemocratic? The primaries already feel undemocratic this time around, but it's too late now to use the primaries to select a Democratic Party nominee other than Biden. It does seem that Biden will need to follow through the primary season and collect his delegates. Then it's a question of when he drops out and what sort of process will be used.
Goodwin envisions "a scramble where party bosses and delegates anoint the nominee." But the people could be included in that decision-making process. I'm thinking of polls and even debates. Or there could be a very quick realization that it simply must be Kamala Harris. Don't scramble at all. Harris is next in line. A democratic process led to the selection of Harris in 2020. Let her rise to the open position when it becomes vacant.
Even if they could persuade Harris to step aside because she's not a good enough candidate and they need to swap in somebody else, no one will believe she wasn't pushed aside, disrespected, humiliated.
Goodwin ends his column imagining Michelle Obama as the swapped-in replacement for Harris. I know Michelle Obama is ahead of Harris in the betting markets. The betting markets are not like polls. They don't show what people want, just what people believe will happen. And the various gamblers are trying to predict what would result from a party-boss scramble in the backroom.

Plans have failed in the past--they failed to crown Harris as intended when her primary campaign withered under fire from Tulsi Gabbard (an act which made Gabbard persona non grata to the Democratic leadership). Their fallback plan of having Harris come in through the VP slot failed due to her continuing unpopularity and they had to give up on her altogether.
So now they'll go back to a version of Plan A--Biden drops out late enough in the process that the convention has to choose someone without reference to primary results. Voila! They get whoever they want, voters be damned.

The NY Post headline writer uses confuses "vow" with "declaration". I can see the reason for the three-letter word, but it was not a "vow".
I expect Biden to step aside at the convention "for the good of the party and the country".
If the only way Biden isn't the nominee is if he withdraws, who is going to convince him to withdraw? No one in his inner circle profits by him not running. The democratic powerbrokers have lost control of him. The press has already turned on him. He has already proved he will not respond to scandals. His (and Dr. Jill's) pride will not allow him to admit he is not capable of doing the job. Short of severe physical medical issue, he will be the nominee.

A democratic process led to the selection of Harris in 2020
A democratic process to me means Harris won votes of actual people. That did not happen in 2020. I think Harris is on the ticket for a very un-democratic reason: her gender, and her skin tone.
The 2020 Democrat cycle was a back room selection after their horrible debates and after Clyburn gave the Congressional Black Caucus vote to Biden. They made a deal to put Biden out as the comforting face of the Party, but then ran policy through a menagerie of random Deep State warhorses and activists in the back room.
Zuckerberg, Gates, and Bloomberg seemingly spent a lot of money to install the easily controlled (via their wallets) Biden. Harris slept her way to the top in California, so they were peas in a pod. As such, it doesn't matter to the handlers who they control as long as the puppet can win a plausible victory through gift money and mail-in votes.
The trouble now is that factions within the 2020 coalition hate many of the policies they were forced to swallow. Blacks vs. immigrants. Blue cities vs. immigrants. Whites vs. social Justice racism and "original sin" guilt for being White. Peaceniks vs. Empire Builders. Greens vs. those who don't want mass human starvation. Unions vs. nominally left-wing big business capitalists. Jews vs. Palestinians.
You can't push a string. You can't live with the 1965 vision of globalism forever.
The Dems are left with a veritable coalition of internal hatred! See the 1968 Chicago convention for what may happen, at least behind the scenes. Some are bound to break off into 3rd parties, just walk away, and/or join Trump's coalition. Some are surely disgusted by what they became by defining themselves purely through hate of Trump.

There's also the fact that the Representatives shall choose from among people who received electoral votes. If there were no faithless electors- that would leave one candidate.

