"Missouri Republican Sen. Josh Hawley said Wednesday he will object when Congress counts the Electoral College votes next week, which will force lawmakers in both the House and Senate to vote..."

"... on whether to accept the results of President-elect Joe Biden's victory.... The objection will not change the outcome of the election, only delaying the inevitable affirmation of Biden's victory in November over President Donald Trump. Democrats will reject any objections in the House, and multiple Republican senators have argued against an objection that will provide a platform for Trump's baseless conspiracy theories claiming the election was stolen from him. Hawley's objection, which other senators may still join, will also put many of his Senate Republican colleagues in a difficult political position, forcing them to vote on whether to side with Trump or with the popular will of the voters."

for Trump's baseless conspiracy theories claiming the election was stolen from him

After all the stuff we've been through in the past 12 years, of things that were just right-wing conspiracy theories until, well, they turned out to be true (IRS being used to stymie right-wing activism, Trump transition team being "wiretapped", Hunter Biden's "hacked" laptop as Russian dis-info, etc), I really wonder if the folks at CNN would like to bet anything of value on the "baseless" statement that the 2020 election was on the Up & Up.

I don't understand this. If all this was just some "baseless conspiracy theory" against the "will of the voters", then there'd be no reason for GOP Senators to worry about opposing Trump, right? I mean, there'd be no reason to side with Trump since he doesn't represent the will of the voters... according to CNN anyway.

What’s more, before the election, Trump-appointed judges had been instrumental in ruling against loosening voting rules. A Washington Post analysis from Ann E. Marimow and Matt Kiefer found that Trump appointees accounted for three of every four decisions in that regard.
That more than anything would seem to suggest that the ground was fertile for there to be a judge — someone, somewhere — who might breathe life into Trump’s baseless claims of massive voter fraud, even if it would never be enough to actually change the winner of the 2020 election. The fact that not even that has happened truly says it all about the veracity of Trump’s claims.”

@Spezzatura,

All told, at least 86 judges have rejected at least one post-election lawsuit, and 38 of them were appointed by Republicans.

How many of those cases actually were decisions on factual claims of voter fraud versus claims on technical legal issues such as standing? Ask yourself this question --- how could a trial that concerned itself with an empirical question such as vote fraud be resolved in such a short period of time? Answer -- they can't, but technical legal questions such as standing can be. Do you consider a suit by 18 states Attorneys General to be such a frivolous thing that it can be dismissed by a one page SCOTUS retort? If the behavior of the judges in the article is considered to be indicative of the lack of merit of Trump's case, then are the legal opinions of 18 state's AGs also to be considered meritless? Are the AGs all trained apes?

Spezz, you don't comment here much. We've rehearsed all of this in previous postings. Nothing has changed since those postings.

My second question is as follows. Does no one believe that the democrats and their allies in big tech, and the media, would lie, cheat and steal to gain power?
Third question. Why would anyone serve or take an oath to preserve a corrupt political class and their bureaucracy?

If I were Trump, and I just raised $200 plus million to "stop the steal," and I really believed that the amount of fraud was downright staggering, I would prepare a detailed White Paper going through all the allegations of fraud state by state, point by point, citing to and attaching the supporting evidence, including the material affidavits. Well here is a possible answer to the PA vote count question I asked above.

https://wjactv.com/news/local/dept-of-state-republicans-election-claims-are-repeatedly-debunked-conspiracy-theories

We are unclear as to what data the legislators used for this most recent “analysis.” But the only way to determine the number of voters who voted in November from the SURE system is through the vote histories,” Murren said. “At this time, there are still a few counties that have not completed uploading their vote histories to the SURE system. These counties, which include Philadelphia, Allegheny, Butler and Cambria, would account for a significant number of voters. The numbers certified by the counties, not the uploading of voter histories into the SURE system, determines the ultimate certification of an election by the secretary.”

Now they know exactly how many voters they need to “find” to match the number of votes. Convenient.

