Amy slips... and it seems she's revealing that she's Biden's VP choice.

So funny... and kind of charming. I hope she is Biden's choice. I think they'll be cute together. What better way than a gaffe to reveal your connection to the gaffe-master?

Via "Klobuchar 'ticket' slip-up at Biden event in Michigan sparks speculation she'll be his VP pick" (Fox News).

AND: Let's see how Joe is doing:

IN THE COMMENTS: Bob Boyd tells the perfect joke: "Biden picked her because her hair smelled like honey mustard."

I mentioned this incident to my LIV niece and the possibility that K would be Biden's running mate and she was horrified.

I asked her why, but immediately regretted it. She said "Klobuchar is an idiot" and while I couldn't refute it, I also know her opinions aren't formed by anything resembling research or deep thought.

I love her, but she really is the epitome of the Democratic base.

This is such a weird fight for a Trumpist to pick with Joe Biden. I gather that there are Trumpists who are utterly clueless about Trump Dementia Syndrome. They are living in a Fox/Trump news bubble. Or else are knowingly trying to blunt the attacks on Trump with a preemptive strike on Joe Biden, who actually did have a real speech impediment by his own account.

Anyway... Trump Derangement Syndrome:

"Is There Something Neurologically Wrong With Donald Trump?"

"During Iron Speech, Trump Demonstrated That He Is Not Well"

"Trump struggles to pronounce various words during rambling speech to veterans"

A psychologist opines that Trump's cognitive deficits seem worse. We need to know if he has dementia.

"A former White House Physician Theorizes that Trump has Neurological Issues."

"The President is Unwell -- and everyone around him knows it."

Trump's speech impairment is chilling.

Paul Mirengoff has a mild case of TDS but still disputes the lies about the CDC press conference.

Yesterday, President Trump toured the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta. Afterwards, he spoke to the press, alongside Secretary of HHS Alex Azar and top officials from the Center.

Aspects of the president’s performance were off putting, or should be for all but Trump’s most ardent supporters. He bragged about his grasp of information and analysis relevant to the coronavirus, saying “maybe I have natural ability.”

Trump clearly does have natural ability, though not necessarily in the field of medicine and contagious disease. What puzzles me is why he needs to brag about it.

Trump also described coronavirus testing kits as “beautiful” and as “perfect” as the phone conversation with Ukraine’s president that led to his impeachment. Was Trump trying to be funny? I don’t know. But a self-serving irrelevant aside like this, even if it was an attempt at humor, is inappropriate when discussing a potential pandemic.

In this article, David Nakamura of the Washington Post ridicules Trump’s presser. That’s okay with me. Aspects of Trump’s performance invited ridicule.

Unfortunately, Nakamura also provides a false account of the substance of Trump’s remarks.

WaPoo is TDS central.

No kidding.

Trumpists don’t care that Trump has serious mental deficits, why should a Democrats care if Biden has similar deficits?

“If you truly were concerned, you would move heaven and earth to get someone on the ticket who's growing senescence wasn't a danger to the nation; you wouldn't respond with pointed fingers at Trump.”

If you were truly concerned about not having a POTUS who is in mental decline, Trumpists wouldn’t constantly make excuses for Trump when he behaves like a person with dementia.

“Admit it, you know the country is currently in competent hands and will continue to be so after the 2020 election, because Trump is likely to win a second term.”

You’ve got to be kidding. I’m not concerned about Biden, we’ll have a President Amy in waiting and a very competent Cabinet.

On getting old-and "losing it". My late father was fairly sharp mentally into his early 90s. His business judgment departed when he was 85 or so, but otherwise he was okay. When he was 95 he was a widower with some physical problems and it was time to move into an assisted living facility. While there he became close friends with another resident. My father and his friend had both been civil engineers in their working lives.

Shortly after my father arrived his engineer friend told him, confidentially as it were, "You know Roy, some of these folks around us aren't "all here" if you know what I mean."

I do think that sentient older folks realize that mental ability can and will slip--and I doubt that they will take much umbrage if someone points that out--in a respectful manner.

Biden is slipping a few mental gears--heck maybe he's minus a whole transmission. His handlers, whoever they may be, will run his administration if he's elected.

Trump shut his family foundation "charity" down, and that is good. Very little over-sight over these family foundations makes it easy to turn them into family funded cash slush funds. Certainly the Clinton Family Foundation is far far worse.

He shut it down because he was forced to by the State of New York, and had to pay a $2 million fine, as well as distributing all the remaining money to the charities he claimed he was helping. In the settlement he admitted to 19 different abuses of the fund.

Provide any evidence for your last assertion about the Clinton Foundation, and "it is run by the Clintons (it actually isn't) therefore it must be corrupt" doesn't cut it.

"The Bill, Hillary, and Chelsea Clinton Foundation's tax returns from the year 2014 show that despite the organization's classification as a charitable organization, in fact most of the profits went to employees, and only 3% were donated to the various causes the foundation claims to support.

As a charitable organization, the Clinton Foundation's tax returns are publicly available from the National Center for Charitable Statistics' website.

In the 65-page 2014 form, the organization's total revenue was listed as $177, 804,612.00, with the total grants to charity amounting to $5,160,385.00.

Meanwhile, the organization's expenses amounted to $91,281,145.00.

This number included salaries for 486 employees ($34,838,106.00), fundraising fees ($850,803.00), and other expenses ($50,431,851.00).

The Clinton Foundation's 2014 net assets/ fund balances totaled $332,471,349.00, up $85,171,891 from 2013's tax return.

In November 2016, Hillary Clinton admitted to receiving $1 million from Qatar.

That's not been my experience. In the most recent example, ANY suggestion that mom needed to be someplace other than alone in her house was met with a fury. Even past the point where she could not remember the name of her husband of almost 50 years, and invented all sorts of bizarre versions of her past.
The family decided to just "wait for something to happen" that would convince her. It did, and we had to scramble to find a place that would take her on short notice.

When I see Joe Biden stumble mid sentence, unable to finish a simple thought, or forget the names of those he spent years with, it all looks very familiar.

I suspect some in his family tried to talk him out of running. But it's too late now. No we are all just waiting for "it" to happen; the thing that will convince almost everyone that he's just not there.
