Josephbleau said...: In our condo built in 1990, all the windows were stuck because proprietary plastic stops were broken or stuck and the screens were torn. I called the original architecture firm and they looked it up for me and gave me the name of the company that put them in. They came last month and were able to find the old replacement parts and replaced them all, and they slide perfectly and fixed all the screens. Now I don’t just run the air all the time, and the fall breeze is wonderful. I’m good for another 30 years!

I was mostly inadvertantly mouthing "Oh, f off" out the passenger window as we passed the driver, who, predictably, was a middle-aged woman with aggressively spiked electric blue hair. She happened to glance at me as I mouthed the words.

I was instantly abashed and a little nervous - did she read my lips? Was she unhinged and likely to come after us? (We have, after all, Texas plates.)

Then I realized that, first, my husband drives faster than almost anyone in the coastal PNW and we'd already left her in the dust, and second, she didn't have the balls, no matter what she might tell herself.

I don't tell myself that I would go after anyone who dared to disagree with my opinions; I would be fine with listening to them and even attempting a debate if they were willing.