If the election was on the up & up in the swing states, why did the Democrats conduct it opaquely? They:

- Ejected Republican observers from polling places and counting centers.
- Kept said observers too far away to conduct meaningful oversight.
- Papered over observation windows
- Said they were shutting down counting for the night at 10:30 p.m. 10:30 p.m.! The night was still young for an election night. After everyone has gone home, they continue counting and manage accumulate ~150,000 vote drops during the early morning hours of November 4. How does one count ~150,000 votes when one is not counting at all? Must be a Schrodinger ballot drop - it exists and doesn't exist at the same time.

Keep in mind that an election may be pristinely without fraud while simultaneously being illegal and unconstitutional (if it's unconstitutional, it's automatically illegal):

"Where we see abundant evidence that America has entered a post-legal era is in the battleground states of the 2020 federal elections. Laws and even constitutions were ignored and superseded. The prime example is Pennsylvania. Act 77, the law that legalized mail-in voting in Pennsylvania, violated the state's own constitution. And then PA's own Supreme Court violated the U.S. Constitution by usurping the power of the state's Legislature. If that's all true, then the election in the Keystone State was illegal. So how can Congress accept the votes of Pennsylvania's electors on January 6?"

https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2020/12/tainted_electors_in_postlegal_america.html

So are we accepting, certifying, and counting illegal elections and electors now?

On what basis? Might makes right? Can anybody play? On what basis would you expect to stop them if they choose to? Judges pounding wooden mallets?

Be careful what you wish for when you explicitly set the rule of law aside. There might be more people eager to play by the alternate rules you loose than you think.

Let's do what Prof. Althouse (I assume) would have called a hypothetical exercise when she was still teaching law. Suppose Sen. Hawley challenges the reported results from his State and presents the evidence for why he's doing so. It's substantial (if still controverted) evidence. So the objections are no longer "basesless" or "a conspiracy theory". Then others, from other States, come forward with evidence to challenge the reported results in their States. So their objections are not "basesless" or "a conspiracy theory".

What would Joe and Jane America think? If they get their news from CNN or ABC or any number of conventional sources, they have been told forever that claims like these are "baseless" "conspiracy theories"; they haven't been told that there's substantial (but contested) evidence of misconduct in vote counting in a number of States. Who will they believe? What will happen to the citizens' trust in the outcome of elections?

Who knew that was an instruction? Blanket the people in darkness. Silence opposing views. This is not a new thing. Innocents think it cannot happen here. It's human nature.

We innocently send Trillions of dollars to one city, that rules us. Washington, DC. That city attracts the Swalwells, Pelosis, McConnells, McCarthys, Ryans, on and on.

A Simple Test for the Extent of Vote Fraud with Absentee Ballots in the 2020 Presidential Election: Georgia and Pennsylvania Data

John R. Lott
US Department of Justice
25 Pages Posted: 29 Dec 2020 Last revised: 30 Dec 2020

The best estimate shows an unusual 7.81% drop in Trump’s percentage of the absentee ballots for Fulton County alone of 11,350 votes, or over 80% of Biden’s vote lead in Georgia. The same approach is applied to Allegheny County in Pennsylvania for both absentee and provisional ballots. The estimated number of fraudulent votes from those two sources is about 55,270 votes.

Second, vote fraud can increase voter turnout rate. Increased fraud can take many forms: higher rates of filling out absentee ballots for people who hadn’t voted, dead people voting, ineligible people voting, or even payments to legally registered people for their votes. However, the increase might not be as large as the fraud if votes for opposing candidates are either lost, destroyed, or replaced with ballots filled out for the other candidate. The estimates here indicate that there were 70,000 to 79,000 “excess” votes in Georgia and Pennsylvania. Adding Arizona, Michigan, Nevada, and Wisconsin, the total increases to up to 289,000 excess votes.

Lott addresses Bill Barr and the judicial catch-22.

Courts have frequently rejected Republican challenges to the 2020 presidential vote because they want evidence that a case involves enough fraud to alter the vote’s outcome in a particular state. Republicans argue that since their observers couldn’t watch the vote count, they can’t provide that evidence and have asked for discovery. Still, while the courts have agreed that irregularities have occurred, they weren’t willing to grant discovery unless Republicans first present enough evidence of fraud to overturn the election. Republicans thus faced a kind of Catch 22.

