There are so many phallic skyscrapers.

It's good to see some representation for the vulva: DSC02008.JPG

ADDED: In the comments, some folks have trouble seeing what I'm talking about, and I admit to being influenced by that "snuck a snuke in her snizz" episode of "South Park." If you haven't seen it, just picture a female robot's genitalia. (Oh, don't tell me you don't do that all the time!) Then, Chip Ahoy offers up an image of a much more vulva-like building.

Wow! China! Aren't you blushing?

It's an actual laugh out loud moment reading the caption.

One sundial in the sky does not a vulva make.

Leastways I hope it doesn't. I prefer my vulvae nearer the ground - it's a vertigo thing.

When is the trip to the Whole Foods Headquarters? Is that on the itinerary.

It's really the only reason to bother going to Austin---the largest Whole Foods Market in North America !

I'm really surprised with all your peeps that live in Austin, not one of 'em has ever made the trip to that special Whole Foods.

Peace, Maxine

Thank goodness my wife's doesn't look like that.

I'm moving to Georgetown, TX (north of Austin) this very week. Heck we're packing tomorrow. We've already been planning our first trip to Whole Foods.

Does it have a vestibule?

"No, it's long and boxy and full of sharp edges and ouch-phallic."

Well, you have to do what you can within the confines of the medium. What're they going to do, dig a thirty story hole in the ground which serves as an atrium to adjoining underground offices? I suppose there's a geothermal argument for it, but it seems very Trantor-esque.

To me, it kind of looks like one of those Japanese warrior cartoon robot things, but I haven’t started drinking yet.

I’ll check back later and we’ll see how it goes.

I think I saw a vulva once but it was different. As near as I can remember.

Yeah well, mine doesn't have edges or a point like the Washington Monument.
Nor flames coming out the bottom like a Saturn V. Don't need a gantry either, so far.
People say stuff.

Ann, I hope you have the luxury of spending a few days in Austin. As a native Texan, I must confess its my favorite city.

If you have the time, check out Maceo Brothers Seafood on 4th street, on the west side of Congress Ave. They're former mafia brothers that were kicked out of Galveston, but the seafood is outstanding [I used to work there for them]. Not sure if they're still in business, but worth checking out.

Also the State Capitol building. Rivals even the federal Capitol. Geez, I also worked there for a bit for the SGT at Arms. So I'm biased, but its worth a tour if you have the time.

Funny story, the Senate broke another senator into tears. She had introduced a worthless lame duck bill, so when they called for a recess, another congress-critter ordered 100 rubber ducks and had them placed on each Senator's desk before they returned to vote on it. Texas politics is littered with crazy stories like that.

Are there any skyscrapers that aren't phallic? This one looks stumpy.

In appearance, Volvo maybe -- vulva, not so much.

I'm influenced by that depiction of Hillary Clinton on "South Park" last week. Also it helps to invert the image. It's pretty obvious you know. It even has a clitoris.

Aha! There's the problem: I never can find one of those without feeling around a bit.

So the reason I'm not "seeing" it is because, well, I don't read buildings by Braille.

Ruth Anne Adams said...

It's quite blue. One might even say it's an aqua vulva.

I've loved this building since I first saw it. I never equated it to the vulva, and frankly don't really see that now. But, as modern glass skyscrapers go it is a pretty one.

Welcome to Texas! We are richer for having you here.

Also it helps to invert the image.

Now she tells us!

Never seen 'South Park', but there was a Hillary 'upskirt' photo doing the rounds years back.

All steely white panties as best I recall. Nothing aquatic or vulvic or...not going there at this early hour...on display.

The building doesn't inspire any anatomical thoughts in me, but what's with the slanted floors up top?

Is that where they keep the steers that grew up on the hillside and have shorter legs on one side?

Ha ha.  Yes nice to see for a change.  But, harsh and unfluffy. Needs curves or water feature. Chinese 2008 Olypmic stadium.

I had heard a story on an architectural tour of Chicago that the Smurfit -Stone building in Chicago was designed by a female architect who, fed up with all of the "phallic" structures in Chicago the skyline, incorporated a more vaginal form in this building. It appears, however, that this story has been well debunked on snopes.

Check out the photo of the Chinese stadium with its red, retractable roof showing. That must be for when the pole vaulting takes place.

Prince better not ever play that Chinese stadium, or the next generation of Chinese will bury us -- in Sheer Funk! While we sit and play with our skyscrapers by ourselves!
