"Alexandra Pelosi, the daughter of Nancy Pelosi, told the New York Times that her mother called priests to perform an exorcism of the house over Thanksgiving, just weeks after David DePape allegedly attacked Paul Pelosi with a hammer.
Nancy Pelosi, her daughter said, felt “guilty” that her husband was injured by a man who was looking for her.
“I think that weighed really heavy on her soul. I think she felt really guilty. I think that really broke her. Over Thanksgiving, she had priests coming, trying to have an exorcism of the house and having prayer services,” Alexandra Pelosi told the New York Times.
“He’s a strong person, athletic. This has been tough. It’s going to be about three or four more months before he’s really back to normal,” she added.

On this day 20 years ago, the Red Sox signed David Ortiz to a 1 year $1.25 million contract. The rest is history.

New Republic shadow edits its article on DIY abortions.

I cited the article in my abortion book. It's a real horror story, with a woman using the abortion pill (RU-486) on a baby in the second trimester.

The original article had quotes from the cops at the crime scene.

"We see dead bodies daily, weekly, in all different stages. But seeing a recognizable baby in a garbage bag, frozen, outside, in a garbage pile, decomposing..."

The other cop said...

"I wouldn't wish anyone to that scene or investigation. We unwrapped it and released it to the funeral home, and the next day was the autopsy. The funeral director who was there said it was the worse smell he'd smelled in his thirty-five years of the funeral home...I can't imagine what it did to her, to have that baby right underneath you for so long, trying to sleep with it there. When they had it thawed out and laying on the table, it was just sad. Sad feeling. Sad little pathetic face. It was just terrible."

So that's a couple of (surprising) pro-life passages from a New Republic article published in 2012. It's surprising because that magazine has always been liberal, albeit very smart and interesting. (I used to be a subscriber).

I've lost all interest in reading the magazine. It's become predictable, and awful, so I haven't read it in years. But I think it's still notable that the editors of that magazine are going through and re-editing articles published over a decade ago. That's kind of like Stalin making some of his murder victims disappear from photographs.

Yes, that's right, you're a fucking Commie rag, New Republic. Hide the bodies, hide the truth, rewrite the past!

"Federal investigators found more classified materials during a search of President Biden’s Delaware home — with some dating back to his years in the Senate, Biden’s lawyer announced Saturday." (NY Post)

Joe Biden became a senator on January 3, 1973, a mere 50 years ago.

Wayne LaPierre, who was reelected in 2023 as NRA's CEO and Executive VP, in order to permit him to continue ripping off the organization by using member-provided funds as his personal piggy bank (to the tune of millions of dollars, a yacht, and a mansion), would have us understand that:

“There exists in this country a callous, corrupt, and corrupting shadow industry that sells, and sows, violence against its own people.”

It seems that he thinks that this most powerful group is the entertainment industry.

Lurker, ha ha

The morality of "shadow edits" is kind of interesting.

The reporter is in a panic because they're trying to get the pronoun right. That's funny as shit to me. In the future these silly people will have to stop using words like "he" and "she," because you can spend the rest of your life trying to follow the path of the pronoun switches, trying to get your damn article right. That's why they decided on "adult child," just to avoid all the fucking drama.

I don't yell at reporters who edit their copy when they discover a factual mistake. I have no strong opinion on whether they should be forced to fall on their sword and acknowledge the mistake in public, or just fix the damn thing. I really don't care.

But what burns my ass is what The New Republic did. They were trying to make the article "right" by hiding the truth and eliminating any copy that conflicts with their party narratives. That's not journalism at all. It's the opposite of journalism. You're censoring facts and truths that disturb your fucking narratives, and your peace of mind. It's an artificial lie.

Reporters hide the reality of abortion all the time, of course. That's fucking routine. All you have to do is reflect on how many times you've seen a photo of abortion. Here's the New York Times, pretending they are a fountain of honest journalism. Just the facts, ma'am!

As bad as that it is, for many people the failure to show aborted babies comes out of ignorance, or a kind of blindness, as opposed to malign intent. You don't run the photograph of an aborted baby because it doesn't occur to you that this is an important part of the story. You're seeped in your own biases, and you're kind of oblivious. (That's why it's important for pro-lifers and/or Republicans to mock the shit out of reporters for their dishonesty).

What the New Republic did is actually worse. It's the moral equivalent of The New York Times removing this photograph from the internet.

Anyway, that poor reporter just trying to get the pronouns right! Dude. That's funny.

@Lurker21. I was confused about the reporting on this story also. Son/ daughter??? We need to hear from the other 55 genders before we'll know the truth. Maybe Justice Ketanji Onyika Brown Jackson could weigh in to clarify this matter.

Fox News Weatherman tries to stop gang of thugs from attacking older man whose hair they started on fire, and gets beat up himself instead. Thugs get let go, as it was just a misdemeanor....and you wonder WHY nobody wants to go to Progressive New York City anymore?? This is what their Utopia looks like. Enjoy the downfall. This is as bad as Atlanta, where the thugs attacked a police station and started police cars on fire, and the stupid media calling it a peaceful protest. We are fucked.

Remember how the Democrats and the mainstream press mocked Sarah Palin for suggesting that Putin would roll into Ukraine?

"I can see Russia from my house!"
"The 1980s called, and they want their foreign policy back!"

Democrats are like an etch-a-sketch, just shake them a little bit, and they forget everything they once passionately believed, and passionately believe something new and totally different.

This is wrong, and the left is fucked up. Christine Blasey Ford should get this treatment from the left since SHE lied about it all, and she got richer off of her lies that are destroying this man.

I do love your winterscapes, and admire your discipline to maintain your morning walk routine. On those rare days we have such a sight in Dallas, I revel in suspending all discipline and going straight to coffee in a cozy robe, to soak up the stillness.

My wife just showed me some posts from our neighborhood group.

In the last few nights, groups of men have been walking the streets trying car doors in the early a.m., and even trying some house doors. Several cameras caught them, but not any identifiable faces.

My car, parked in the carport, was broken into one night in 2014. The only valuable they took was a CD of Strauss and von Weber horn concertos (Masur and the great Baumann). I'm not sure they would appreciate it.

Our Honda CR-V was also broken into a few years ago, in the carport, in the dead of night. That time they got away with the owner's manual, and left the good music alone.

Reasonable gun control through rights and responsibilities.

Antinra: selective indemnity through shared/shifted responsibility and em-pathetic appeal.

We need rational scalpel control to mitigate human rites reform performed for social, redistributive, clinical, political, criminal, and fair weather progress.

It's usually kids on drugs.
Solution.
Get a tube of 'Prussian Blue". (Amazon has it.) Smear it liberally on the door handle. They will not touch your car again. It comes of with acetone or mineral spirits. It takes a couple of days to get it off your hands no matter what you do. It is harmless. Can't say the same for red lead.

The arc of progressive tactics is long but it bends toward nonsense. Like a random walk, who you attack depends only on the last person you attacked. A memoryless process, each day is a new day.
