Is this the new "Me Too" movement?

"An Illinois mother allegedly hanged her 2-year-old son that she described as the 'anti-Christ' — hours after discussing the Lindsay Clancy case with friends...."
"Corie Walsh, 38, is facing first-degree murder charges after one of her neighbors found Walsh’s son, Barrett, hanging from the rafters in the family’s basement.... Walsh allegedly told investigators she killed her young son because he’s the 'anti-Christ' and 'devil,' according to prosecutors. Little Barrett was found with his feet off the ground, and a ligature around his neck.... Walsh was reportedly found lying in a bathtub, fully clothed and drenched in bloody water."

Can a i identify as a “Postpartum depressive” by paying for a (look up a day old post) …surrogate mother to have a child so I can experience the… you see where I’m going. I don’t have to get graffiti on here.
If you could kill baby Hitler in his crib, would you? Same logic.
I was tempted to say something snarky about today's women, but just can't. Are we going collectively insane?
Love the tag AA put on this post “motherhood”.
Women and "burdens" of evidence, first.
The Left gave us Lindsay Clancy.

I will say this to anyone who has ears and will hear
God calls on us to love our children. Not deny them, not stab them, not poison them. Love your babies.
"Are we going collectively insane?"
...it is a horrifying mess of collective medial arrogance, female empowerment, astro-turf campaigns demanding politically favored groups are granted entitlement to commit crimes, violent crimes absent any consideration to victims, bizarre laws and legal precedent...it's difficult for me to make light of any of it...
Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey just signed a law permitting abortion up to 9 months gestation to the cheers of hundreds.
These ladies in the news merely extended the timeframe a few years. What’s the beef?
Like RAATs scurrying of a sinking ship of state and mind, these are the "burdens" of living in interesting times. Innocent until proven sane.
Demon possessed. How else to describe it?
Reminds me of a viral video (kept getting recreated) that I didn't pay much attention to but now it seems relevant.
ai: "Who would you save first, your wife or your children?":
"The "House Fire" Prank / Scripted Videos: There are several viral TikTok variations where a wife films herself asking her husband this exact question out of nowhere (often while he is relaxed or playing video games). His panic trying to answer "correctly" provides the comedic hook for the video."
Did it ever occur to anybody that a protected class, "women and children", would turn on itself? Or, maybe are we just going Roe-v-Wade 2.
Massachusetts is a RAAT hole. That said, it's Diversitist to not be equitable and inclusive of feminine-adjacent and masculine "burdens" of state and mind. Human rites for everyone, now... brown cow. #NoJudgment #NoLabels
"Is this the new "Me Too" movement?"
We certainly hope not,
Link viral video I reference above Sorry I forgot to link. Got rusty in one day away from here ;-)
Demos-cracy is aborted at the twilight fringe, in darkness, under Democratic prescription relieve your "burden". Your mind, too, when you can afford it.
The women in America are not all right...
Cut off their healthcare!
Best not to have em, grrrls?
Lol. Do we need to pay people to up the birthraye now? What do we do???
You could make a career of those ponderings...heh.
Matt Walshes kin?
Clancy...Walsh...
Too small a sample set to make an observation?
Ann... you womenfolk are causing trouble again.
Meade... talk to her before she influences again?, Go scare her with a doe? Lol
An incorporation of wicked solutions under an umbrella cooperation. A wicked solution to a "burden" of state and mind. May you live in interesting times.