This paper’s approach allows us to quantify how large a potential problem vote fraud and other abnormalities might be in the 2020 election. The process is applicable to other states where precinct-level data is available on voting by absentee and in-person voting.

I wish Republican leaders would distinguish between credible electoral fraud allegations (e.g. ballot harvesting enabling selective ballot counting, relaxation of voter authentication controls enabling fraudulent mail-in ballots), and the barmier allegations (e.g. the Dominion/Diebold voting-machines-are-rigged stuff, which is the kind of thing hand recounts would have caught). I have not got the sense they have, although to be fair, I am
mostly hearing their claims through the filter of journalists who are mentally incapable of considering vote fraud allegations dispassionately.

I would guess that from Trump's perspective, this is at least as much about making sure he poisons Biden's well as thoroughly as Obama and Clinton poisoned his as it is about genuine belief in vote fraud, but Republicans should be staking out clear standards on voter authentication, ballot custody, and observer access.

" Even if a third of the seventy four million, who voted for Trump, stood up on their hind legs and said, "ENOUGH"to the rotten political class, high tech and media, who have stolen our election, WHAT would that look like?"

Fandor asks two questions in one: how spectacular would that be, and what procedures would be involved to produce that spectacle.

The procedure would be civil war: viewing those mentioned as enemies, no longer fellow Americans.

Civil war can take many forms, not all necessarily violent. The overriding concept is to make the enemy's life unlivable. Currently this is known as "cancel culture" and is perpetrated exclusively by the Left against the Right.

Such exclusivity is entirely unnecessary: the Right can just as easily wage cancel war against the Left.

This would not involve anything as silly as trying to deplatform Mark Zuckerberg; it might very well involve rendering Mark Zuckerberg unable to employ anyone other than his wife.

And, again, violence need not at all play any role in R-->L cancel culture, any more than it does in L-->R. The process involves keeping the target so busy with other life engagements that he is rendered harmless as a threat against you. Permanently seeking employment is one such timesink; there are many others, e.g., permanently seeking daycare. Desperately trying to acquire new friends and other social connections. Let me stress again: none of this activity need be violent or even illegal.

But it does require a determined collective will.

The overarching hubris over the course of 2020 in removing individuals' abilities to speak freely, to earn a living, and above all to peaceably vote in fair, legal elections as a nonviolent improvement over historical alternatives oughta do it.

The process may well have already started, like a long fuse. We'll just have to see about the spectacle.

If they say "no", I ask them to view it and then get back to me and explain away all the evidence presented in the video. As of yet, no one has gotten back to me with a response on the video. They simply continue with the "baseless" claims. As a matter of fact, several of those people now will not respond to me at all. Not even my eldest sister (a big Hillary supporter). She thinks me, our mother, and 3 other sisters are all crazy because we are Trump supporters and she is the only sane one. This is a sister that has been unemployed and on disability for 40 years due to "dependency issues".

If we want to see a concise report of the fraud, watch the video.

Hackers have announced that they've broken in to GA Dominion voting systems for teh Senate runoff.

I hope that white hat hackers are trying to break into every single county's machines and hack them. I hope that next Tuesday night, while Congress is being slowed down and forced to deliberate about the EC results, the GA Senate runoff results start coming back, and they come back clearly hacked.

GOP candidates with 10x as many votes in a county as registered voters.

Heck, give Trump 10 million write-in votes.

Make the liars and frauds trying to pretend that Biden won honestly, have to watch hacked results coming back.

Do it in a real world vote, not a test.

We really need a national example

I sympathize with AA regarding posts like today's LGBT, but also scratch my head since most of the comments I have read on her blog have been like this stuff.

If true, and they can manipulate votes, they should not have announced it.

I am pretty much in the same boat, but don't have the energy to read troll scat. What is the point in debating a moron like Inga or a psychopath like Chuck? Howard and readering are not much better considering that their motives are to annoy and not to edify.

I sincerely enjoy Cookie because he reminds me of my beloved pinko godmother, a very important person in my life. The other bete noir of this site appears to be Farmer. He is right much more often than not, but he enjoys the argument too much for my taste. It seems to be his way of working through his personal demons. My methods are different.

