The top 10 posts of 2021 here on the Althouse blog.

This is purely based on traffic, not my opinion of the quality of the post. I'll just observe that a lot of these are about women.1. "Listen to Bari Weiss's podcast about 'The Central Park Karen,' Amy Cooper."

2. "How must it feel to have your name airbrushed from the $8 billion film franchise born of your scribbling in a coffee shop, penniless, while your baby napped?"

3. "I'm pulled into the upper right hand corner of The Washington Post — so dangerous, so syrup-drenched."

The name of the criminal suspect in #9. Go look.

The past is a different country. Even the recent past.

I'm not surprised that most are about women. Women, womenhood and motherhood are under attack. I cannot understand why women are allowing this to happen.

Seriously, men are being rewarded for being better women than actual women and apart from JK Rowling, women are rolling over and showing their bellies. Where the Hell is Paglia?

Probably visitors from Glenn, so maybe it is Glenn with the interest in women!

The numbers are skewed by counting people who are either coming in on a link to a particular post or clicking on the post title to read more (where I do a page break) or to get to the comments. I think most readers are coming to the blog itself and not doing that particular-post clicking. So I think there are a lot of posts people read that don't have traffic numbers on the post page URL.

Do you have stats on the blog posts with the most comments?

"Do you have stats on the blog posts with the most comments?"

I don't have a way to sort them by comment number. Would just have to look.

Still confused by the accounting, but no matter. It was obvious that 'traffic' and comments were not the same. I didn't comment on most of those 10, and only briefly on the others; a walk down lack-of-memory and/or interest lane.

As it should be, right, Ann?

LOLOL

There are women and then there are whoever else is taking up space on this good earth. Uselessly.

Except ... when .... [fill in blank]

Sigh. Who doesn't love women? But OMG you folks are incredible in your blissful ignorance. Except you don't even enjoy the bliss!!

it was interesting listening to the more than 1 hour podcast about the Canadian Karen...
and how "SHE WAS THE REAL VICTIM!!!!"

time for a fun hypothetical question:
What would have happened to the guy, if; instead of being Black, was a white guy with a MAGA hat?
Would he be in Jail now? Or would his trial be over and would he be in prison ??

4. "My hypothesis: The Bidens deliberately froze Kamala Harris's political career."

She knew the pole was icy when she stuck her tongue to it.

And get your mind out of the gutter. That's a reference to a beloved Christmas movie.

If that recent post about the benefits of making lists in writing had somehow finagled a spot, preferably at number 1 or 10, it would have been a nice coincidence.

Traffic magnets:

1) Race
2) violence
3) Women
4) celebrities.

Readers like lists.

Hum, a post of lists. Sometimes that's just the best way.

I only note the absence of Hardin, who was apparently busy chairing 2022’s first meeting of the Woman Haters Klub…
