The Bascom snowman...

... presiding over our beautiful campus...

What more brazen a display could there be of white privilege?

What would happen if a student put up a sign in front of the snowman?

Maybe it would read:

"Hi, I'm Olaf. I like warm hugs."

Goody, cafe post!

Why is the Finicum shooting in Oregon being buried?
I don't quite like the smell of this.A convoy of nine large blacked out SUV's did not come from the sheriff's office.
They say Finicum got out of his pickup, which he had stuck in snowbank, and "charged the officers" and "grabbed for his waistband." But in the pictures we have seen he is wearing a big old "hogleg" in a standard western gunbelt.
They say that they have a video of the shooting and are "discussing" whether to let it go public.
What the heck? This is a question for debate?

Where did the SWAT team that did the shooting come from?

According to Ed Driscoll on Instapundit, they are up to 30 or more SUVs and military SWAT vehicles and they have blocked off the highway leading past the refuge and are threatening to arrest anyone - including the media - who tries to go by.

Arrest them for what? Something that will be thrown out of court.

This is when you need someone like Ben Masel around. Get arrested, sue for damages, win.

Money talks.

No wonder the county sheriff has been crying. This looks like even the State has been put under martial law without a declaration.

They have released a video, but it is from a helicopter (???), not from the shooter's lapel camera (if any) or anyone's phone gizmo, and of course no dialogue.

They probably can do this, since it happened on BLM or Federal Refuge land, but I still don't think this is how it is supposed to work. A bunch of wrong-headed cowboys in the Oregon hinterlands is not an urban terrorist situation.

But this is the dot-com gentry in Portland making war on the rural population, and I guess they can't tell the difference.