He gets names incorrect constantly, easily substituting dead people’s names for who he intending to mean (people with dementia easily recall memories from long ago but not short term memories), loses his thoughts in mid sentence (closes his eyes and tries to find the words but can’r after several seconds; this is not stuttering as claimed by his apologists) and quick to anger, literally at the drop of a hat. We watch him shuffle on and off stage. Many times, he looks confused as to where to go. When he leaves the podium, he looks like a zombie as he heads to a conveniently located door a short distance away ignoring a press desperately wanting him to answer their questions since he doesn’t hold press conferences. A number of times as president, he calls out dead people as if he thinks they are at the location he is speaking at, as if he was just talking with them minutes before. Finally, he stumbles a lot, as elderly people have balance issues, dementia or not.

If Biden dropped out and released his delegates the party leaders would have to twist a lot of arms to have all those delegates back just one person. The delegates are not a entity you can bequeath to your heir. Some would think it is Kamala's "turn" and time for the first black female President. Many would want to back Newman and then some would want Whitmer, the governor of Covid dictatorship fame. And of course, there are those who would want to bring Michele Obama in as the designated hitter.
However, I don't think Biden and his good doctor wife Jill are going to agree with being pushed aside. The Bidens have waited too long for the White House to give it up easily. Plus, there is that whole thing of being protected from prosecution for they and their family member's crimes.
I think the Democrats are stuck with Biden unless he dies tragically in his sleep before the convention.

Last year when Michelle was still a possibility, which I don't think she is now, I predicted that this presidential election would see over 100 million votes for the Democrat candidate. I still think it's a possibility.
Whatever deal they offer to get Biden to step down will have to include some method of protecting Hunter BIDEN from the consequences of his own actions. Even if BIDEN runs and loses, he will still have presidential powers until JAN-2025. While he may want to run and win for his ego, he still can potentially pardon Hunter without it. If he takes down the Democratic Party in the process in 2024, so be it if Hunter and the family are protected from prosecution.
This is an obvious path...being a political expert is not necessary.

Trump won in 2016, and by a larger margin in 2020 but was removed from office via absentee voter fraud. We all know this is what happened. Now that things have turned to shit under this installed, unaccountable regime Trump will win again. They know this. That's why they are trying to bankrupt him, put him in jail, and illegally remove him from state ballots.
If the vote is clean Trump wins again. If it's a 2020 repeat, anyone the Dems and uniparty want to install wins. It's that simple.
Two points of hope:
1) Trump will get an absentee ballot harvesting operation going. Fight fire with fire.

The DNC picked a black woman to be the VP nominee in 2020 and at least picked a person with experience to end up with Kamala Harris. Apparently they regret that decision enough to try and replace her against her will. Why is picking another black woman with no experience a better option?

Even with all they did last time the operative number was less than 50,000 votes in key states to get Joe's carcass across the line. The GOPe is still sitting on their asses but other groups like Turning Point are training GOP-GOTV volunteers in every key precinct and providing them the data that Ronna Romney McDaniel should have been providing.
The reason the Uniparty hates populism is because there is no effective cheat against a popular vote landslide. Trump's not there yet but variables are favoring him now and keep moving his way. Especially in Battleground States.

Now I will ask you to explain something. I can never pin down how many votes were claimed to have been "stolen", but I have seen assertions up to a ridiculous 20 million. That kind of massive fraud would have involved thousands of people. Yet, the election deniers have yet to find a single person who will admit participating in the fraud (the few who claimed they transported truckloads of ballots to polling places, amazingly were unwilling to confirm their claims under oath). Guiliani had a $35 million judgement against him for libeling mother and daughter vote counter. Dominion Arizona performed a comprehensive audit (or so you claimed before it started) and found nothing and in fact determined that Biden's win was actually a couple hundreds votes higher than the official count. Dominion settled with Fox for $800 million when it became obvious that Fox would lose and have to pay twice as much.

No doubt at this point, the objective is for Joe Biden to win a majority of delegates, and then back out, endorsing Michelle as he exits. Then the party bosses negotiate a back room deal with Michelle, basically making sure they have her under firm control before they sign off on her nomination. Shades of 68 or 72, I would have to look it up, I was a kid at the time.
