Said House Foreign Affairs ranking member Rep. Greg Meeks, quoted in "Capitol agenda: Dem gavels are coming for Elon Musk/Democrats have long eyed investigating the world’s richest man and the GOP’s top donor. They may get their chance if they win back congressional power in November."
That's in Politico this morning, along with this: "Democrats have a message for Elon Musk: Watch out/From DOGE to Ukraine, the uberwealthy GOP donor could be an irresistible target if House gavels change hands."

He was already a target under the Biden administration.
Elon's response should be to just point at the debt clock.
But radical billionaire Soros types and chi com puppets like Tech billionaire Neville Roy Singham
- who pay democrats to behave as loyal mob units - get a pass.
The Democrat party is a mob Crime Syndicate.
The Soviet Model is useful to the Chi Com Democrat Party.
When you want power, you take it away from others who have power.
Musk builds and creates - and refuses to give in to the corrupt left mob.
The democrats are evil and shameful. Fuck them all.
"...an irresistible target"?
"Calculated" is far from "irresistible."
Let me remind you that Greg Meeks is the black congresscum from New York who cries racism at the drop of a dime, and was one of the main objectors and resistors when The Bush administration wanted greater financial oversight on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac in the run up to the crash of 2007-2008. Just another lifelong Democrat Party scumbag getting rich on the government teat and rolling in dough stolen from USA taxpaying citizens.
Unfit to hold ANY power. These thieving, psychotic Democrats don’t belong here in America.
But going after Ilan is improper.
Trump should pardon musk for any all possible crimes.
The Democrats want to destroy their opposition and they use their power to its utmost to accomplish their goal. The Republicans just want to "reach across the aisle" and make $$.
The why the R's in Congress never use their power to hurt the D's. And D's do the opposite.
Yes, what a winning message: 'If elected, we'll hound our political enemies !' That's what the voters are hungry for ! Retribution, plus more illegal immigrants !
Everybody raise your hands, who loves the Biden years? Then tell us, who is the face of the modern Progressive Democrats? What is their inspiring message?
It seems like a lot of Democrats have the goal of making Democrats look as unattractive and evil as possible, at least to discriminating citizens.
some people wonder WHY they should vote Republican this election..
some people wonder HOW things could get worse...
some people are Blind
Revenge... that is all the Democrats think about... that and hate.
Vote Republican folks... don't vote for the hate party.
Its a siren song for the numerous idiots we have to share the vote with. I don't even understand how they can breathe without screwing it up.
Retributive change. #HateLovesAbortion
Everybody complains about waste fraud and abuse but the moment we try to quantify it and address it the DSA-DNC red-green alliance goes to war against whoever UNCOVERS THE FRAUD, not the perpetrators or the facilitators or the people lugging full suitcases of cash to Mogadishu. This is a good article on which to open a real dialogue about whether we keep our generous public benefits or end them because Democrats obstruct any move to reduce fraud. Like the 750,000 fake “enrollees” in Obamacare: D candidates keep referring to them as if they were real Americans who lost their healthcare but JD Vance revealed fewer than 0.001% of the disenrolled have even contacted HHS about it.
CIA agent Elissa Slotkin says that if/WHEN the Democrats are back in power; they will go door to door, rounding up all Republicans, and sending them to gulags.
To Be Fair to Ms Slotkin, she Says that she was taken out of context; and that by "all Republicans" she mearly meant "MOST"
Meeks needs to keep the grift machine going. Musk is in the way.
..they’ve also said they’ll target and ‘investigate’ ‘his’ companies, which means they are really targeting his shareholders, which means anyone with a diversified 401k, pension funds, including teachers and public employee pension funds or iow the traditional Democrat base. Maybe they think they can abandon all those people because they have the illegal immigrant and communist vote locked up?
…they aren’t serious about a full accounting of the damage caused by DOGE since they would be confirming how much fraud they themselves perpetrated over the years…
The left want to destroy the free flow of information.
the corrupt left demand a loyal soviet style obedient one party state government run media machine. They demand a BS NOW / CNN media model.
The real reason to go after Musk is X. The mob left HATE X.
2030's predicted democide keeps getting ahead of schedule and overbudget.
Nice to read that top Dems have new policy ideas and aren’t just broadening their TDS to include MDS.
The times, they've been a - changin
Come Democrats, Socialists, you gotta keep up
Admit that the waters around you have grown
Your sons and your daughters are beyond your command
The old road is rapidly aging
Please get out of the new one if you can't lend your hand
For the times, they've been a - changin
Musk could dump ten billion dollars into thecRNC and barely notice he spent the money. So part of this is hollow posturing.
