I shoveled late-ish last night (9 or so? 9:30) and no one had walked on my sidewalk when I went out to finish this morning at 6 AM. Don't people go out walkin' after midnight any more?
I traced her little footprints in the snow I found her little footprints in the snow I bless that happy day when Nellie lost her way For I found her when the snow was on the ground
Out here in the wilds of Brooklyn snow is interpreted by all too many as a good reason not to pick up dog shit. Other than that it makes the neighborhood lovely.
I don't avoid the possibility I am mad - it could be true - how does one know? One examines oneself for the 'marks', the behaviours that would tell one. In Eastern Europe those that opposed the regime were mad. A fact. They were all nuts. 1 comment
"Was it a shooshy footprint or a crust-crunchy one?"
At my house the snow was soft but squeaky. It was a perfect snow for the local ski hill.
At 6:55 AM I was shoveling a patch of lawn in my backyard for our small dogs. Our 4 to 5 inches of fresh snow was too deep for them to comfortably do their business
Someone did the same at my place....walked up the driveway, through my back yard, and then who knows where. Weird. Through heavy snow. Weird. We have assholes checking vehicles to see if they are locked, but why the backyard? I'm guessing just cutting the corner to save time.
Melody, you know how 'we' hate bs. I hide in my room rather than po faced moruns telling us what to do. What is ethical? Hiding in your own room is kind of ethical, by default. But I've been doing that for twenty years - this is nothing new, only other people are 'new' - - or dead. The counting of the dead - when you get to a certain age that's all you do. You wait - anticipate - when the next one will drop. Till you crawl up in a ball and say, sotto voce, no more. You wait for your own death - but it never comes. A ghost in your room, you avoid the mirrors - because they will show you you are a vampire. You scribble on fb what drunk can say. Sober your scared of your own shadow. Your cursed by guilt and desire, both Gods ruling you. You upset the apple cart but only get the bad apple. Oh well. Oh well. Where as you, my darling, are always good. Such sweetness I never knew. Such strong, vibrant nobility. I am pathetic but I know how to respect someone. Someone better than me. My superior. I love you, All my respect, Lewis.

Could be animals. Mine and my neighbors back yards look like a wildlife interstate. Most are deer tracks, but there are some coyote and fox as well.

Just bring your own snow and you do that every day.

Footprints in the Snow
"At 6:55 a.m., I got to put the first footprints in the new snow on my favorite forest path."
Talk about white privilege.
Yikes! Happened upon an episode of Who's the Boss? With a young Alyssa Milano.
Then I looked up her birth date. And, again, YIKES!
Alyssa Milano is almost 50 years old now.

Biden shoveling some COVID porn right now.

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.
Too obvious. I know.
I traced her little footprints in the snow
I found her little footprints in the snow
I bless that happy day when Nellie lost her way
For I found her when the snow was on the ground
Take only pictures, leave only footprints.
The snowy road less traveled...nice : )
As long as you're not a trailblazer...then all the snow would melt...
This morning my backyard ice rink had an alligator swimming in it.

Watched a bit of Merrick Garland's testimony - the guy has aged a decade or two in the last five years.

Congratulations.
First tracks are oddly enjoyable
A real quiet time!

Small pleasures that make the day!
They always rival through our draws, want to look our knickers.