He twitter fought with Walmart, and didn't beclown himself. Taken with this move, that would qualify him as among the better of our elite in a typical 2021 style scrap.

cfs, we are just following Ann's example and ignoring it like the majority of Americans.

Telling someone to watch a video is like telling them to check out your MySpace page. No one is willing to run when you yell squirrel. If you have such great facts, write them the fuck down like people have done thru history. JFC

“DJT openly asked for Russian help with stolen info re helping his election. His kid got all excited about getting dirt from a Russian operative re a meeting at Trump Tower. Which resulted in DJT making up a lie re what happened.”

“And, the Russians timed opo-dumps exactly when the Access Hollywood tapes come out.”

“No speculation required. None of this is in doubt.”

None of it is in doubt, because it is all false. Typical Prog/ChiCom propaganda tactics - almost seemingly true, but blatantly false. Every one of the regulars can, no doubt, readily detects and sees the falsehoods, but just to remind those who haven’t been:

The supposed request for Russian help was a joke, that Progs pretend to be too stupid to understand or recognize. To set the stage - Crooked Hillary had been caught with 60k work related emails illegally on her private email server, and illegally not on State Department servers. As she had been the primary classifier for the State Department for four years, many of the emails were classified at some level, and several at some of the highest levels, thereby also violating the Espionage Act. Congress subpoenaed the emails, and her lawyers had responded by illegally having half of them deleted. Then FBI Director Comey had openly covered for her, telling the American people that the laws, as written didn’t really apply to her somehow, over 100k federal crimes were swept under the carpet by the Obama/Lynch DOJ, after her husband had met secretly at the Phoenix airport with AG Lynch. The fix was in, and it was blatant.

It turns out that no only had Clinton illegally placed highly classified emails on her private email server, they had failed to keep the security patches to the server up to date. This was esp dangerous because everyone knew that she dealt with highly classified information, she also traveled extensively, which meant that the air through which her highly classified information was transmitted to her server was very often under control of foreign governments. Intelligence services, as well as hackers, around the world were, no doubt, trying to hack her, every time she left the country. And, as we ultimately found out, at least the ChiComs had been successful. They had installed code on her server that forwarded all her email to them in real time. So, in late June of 2016, the US government didn’t have her illegally deleted 30k emails, but very likely several foreign intelligence services did, including Russia, China, and Israel. To highlight this, Trump asked Russia to give them to us. It was a joke. And they never did.

The “opo dump” was presumably the Wikileaks dump of the hacked DNC emails. There never was any evidence that there was any connection between the Trump campaign and the Wikileaks dump, nor connection with the Russians. The corrupt CIA and FBI claimed, with no real evidence that there was evidence that the Russians did it, but, again, they never touched the email servers. It quickly came out that it almost had to have been an inside job - likely a disgruntled Bernie Bro working for the DNC. This was effectively confirmed by Julian Assange, Wikileaks founder. Mueller’s highly partisan prosecutors spent much of their time, budget, and effort trying to tie the Trump campaign to Assange and Wikileaks, and failed.

Oh, and it turns out that the real Russian collusion was with the Clinton campaign, setting up the Steele Dossier, a combination of Clinton “opo research” and Russian disinformation, as a fake intelligence product, to launch the long running investigation into Trump/Russian collusion.

“Does China pay by the post or the hour?”

“China is by the hour.”

“Soros is by the post/comment.”

“Don’t tell them but I bill both for the same output.”

I would have expected the ChiComs to be paying by the post/comment, having learned from the Soviets that paying by the hour resulted in almost no output. Moreover the fact that they abjectly refused to provide a single link for their false claims strongly suggests payment by the post/comment.

The funny thing there is that we seemed to pick up Inga during the spring/summer of 2016, when we were getting hit around the clock here by teams of Clinton funded trolls. Most had no real profiles, and fairly new accounts. They all disappeared by early fall, when the money seemingly ran out for trolling. And the only one of the presumed trolls left was Inga. And by now, we know that she really never was a troll, just a bit misguided. Okay, often major misguided.

The reason that I mentioned her, is that she does provide us with links. Indeed, she has the interesting habit of turning her entire comment into a single HTML link. Call it her signature. Of course, as someone above pointed out, her links often don’t say what she claims they say. But that just makes her more unique.