OTOH there was plenty to complain about with DOGE. One of my acquaintances was an experienced auditor working for HHS who had identified $77 million in Medicare fraud and built the case. After he was laid off another part of HHS took the case forward, but note to Elon Musk, ultimately you do not save the government money by doing away with federal auditors. The reason why you don’t is because the federal model is to make a few cursory checks on the application for payment under any of the myriad safety net programs, pay out the money, serious audit financial disbursements later, and try to claw the money back. A crazy way to run things, but that’s how the system works. And without auditors the system falls apart.
Trump could have saved himself a lot of trouble; makes you wonder what Bibi has on him. Years ago Trump is supposed to have said that almost all presidents could have had more successful presidencies if they could just resist going off on adventures.
Government is too big to fail. DOGE was a failure because of this.
Unfortunately, if dems win, we will here nothing but Trump failures, and nothing will change. But the libs will feel better about themselves.
Please Dear Lord, anything but the Democratic gavels.
Slotkin is former CIA. Her family used to own Ball Park Franks, so either way, she knows how the sausage is made.
THE DEMOCRACY FILES, PART 2: WHEN AND HOW TO DECLARE THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT ILLEGITIMATE (Sorry for all caps but that's the heading on X.)
"Some questioned whether a group of 200 ex-USAID officials could actually pull off their ambitions to rewrite the Constitution.
Here, they describe exactly how it works. They aren't working alone.
The videos all come from Renew to Thrive (R2T) group and associates. Danielle Reiff and Paul Zeitz play key roles within R2T.
R2T sits inside a much, much larger umbrella called United Democracy Alliance (UDA), which is an extremely hush-hush control plane of leaders from major "blocking" NGOs such as 50501 and Indivisible fulfilling various functions. UDA decides when protests get deployed, timelines, how to respond, all that.
...
It must be emphasized that the choice of a military-oriented organization to coordinate NGOs across domestic protests is an interesting one all in itself - especially in an umbrella conceived by a regime change expert like Chenoworth.
You will have a hard time finding any mentions of UDA in the public. They are extremely hush-hush and selective who they talk to."
More to follow...
Continued:
"As the audio transcript shows, they have outlined a sequence of "redlines" in which case the federal government should be declared illegitimate. Invoking the Insurrection Act against "peaceful" protesters is one of the most discussed redlines. I will post the illegitimate criteria below, but basically, almost any effective pushback against NGOs is a measure of illegitimacy according to them.
Important to understand:
The audio shows they shopped this idea around governors, but the reality is that governors do not have to explicitly sign on to the pact to play their role in the coup. All they have to do is refuse troops in their state and let UDA / R2G do the work of dissolving the federal government."
What Peachy said at 9:18. Also, buy guns!
How dare Musk look at the corruption and fraud of the Congress??
Recently read: Blockers: Rebels in the Deep State by Michael Lewis (a nice companion to this post that may be available on the Althouse Amazon link)
Lewis’s most recent book tells the story of the people who resisted Elon Musk’s 18-week campaign to dismantle much of the US government.
The book examines DOGE’s mass firing of thousands of civil servants whose work the country needs and Congress had already funded. Rather than reducing waste, DOGE created more of it.
Blockers isn’t about relitigating the 2024 election or debating presidential decorum. It’s about the real-world consequences of an expensive bureaucratic boondoggle that made government less efficient and less responsive and cost taxpayers an additional $135 billion in its first year alone. That figure doesn’t include the enormous costs of lawsuits triggered by Musk and his allies’ alleged illegal looting and pillaging of public institutions.
Lewis brings calm clarity to an otherwise shouty, hostile environment. He looks beyond the sound bites to tell the stories of the people caught in the crossfire.
Michael Lewis is never going to run out of things to write about, is he?
Democratic National Corporation
Huh? I’ve been told that Democrats will be focused on cutting the deficit and energy prices if they’re elected.
DOGE is gone because it got what it wanted: access to the personal data of millions of Americans. Possibly the largest data breach in US history, all under the guise of government efficiency.
Weren't Democrats just crying "No political prosecutions!"?
That didn't age well, did it?
A more accurate statement would be “Democrats demand restoration of their $40 billion money-laundering and fraud generating USAID program.”
“Trump should pardon musk for any all possible crimes.”
And anyone else he likes. It’s now traditional for a president leaving office.
As fashionable as it is to hate on Ayn Rand, she called it perfectly. It's almost as though there are jackasses out there who actually read "Atlas Shrugged" and saw it as a how-to guide.
Fascist = Democrats = Fascist... who knew?
Doing my rat killing this morning, errand after errand. NPR is all election, all the time this week, apparently. Report after report, man on the street. Amazing how many disappointed Republicans and stalwart, plucky Democrats they are coming across. Republicans, life-long all of them (it would seem), wagging their heads, more in sorrow than in anger. They just can't imagine how it got this bad.
It's all an op. It's all about persuading voters to believe life is bad and they'll make it better. I've heard virtually no policy positions. I've heard a litany about how nothing is affordable anymore, but the inflation rate was much worse under Biden. So were gas prices.
