"Missouri Republican Sen. Josh Hawley said Wednesday he will object when Congress counts the Electoral College votes next week, which will force lawmakers in both the House and Senate to vote..."

"... on whether to accept the results of President-elect Joe Biden's victory.... The objection will not change the outcome of the election, only delaying the inevitable affirmation of Biden's victory in November over President Donald Trump. Democrats will reject any objections in the House, and multiple Republican senators have argued against an objection that will provide a platform for Trump's baseless conspiracy theories claiming the election was stolen from him. Hawley's objection, which other senators may still join, will also put many of his Senate Republican colleagues in a difficult political position, forcing them to vote on whether to side with Trump or with the popular will of the voters."

I think of Hawley's move as payback for the ridiculous "Russian collusion" theater. If your opponents go crazy, you have to go crazy, too. There is no sane overseer who will reward a gentleman's response to thuggery.

Wince... Loved the flashback to The Classy One! "My Breakfast with Blassie" with Andy Kaufman was/is a GEM! Thanks.

Clayton, indeed. I have started by eliminating the one jackass democrat that worked for me. I paid him more than he ever made in his life. I am no longer unfailingly polite to complete strangers if I have even an inkling of their political philosophy (I may never speak with a young fat black woman again). I will do everything in my small power to damage anybody who supports this. Oh, and now I buy ammunition. I’m gonna buy a lot. I’m also getting my concealed carry permit. And last, if that Beamer thing were to happen to me...well, I’m old, I don’t care what happens.

”The other bete noir of this site appears to be Farmer. He is right much more often than not, but he enjoys the argument too much for my taste. It seems to be his way of working through his personal demons.”

This comment puzzles me. Farmer always shows good manners, except when certain nitwits respond to him with insults.

Oh, and it turns out that the real Russian collusion was with the Clinton campaign, setting up the Steele Dossier, a combination of Clinton “opo research” and Russian disinformation, as a fake intelligence product, to launch the long running investigation into Trump/Russian collusion.

Bruce you do a better job than I at responding to this vicious troll. I'm taking another vacation from commenting here.

@Dr. Michael K., while you’re away can you find out why Amazon is not carrying your books anymore, even in Kindle format?

Even if you don't care what happens to you, care what happens to others. With your concealed carry, wear a mask.

Still there. Have a nice day.

Caring for others is specifically why I don't wear a mask -- My care extends to the long-term big picture, and mask wearing out in public, not in the ER, is just a combination of virtue signaling, pandemic porn, and groveling before our disgusting "betters".

Readering no doubt avoids reading anything that conflicts with Teh Narrative™, so knows nothing about the many different voices expressing all kinds of divergent information on the benefits, drawbacks, endangered related to our covid overreaction.

I was not speaking of a lack of manners. Farmer is quite civil, thoughtful and passive-aggressive. That seems to bring out the worst in commenters that I otherwise appreciate. He knows exactly what he is doing and seems to enjoy it. I am not condemning him. I am just saying that it is not how I wish to operate.

The lefties just don't know that the 60+ cases thrown out did not present the same factual evidence presented to the media for extra special reasons known only to China and George Soros! Also, these were presented only to the media because they are courts of public opinion that the judges should be subservient to!

Pesky Democrats! Only legal technicalities could allow them to win an election and the many court cases contesting it! Technicalities - such as a state being allowed to carry out an election according to its own laws! Horrible! Since when was that the way an election was conducted?

Also, just because Trump's team couldn't figure out who had standing in most of their cases doesn't mean that they were bad lawyers. They were just doing what our great leader told them to do! A sign of greatness, indeed.

Democrats and judges need to get the memo: An "allegation" is a "fact." True, period, end of story! Melissa Carone is very credible and should be installed as chief justice once President Trump deposes John Roberts in his second or third term.

Lawyers who disregard matters of legal standing are not bad or corrupt lawyers. Also, who says that Trump doesn't have legal standing to instigate a coup?
