"It is my honour to burn for the sake of the nation's ideals and defend the system."
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad responds to hecklers at Tehran University upon seeing them set fire to a picture of him. So he's good with the comeback to hecklers. May he move on to a career as a standup comedian.

He's one funny guy, a regular Bob Hope.
"It is my honour to burn for the sake of the nation's ideals and defend the system."
The trick, of course, is to find away to make this happen for him before he finds a way to make it happen to us.
His honour, huh? I've got a crisp hundred dollar bill right here that says these kids burn before he does.
Cosmo Kramer: If you're not gonna be a part of a civil society, then just get in your car and drive on over to the East Side.
Would that he would self-immolate as easily. I'd happily provide the kerosene.
Notice that AFP carefully points out more students were agitating in Prez A's favor.
Long live anti-american, primitive yet authentic, fascistic but morally superior, regimes!
Hey, PatCA, you forgot to add
"that we vaguely suspect are somehow innately superior to our own racist western ways" in that bit about "authentic regimes."
Don't bother to thank me. It's the least I could do.
Is there any way we can help Ahmadinejad immanentize his personal eschaton?
Where's spontaneous human combustion when you really need it?
The real story of Ahmadinejad is one that surprisingly few people know. As far as I'm concerned, the next time he wants to address the U.N., let him land in New York. When he gets off the plane, he should be arrested and tried. He of all people has absolutely no legitimate (non-comedic) claim to any sort of diplomatic protocol whatsoever. Of course, I'm no lawyer...
May he move on to a career as a standup comedian.
I'd rather see him move on to a career as a corpse.
Note for the record that he doesn't specify WHOM it would be his honor to burn for his cause.
Huh. I have no leftist illusions about the (real) Persian theocracy that is Iran, but it is surprising that these students were allowed to burn his likeness without being shot on sight. I've gotta give them credit for that.
Might those students have been "Potemkin" protesters?
After all, his rejoinder seems rehearsed, and showing "tolerance" towards "dissent" is something that Iran claims is normal for their "democracy".
Iran is busy burnishing their image even while they continue their Holocaust denial and rush to develop nuclear weapons.