The one burning question for me is this. Over and over again, we were informed that it was impossible to close the border. Over and over again, DHS and Biden and every related czar told us it was impossible to stop the flow. We were treated to pictures of streams, heaving mobs of people walking in. Then Trump was elected and it stopped on Day 1, and remained stopped every since, not even a trickle. Compare and contrast to pictures from Europe, where it wasn't stopped.
How does that work? Who was lying? Who? All of them, that's who, through their teeth, in your face. Remember that when you go to vote.
Who could have guessed that Democrats have no intention of addressing any of the current issues they supposedly care so deeply about?
Our panties are in a bunch because Democrats are threatening to investigate a guy Donald Trump threatened to deport?
A reminder that DOGE as a concept was conceived by Obama.

I agree with crimso at 10:48.
100%
Bless their hearts. Two years of shutdown and impeachment theater and Rubio waltzed into the White House.
I used to think we were living in a bad detective novel. Now I realize we are living in a Dr. Seuss fantasy.
If only William Tweed had had the foresight to arrest and imprison Nash for presenting such hate ridden stereotypes in his cartoons, then he, Twee could have lived out his life in comfort and pleasure and New York would be graced with many more billion dollar courthouses.......The SPLC shows the way. They classify people they don't like as bigots and get them debanked and defunded.. I'm pretty sure some liberal Jewish organization will get around to charging Netanyahu for anti-semitism or war crimes.
Please, please make DOGE the issue.
Lets hear about what USAID was--a gigantic Democrat propaganda slush fund.
Remember that babies were going to starve if USAID funding was cut. But what mostly got starved were Democrat NGOs and their political operations.
Also Michael Lewis. Hah.
Here's what Gemini AI says in response to my query as to whether the role of Barney Frank was addressed at all in "The Big Short (book or movie):
"No, Barney Frank’s role is not addressed in Michael Lewis' book, The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine.
Just like the movie adaptation, the original book leaves out Congressman Barney Frank entirely. Michael Lewis focused his investigation strictly on the mechanics of Wall Street—how bond traders, rating agencies, and hedge fund managers created and traded complex subprime mortgage derivatives.
Because the book targets the private financial sector rather than the government's legislative housing policies, political figures involved with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, or the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) do not appear as characters or focuses in the narrative."
This confirms my recollection. Can you say "Democrat hack?"
These people that have the government's favor, then fall from grace, are so much like the historical Kdramas/Cdramas I watch. One day, you are a trusted adviser to the emperor. The next day, framed for treason and marched to the execution grounds.
"Please, please make DOGE the issue."
Imagine how bad your policies must sound to normal people, to choose to run on opposition to eliminating fraud.
How about we calculate how much money the Dems have stolen from the federal government. Let's start with MN.
Fuck Greg Meeks. What the fuck has he ever done other than get himself elected?
Wiki. "In 2013, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington named Meeks as one of the most corrupt politicians in Washington.[17] This was as a result of claims that he purchased a home for over $150,000 less than it was worth,[18] met with former Venezuelan president Hugo Chávez on behalf of a donor,[19][20][21] and failure to disclose a private loan on congressional financial statements."
Buddy with Hugo Chavez. Interesting.

Calling USAID a “Democratic propaganda slush fund” doesn’t make it one. It makes for a convenient political slogan. USAID delivered food, fought deadly diseases and supported humanitarian relief around the world under presidents of both parties. Was every dollar well spent? Of course not. Find the waste, expose it and hold people accountable. But pretending an entire aid agency was a Democratic political operation requires evidence, not innuendo.
And the claim that starving children were merely a talking point to protect Democratic NGOs? That’s a cynical dismissal of a real humanitarian crisis. Some NGOs may have had political agendas; that doesn’t mean the children who depended on food, medicine and emergency assistance were fictional props in a partisan game.
As for Michael Lewis, the Barney Frank argument is a non sequitur. The Big Short examined how Wall Street created, packaged, rated and profited from toxic mortgage securities. The fact that Lewis didn’t make Frank a character in that story proves precisely nothing about his political allegiance. A book has a scope; it isn’t an encyclopedia of everyone who might have contributed to a crisis.
Want to challenge Lewis? Challenge his facts, his sources or his conclusions in Blockers. Show where he’s wrong.
But citing an AI-generated answer about a different book, pointing to an omission and declaring “Democrat hack” isn’t investigative criticism. It’s partisan name-calling dressed up as analysis.
If the facts are on your side, make the case. If all you’ve got is a label, you haven’t made one.
Yah Michael Lewis is a leftie hack what ran interference for Bawnhee Frank and the rest of the Democrats who were constantly on cable news threatening the banks if they refused to lend to people- minorities, specifically, that had no economic business getting a mortgage…
Big Short was like Godzilla without the lizard…
"Find the waste, expose it and hold people accountable."
