"I grew up feeling that I was a vehicle for male pleasure. I never really considered my own needs."

"My priority has been to make sure I don’t get rejected or abandoned. Therefore, I’m prioritising my partner’s enjoyment because the first thing I’m protecting is my safety. Maybe it is controversial to say it.... You tell some men they’re not satisfying you and it’s terrifying what the potential reaction could be. Understandably, we avoid that conflict at all costs. I don’t think I’m unique. I think what a lot of us are doing when we’re having sex is making sure he’s OK, because otherwise you’re going to be left alone and be some old spinster."

Perhaps she was a vehicle for male pleasure. An average looking woman can make a living with her hands or her brains. A good looking woman has that third money-maker. But now she has told off on her former.

Men and women have been not satisfying each other for millennia and pointing it out to your partner has been a difficult task for millennia. Nonetheless, learning to stand up for yourself in a way that values the other person is a key life skill we’re all responsible for learning.

Seems like you and David should have had a little chat, babe.

Oh, and maybe you should also have one with your therapist about your self esteem problem.

She grew up believing that she was a vehicle for male pleasure. Now she believes that males are vehicles for her pleasure? Something about this seems a bit off-kilter. There's probably some truth in what she says, but other people might be skeptical about how accurate her perceptions are.

This is a pretty sinister statement. Unless she actually was involved with abusers, it's a cowardly use of the word "safety."

If I'm skeptical it's because the word that always came to mind when I heard her music or watched the videos was "bratty." She may not have been as assertive as she would have liked, but it seemed like when she wanted something, she went after it and got it.

It seems like a lot of women have the goal of making women look as unattractive and evil as possible, at least to discriminating men.

RCOCEAN II said...

Ok. I'm not target audience for this. I'm sure women can relate.

Once again the movie The Invite obtrudes. It’s on demand now, and worth the eight bucks.

Or the song Poker Face, which if you reverse a verse or two suddenly makes perfect sense.

I get so tired of women claiming to have been helplessly fed messages like this. Lily Allen is 5 years younger than me, and all my life there has been a constant drumbeat of girl-power and reminders that my pleasure, feelings, etc., matter. Did her grandmother, or maybe her mother, get fed this message? Sure, that’s plausible. But millennials who weren’t raised in some sort of a restrictive subculture that limited access to the media? No, they just didn’t.

You would think sex robots would solve this for both sexes. It definitely will for many men, but women have been using sex robots for decades and for some reason we still get stuff like this. Perhaps perpetual dissatisfaction is a hallmark of the female condition...when was the last time their dildos said they love them!

RideSpaceMountain said...

@gilbar, the "what have you done for us lately's!" shall continue until morale improves.

In return for maintenance sex, she gets to sent him on quests for something or other she wants, a constant need of women for some reason. The maintenance sex is to show him that she's satisfied with him. That being satisfied in general.

Riding high...again? She had an album once. I have it, its pretty good. I don't know what she brings to the table that is interesting. She's just perpetuating a stereotype, here.

Boo f-ing hoo! This woman’s net worth is reportedly at least $4 million. That would pay for a lot of therapy or a lot of alternatives. Prioritizing a sex partner’s enjoyment is not a bad thing for either sex even for a neurotic AWFL.

Christopher B said...

You know what "Mean Girl" culture runs on? The fear of being rejected and abandoned, and avoiding (direct) conflict.

n.n said...

"don’t project your personal mental and..."

Exactly, most men and women consider each other equal and complementary, then reconcile differences of the sexes and individuals as mature people do.

Goetz von Berlichingen said...

Her comments tell me that she's awful in the sack. Men want women who get pleasure from pleasing their partner, Women want the same thing from men. Good long-term sex is getting off from your partner getting off.

Pro tip: any woman who thinks she is a vehicle for male pleasure is not.

So whether a woman has an orgasm or not is solely the responsibility / fault of the man? Sounds very feminist.

It's surprising no one has mentioned how many women use men as a vehicle for female sexual pleasure. It's a surprising amount. There's a hubbub about just such a case right now.

Men. Plural.

I have questions.

She's a rich "pop star."* She has money. She (presumably) had money when she met the guy. Or at least the talent to make a lot of money.

Why did she marry him? If she didn't like the sex, why didn't she tell him that before she agreed to marry him? It's kind of a big thing. If she married him because she didn't want to be alone, she's the deceitful one.

*Who I have never heard of, but I never heard of this actor either. I'm not the target demographic.

Women like her are probably why gigolos are so expensive. With all her money it's hazard pay for attempting to fill her ocean of discontent with a teaspoon.

I haven't been pricing gigolos lately. May have to raise my rates.

Seem pertinent. The headline implies that you're getting used toys. Kind of like that Marine charity thing.

Lily Allen makes approximately $10,000 per month (or roughly $8,000 after platform cuts) from her OnlyFans account.

Subscription Price: She charges $10 per month for her exclusive foot content.

Subscriber Count: She has roughly 1,000 subscribers, which brings in about $10,000 in gross monthly revenue.

Comparison to Music: She revealed that this side venture earns her more money than her royalties from nearly 8 million monthly listeners on Spotify.

Origin: She launched the account in mid-2024 after discovering she had a five-star rating on the foot fetish site WikiFeet and getting the idea from her pedicurist.”

Why are modern white women so proudly pathetic?

KellyM said...

Lily Allen comes from money; her father was someone very successful in the entertainment industry so she’d been around that environment her whole lfe. She used those contacts to get into the music business and made a name for herself with some very catchy pop tunes in the 90s and early 2000s. She knew the score.

But, she also has the sort of poor decision-making and lack of real world experience of all nepo babies that ends up putting herself in danger and costing others a lot of money. At some point she bought a large country house somewhere in England, and out of misplaced sympathy for the “poor, unfortunate migrants”, read: invaders, she invited a bunch to move in and stay for a while until they got acclimated. (yeah, right). Well that didn’t go very well for our Lily because, well, the invaders do what they do, and eventually she had to flee with her children because they wouldn’t leave and were giving her lovely country house the “Camp of the Saints” treatment.

Always willing to help a fellow stud for free. If you're young flat fees are a good strategy to build a little black book of business, but in the big leagues, benefits are a-la-carte.

Intimacy costs extra.
Cuddling costs extra.
Bridesmaid's arm candy costs extra
Ketamine...costs extra.

Lily cried because she couldn't get sexual satisfaction and couldn't tell her partners about it.

Then she met her brother Alfie, who was castrated on "Game of Thrones," and somehow her problem didn't seem that important.

Biff said...

She's one of those singers whom the critics say is somehow important, but I can't recall anything she's done, even though I tried to listen to some of her stuff a few times. Her biggest claims to fame are the time she couldn't remember how many abortions she had (four or five, she thought) and that she identified as a hard-core socialist before it was cool. She's among the most insufferable people in the business.
