I have to wait for 30 minutes or so to have twilight on the morning run.

But the autumn cool dry air does make it really nice.

I wonder what the overlap is between people protesting a traitors execution being televised and people who celebrated Charlie Kirk's assassination on live TV... A Venn Diagram might be an almost perfect circle.

I’m interested Jaq. The globalist seem to be the Merkel descendent. Mertz, Macron. Are the populists the AfD and Le Penn? How do you see Europe moving. I do work in a Norway but they are not eu.

Two reasons for posting this YouTube video:
1 The name of the YouTuber is Siobhan.
2 Earlier today, the post about this year’s Nobel Prize Award for Literature contained this quote : “'Many toil in the interstices of genre,' Daisy Fried wrote in a 2013 review of 'Red Doc >' for The New York Times. 'Carson’s palatable, popular, sophisticated and who-cares approach may have done the most and best work in the last two decades to stop people worrying so much about what’s poetry and what’s not.'"
In this video Siobhan goes a little bit into them “interstices“ of literary genres.

YouTube : Natalie Portman's ex-friend wrote a book about her. And she hates it.

Don’t be dissuaded from watching, because the video is primarily about a cat fight between two big letter A artists.

And Trump is going to keep the strait of hormuz closed until the globalists are removed from power.

Canada is falling apart. Bolsanaro is on track to win. France is burning. Britain is about to deploy the army in their streets. AfD is winning. The US is going to produce Steel again. Trump just cancelled the foreign worked program for a dozen giant tech companies.

I know it gives you the sadz to see America and Americans doing well.

Trump threatens to ‘terminate’ top campaign advisers after revelation of work for pro-Russia Bosnia party ~ NY Post

“Russia, Russia, Russia!”—Trump used to complain.

Funny how the phrase keeps finding its way back into his own orbit.

Trump says Chris LaCivita and James Blair “do not work for me, other than as outside consultants.”

Ah, outside consultants. Because when your longtime political advisers are working for a Putin-aligned government while still operating in Trump’s political orbit, apparently they don’t work for Trump. And the lobbying firm representing Republika Srpska employs the daughter of Susie Wiles, Trump’s chief of staff.

They just work with Trump, for Trump’s political operation, and for Russia-friendly interests.

At some point, “Russia, Russia, Russia” stops being an accusation and starts looking suspiciously like the org chart.

This live steamed firing squad execution of the Fort Hood murderer is too long in coming.

The “firing squad” needs only to include two less than average ability shooters, who will take turns (and their time 😁) shooting hands, arms, feet, legs, stomach, balls… nothing immediately fatal and let the jihadi bleed out.

If that makes some quimbies think me a sick fuck, I’m okay with that.

I agree they should've offed this POS 17 years ago, but televising his execution? What purpose does it serve?

If it's some sort of message being sent to Muslim terrorists, televise them shaving his precious beard. That means more to them than their lives.

I want to know what the play is here. The Trump administration is going through a highly coordinated set of steps leading up to the midterms. You can see the pieces slowly fall onto place. I’d like to know what they think the impact of the execution will be. I’m assuming they’re relying on a reaction from the Democrats which will . . . do what exactly?
Maybe . . .
1.Reframe the war with Iran
2. Sharpen the difference between the Dems and Republicans on terrorism, specifically Islamic terrorism.
What else?

Eva Marie said...

I’m assuming that all these steps are made with the goal of helping the Trump Administration whether they win or lose the midterms . . . although they are playing to win the midterms. But win or lose, they are repositioning themselves in the political arena.

Eva Marie said...

You can see the pivot.

What’s also interesting to me is Amazon’s best seller list. Over half of the books on the list now are puzzle books and children’s books. That’s never happened before (in my unscientific estimation). Most of the rest of the books are escapist fiction. Very unusual.

Eva Marie said...

I’m also assuming they are positioning themselves for the 2028 elections. Could Ken Paxton be minority leader if they lose the midterms? He’s a fighter.

Aggie said...