That's what DOGE was doing and now the dems are threatening to imprison them.
It starts the story in the third act after the cra revisions about the doj nudge that necessitated the cdos
"and now the dems are threatening to imprison them."
For Democrats, the "waste" was the money they weren't able to steal.
The left sure likes to make threats against private citizens, don't they?
A bunch of thugs. Nothing more.
*Trump could have saved himself a lot of trouble; makes you wonder what Bibi has on him. *
Would it be possible for you to stay on subject just once?
I wonder if Althouse even reads these false and incendiary articles she keeps linking to? We get her opinions on the most ridiculous and vacuous articles but nothing on this garbage. Gotta figure she's just chumming the commentariat waters.
Our panties are in a bunch because Democrats are threatening to investigate a guy Donald Trump threatened to deport?
It's different when democrats make the threats. They are crazy!
Elissa Slotkin said that Democrats should do what they can to intimidate young people who might want to work for Trump. Then when she got pushback, she said Republicans were trying to intimidate her because she was a woman, either because they felt threatened or thought like she'd be a pushover. No self-consciousness in the woman. It was also a strange comment to make since Trump will be gone in a little over two years.
Time Magazine posted photos of dozens of people it blamed for the 2008 crash. Dodd and Frank were nowhere to be seen. Clearly, they did play a role. as did other Democrats who were also not mentioned. And now the current AI talk convinced those who didn't know that big business welcomes regulation.
The best case scenario is letting the Democrats subpoena all of the Republican donors and try to throw people they hate in jail for 2 years before 2028.
They also need to impeach Trump at least 17 times.

Nope. This is allllll on Trump. The "six week war." That's our Trump! It was his brilliant idea. Remember: he's the one who called Putin {{checks notes}} a geniusfor starting a war with Ukraine.
A genius!
Trump said hold my Diet Coke! I'm even geniusier! I am a very stable genius! I will start a six week war with Iran that will last for the rest of our lives!
This shit is 100% Trump.

What war?
The strait of hormuz is closed until Europe is defeated. I don't see any war anywhere.
I see a blockade on Britain and Europe and their catspaw in Iran. and a complete reordering of the World Economy.
Only retards are complaining about a war that doesn't exist.
People are complaining about the Democrat war on diesel refineries.
They are just too stupid to figure out the media is lying to them.
IEE/Rich--your standard trope of "Just because you make an assertion doesn't mean that it is true " is really getting tired.
It's my opinion.
If you think I'm wrong then refute my claims.
If there are kids dying because the "humanitarian relief" that supposedly was provided by the $50 Billion dollar operation that was USAID has dried up, then there ought to be plenty of evidence that is happening because USAID is no more. $50 Billion dollars a year ought to feed an awful lot of kids. Even with generous 5% overhead and assuming a generous $5000 per kid per year, $50 Billion should feed a minimum of 8 Million kids. Yet we hear very little. I wonder why.
What I do know is that a massive chunk of that $50 billion went to Democrat-affiliated NGO's and media operations.
Why don't you come up with some actual "proof" that I am wrong--so that I can check it and refute it. Otherwise get bent.

You asked for evidence. Here it is.
Your $50 billion calculation starts with the wrong premise. USAID wasn’t a giant food bank whose entire budget was spent feeding children. It funded global health programs, HIV/AIDS treatment, emergency relief, disease prevention and economic development, among other things. Dividing its total budget by an assumed $5,000 per child doesn’t establish how many children it should have fed.
And your claim that we hear very little about the consequences? The Associated Press reported in February 2026 that funding cuts had left the World Food Program in Afghanistan able to reach only a fraction of those needing assistance, forcing it to turn away three out of four malnourished children. That’s documented reporting, not a hypothetical.
You also claim a massive chunk of USAID funding went to Democratic-affiliated NGOs and media operations. Where is the evidence establishing that those recipients were Democratic political operations, rather than humanitarian organizations, development contractors or media subscriptions? Those are very different things.
FactCheck.org has documented how several prominent claims about USAID funding to media outlets misrepresented ordinary government subscriptions as political payoffs.
And there’s an important distinction here: you can believe eliminating USAID was justified. That’s a policy opinion. But claiming the agency was primarily a Democratic slush fund is a factual allegation, and it requires evidence.
The GAO reported in September 2026 that the government lacked complete and accurate data on foreign-aid awards and staffing following the restructuring. That makes transparent accounting more important, not less.
By all means, demand accountability for every taxpayer dollar. I do, too. But apply that standard consistently: scrutinize waste, establish where the money went, and distinguish documented misconduct from partisan suspicion.
You asked for proof. I’ve provided specific reporting and official oversight findings. The question now is whether you’re willing to examine that evidence, or whether you’ve already decided what it must mean.
