Here's the mother's Instagram post showing the child's illustration of herself in the future as a nurse and the photographic AI image that bothered the mother so much. By the way, the child loved it.

"What was the educational benefit of showing her first-grader a theoretical image of a conventionally attractive 25-year-old woman?"
"And what impact might that have on her child’s developing imagination? Anderson was particularly troubled by the way the AI-generated image had seemingly eclipsed her daughter’s own ideas of what her adult life might look like; Harper was thrilled by the appearance of the pictured woman. 'That was the most heartbreaking part of it for me,' Anderson said. 'She said, "Maybe when I’m older I will look this beautiful," and I’m like — 'Oh my God, she’s so proud of how beautiful the picture of the person is.' At that point, it wasn’t about being a nurse or imagining herself in this empowered role, as a person in the world. It was about what she looks like at 25...."

ot: In Colorado - at a grade school in Littleton, the left brought in a DSA Socialist to propagandize the children in the public school.
Young kids have their heads filled with all kinds of external images. TV is a big one. I wanted to a cowboy or a combat soldier based on all the things I saw on TV as a kid. And then when I got older, I understood the last thing I wanted to be was Sgt. Saunders with his submachine gun. And being a cowboy was impossible.
Does this woman keep her daughter from watching TV? She should. God knows what crazy messages its putting in her head.
In the 1930s, people were writing books attacking movies for alterting young people's view of reality. We've been brainwashed by the media and external forces for a long time.
Worse things than being "Useful" - esp if useful means responsible and self-sufficient.
Would the mom prefer her daughter imagine a future where she's conventionally fat and unattractive?
We've run this experiment millions of times and it doesn't work out so well.
Let's consider this mother may not have had a problem with the school showing her daughter a future picture of her as a man.
Some people just enjoy complaining about things.
Is it too much to ask for schools to teach reading, writing snd math. We’re graduating high school kids who don’t know how to read but now with pictures in their pockets of how they’ll look at 25. Let’s leave kids with some imagination of what their future will look like and teach them the basics. (Also home ec and shop)
How much time did the teacher spend on crap like this that the kid could have done in 2 minutes at home. Of course much more fun then actually teaching.
Those kids would have gotten more benefit from drawing pictures of themselves in their future occupations instead of sitting passively while the teacher had fun.
By the end of first grade all those kids should know how to read. Get busy bitch.
It's called "schoolWORK" for a reason. Stop teaching much more beyond the basics.
The camera stole her soul and gave it to the machine!
Six-year-old girl likes idea of growing up to be an attractive woman. Readers horrified. Just go ahead and vote in the socialists today. Get it the fuck over with.
You're getting into dangerous territory when you try to read too much into what a 6 year old says and process what they say as if they were adults.
I actually suspect that might be a good approximation of what the child will look like based on what they look like today. And if the child thinks that they will be beautiful in the future, then there is an implication that they also believe that they're beautiful now. (Because the future image is based on the present image.) Also, the young woman in the photo looks happy and has an important job that helps people.
The proper way to handle this would be to encourage the child to look forward to the future and do what is required to have a nice future. Because children aren't fully formed adults, of course they're going to be superficial about a lot of things. That is not, in and of itself, a bad thing. It just needs to be guided in the right direction as they get older.
Obsessing abut having your idea of the perfect child, when the child is 6, is probably one of the worst things that a parent can do. It's a parent's job to guide the imperfect child into imperfect adulthood, not decide exactly what their child should be at every stage in their life so they can be their idea of the perfect person.
^^ 💯
Did AI make her picture look like an Asian in a naughty nurse Halloween costume, or turn her into a 6'4" Black man wearing scrubs?
Gotta wonder about that stuff. Have you seen the "Nazi soldier" images it creates? Asians and blacks in Nazi uniforms. Ugh. PC
We desperately need the cult of beauty to return. The political Left, for some reason, valorizes ugliness and decay. I don't get it. I guess because beauty "reinforces systems of oppression" or something. It probably "centers whiteness" too. So we are supposed to pretend that obese women wearing tight spandex are extremely brave and also beautiful. Lefties actually seem to enjoy being around ugliness. Just look at how they live and what filth they tolerate in their cities. I'm actually beginning to wonder if the human filth of their cities -- the junkies shooting up in storefronts, the homeless trash strewn everywhere -- is a bug or a feature of their political choices. No wonder they're into poverty porn when they travel. It's all "so real" and unlike their sterile cubicles and $8 lattes.
But don't you dare suggest they live in a nice leafy American suburb with boring buildings, less litter, functional services and far less crime.
The mother is a freak and an idiot.
The 6 year old girl sounds like a normal six year out girl.
What sort of psychotic parent flips out that her daughter is happy to think she's going to be a pretty adult?