@Eva Marie, maybe they have some insight on what the actual polling numbers are - I mean the inside-baseball professional polling. Maybe their insight is suggesting that the majority of voter's sentiments are against open borders, against H-1B visa abuse that cost Americans jobs, are pro-police, pro-ICE, and with a preference to support the action in Iran. Maybe the attention to these issues is designed to get Republicans to the polls to actually vote, and maybe the intelligence is suggesting that Democrats are already motivated by their own messaging.

It feels like they're prodding Republican voters, trying to juice turnout.

Eva Marie said...

I think that’s what’s behind the public execution. I think it’s supposed to appeal to men specifically and to motivate them to vote. Also gun ownership os going up, that’s got to be factored in there.

Eva Marie said...

They must have gamed that out.

Eva Marie said...

The Cornel play seems also to have backfired. A pox on college educations, value free sex, and a politicized judiciary. These are all conservative/Republican values. If the Democrats are right and colleges are a rapist’s playground, then maybe they need to be defunded in favor of on line education and trade schools - that’s also a conservative/Republican position.

Eva Marie, yes, and. The livestreamed execution is classic Trump 4D chess. Hasan's lawyers, joined by the usual amici, are going to move to stop the livestreaming and the firing squad method. The thing will get fought all the way up to SCOTUS. If Trump/Hegseth lose, oh well, they just got all those people to show their true colors right before an election. If T/H win, there will be one more piece of precedent saying the POTUS and SECDEF can do what the hell they want with the military.

And if they do get to livestream it, the usual suspects will take the normal peri-execution pearl-clutching to 11. Rightie outlets will show the stream. Lefties will show a block of dead air, or livestreams of the protesters wailing outside Leavenworth or wherever they do military DP nowadays. And probably some Muslim-on-the-street interviews. Oh and of course newsies will be doorstepping el-Sayed for comments, which he will refuse to give.

They just can't help themselves. Trump and Hegseth know it.

I think Hegseth is the real heir to Trump. It's too bad no one is talking about him for 2028. He could have Rubio as VP/Sergeant Major to talk him down from 30,000 feet as and when. CC, JSM

Globalism is a form of imperialism. So is outright imperialism. Become the global hegemon and you have become a globalist.

The Spectator praised Rubio's speech as the best political speech in years, but they also pointed out that his idea that ancient Greece prized '“relentless ambition,” “risk and glory” and “an impatience with the notion of impossibility, chafing at all boundaries and limits,”' goes against the Greeks' praise for moderation and balance and their fear of hubris, or excessive pride and arrogance. They say that he praised the values of Alcibiades, rather than those of Pericles. I don't know enough history to know if that's accurate. Pericles was pretty hubristic himself. Athens was done in by imperial overstretch.

You are on the right track.

It is funny to watch people forget that the polls all start closing the massive +democrat gaps in October right before the elections. It happens every time.

Midterms are a turnout election. People have noticed that Talarico and El Sayyid aren't exactly getting average democrats wet in the pants.

This is what retards like the Arkansas governor can't figure out. You don't shit on your voters right before you ask them to vote for you.

The inflation-adjusted comparison is only meaningful if you compare today’s prices with the entire Reagan era, not cherry-pick a particular year. Gasoline prices fell dramatically during his presidency.

And price-inelastic demand doesn’t mean price stability. It means consumers have limited short-term ability to change their consumption when prices rise. Gasoline prices have fluctuated substantially over the past 40 years, driven by oil markets, supply disruptions and geopolitics.

Calling gasoline price-stable for four decades isn’t economic analysis. It’s an argument looking for a convenient statistic.

An interview with Robert Zubrin (founder and president of the Mars Society) made this point a few years back.

**Athens was done in by imperial overstretch.**

Democratic Athens was indeed very stupid and arrogant in managing relations with its Athenian Empire Greek state so-called “allies”—which pissed them off greatly. But the real cause of Athens' loss in the Athens-Sparta Peloponnesian War was that Sparta traitorously allied with the Achaemenid Persian Empire, still standing terrifically mighty just east of the Aegean Sea. The combo was fatal to Athens.

You may be right. Look who’s come out with a new book right before the election - “Malcolm Gladwell’s most urgent book yet (The American Way of Killing): a provocative investigation of America’s epidemic of gun violence.”
