I see: "The performance draws a connection to Harry Houdini, who suspended himself from a crane in Times Square nearly a century ago. But instead of focusing on escape, Kinlaw’s performance centers on endurance."
How far we've come! What other feats of the past will be recreated with the central element omitted?

Somehow, this will turn political.
Like how Althouse snuck in an OED etymology of a word.
A daredevil will be placed in a barrel above the roaring Niagara Falls and pushed into the fast-flowing stream all while the barrel is moored to the shore by a stout cable.
“Somehow, this will turn political.”
Draws a connection to lynchings too.
see the novel "The Public Burning" by Robert Coover.
Hanging upside down is the stuff of Nightmares.
A great song and video.
Speaking of the human body and its limits and resilience, I see Cornell, taught a student to redefine "our bodies, ourselves" to mean "orgy at the frat house." Moreover, she kept her end up for seven hours while the several guys fell asleep and had to be awakened by her and urged back into activity. She is now accusing those same guys of rape, deploying "our bodies, ourselves" in its feminist meaning. What next? Believe all women, including the same one in her different identities? If she IS the same one how to reconcile the narratives? And is she a woman? because a Justice of the Supreme Court won't know the answer to that question if the case hoes that high.
It just shows that Cornell is still teaching irony, though not in the English Lit courses. So be careful what you wish for when you pay $90,000 for “The Ivy League eXperience. "Fuck the patriarchy!" That's a no no.
"Times Square has always been the site of spectacle, but with FALL RISK, that spectacle is reoriented around the human body and its limits, resilience, and exposure." Said Anna Starling.
She should change her name to Ann Eurysm.

LOL! Good one.
What if the best ideas are already here, waiting to be rediscovered?
Contemporary with Houdini was "Shipwreck Kelly," the flagpole sitter. Climbing buildings and jumping off them were also part of his repertoire, as was hanging by one hand from his flagpole platform. The more things change ...
Art? What "art?" ..........Oh. OK, it is a drawing performance - sketching or something. Says right there "The performance draws...."
What a lot of people don't realize is that when you get up over about 30' in the air at night, it gets really cold. (On a cold night, of course.) I spend so many nights on a boom lift, chilled to the bone, fixing the LED lights on the Ferris wheel after the park closed.
BTW, it gets even colder if you can't move around to generate body heat.