The boomers are dying and the mothers today are all being judged... do better, ladies! Up your games!
"...discussing the Lindsay Clancy case with friends...."
I gave an Uber ride from the airport to a couple coming to spend time with their daughter and go to the UGA game in Athens, later today. I asked the customary questions, when I sense people are up for pleasantries. They where coming from Mass. I told them I had lived there and the rest to the ride was just wonderful. At some point the conversation started winding down, it was a long ride, Well over 1 hr. The thought of this case, taking place in Mass, came to mind, to bring up as a topic. I nixed the idea in my head. It's just too unpleasant. If they had brought it up, fine. I would have mostly listened. Not offer much.
Replace em all with surrogates!
Men dont need women, eh?
Have a good weekend on the blog...
A caller to the Howie Carr radio show yesterday claimed the state of Massachusetts has the highest ranked medical care in the country. Quite an endorsement here.
Weak-willed women want witchcraft.
Gemini told me that there are approximately 200 cases per year of maternal filicide in the US.
This new death is on the ladies in pink.
Filicide is so profoundly repugnant in all its forms. It just seems so against nature to the majority of us, and I am no different. And whether it's just due to my age and upbringing, I will copt to getting more angry when it's a mother, just because of my own feelings about the role of motherhood. I suspect that I am not alone, fair or not.
People are rightly outraged by the murder of children in particular, and even more so when a parent or parents are involved. Let's look at some of broad outlines statistically.
Overall, mothers and fathers murder their born children in roughly equal numbers. This is quite different than the statistics for murder and crimes of violence overall between women and men.
For children under age 1, women are the more likely perpetrators. For children under age 6, 61% of killings are committed by parents, split about 30% by women and 31% by men (and the rest "other"). The vast majority of child-killing takes place in this age cohort, with about third of those under age 1. Note that about 72% of all parental child-killing occurs in this age cohort. Also note that a large proportion of the deaths between 1 and 3 (toddlerhood) are due to "fatal maltreatment," as opposed to outright intentional murder, and both women and men contribute to these stats. Of course, the children are just as dead!!!--and it's just as reprehensible.
At that point, the statistics diverge. From 6 to 15, filicide accounts for about 10% of child murders, and most are committed by men, not women. Men commit between 60% and 70% of these. At age six, mothers and fathers committing filicide are split about 50-50. But by age 8, it shifts definitively to fathers.
For filicides occurring between 9 and 15, fathers are responsible about 66% of the time, with mothers obviously responsible for the rest. From 16 to 18, about 80% of filicides are committed by fathers.
As an aside, in the case of stepparent filicide, about 90% of perpetrators are men. Of course, stepchildren are statistically at much more risk of fatal abuse than biological ones. Now, to be clear, 90% of filicides are committed by biological parents, and 10% by stepparents.
None of this is intended to justify what happened to the murdered Clancy children or any other case like it. But I do think some perspective is valuable when we're discussing the horrible issue of filicide.
The new “having it all” is the power to create and the power to destroy.
I want to acknowledge that I did not due a "deep dive" into this--that could be a book, no doubt! But the statistics stem from reporting by the justice department, NIH, and a 32-year longitudinal study by Brown University. I suspect that if people think about it, the statistics comport with what we see and hear about in real life.
It’s the latest thing, doncha know.
I will also say that it in my view, it's a mistake to derive larger conclusions from individual cases that get massive, sensational press coverage. It skews perspective and ultimately isn't helpful in fixing the overall problem. Again, just my opinion.
The article says that three other children were found unharmed inside the home so it's nice to know the mother retained her discernment.
Hi, Chickelit!
The kid stole one too many cookies. He had to go.
Eric, does that make it easier or harder to claim insanity?
Social contagion spreading through females has been recognized since the Salem Witch Trials, was widely recognized as a rash of eating disorders plagued teenage girls in the late 80s and early 90s, followed by a smaller cutting (self harm) outbreak and leading into the trans-children affliction that started just before the Fake Pandemic, peaked a couple years ago and is almost back to the tiny percentages that are seen in the prior social contagions.
Some liken those fads to the boom in males self-identifying as “on the (Autism) spectrum” in the 90s through to today. I blame social media for amplifying and promoting social diseases like these fads.
I'm not getting all this 'alleged' in reporting?!

That really bothers me. What an awful question! For me, I told my husband, explicitly, that if anything ever happened threatening injury or death to me and my son, he was absolutely to save our son, without hesitation. I thought this was normal! From the first day of my son's life, which involved a very difficult birth and medical intervention for both me and my son, it was that way, and I told my husband to follow my son out of the birthing room and Stay With Him. I didn't see my son again until about 8 hours later, but I was comforted by knowing my son was under the watchful eye of his father.
This kind of game makes me really, really angry.
Feminists must be just so damned proud!
I mean, not as angry as filicide, but still, pretty outraged.
The Left is a death cult
What do the Aztecs, Mayans, Incas and American Feminists have in common? They all execute(d) child sacrifices. While the Aztecs, Mayans and Incas are long gone, American Feminists are going strong.
Having visited the Mayan child sacrifice ovens in Belize is a sobering sight. It sets you back on your heels.

You would likely lose some serious coin if comments go down again, eh?
I will repeat my comment from the previous post: Is it just me, or do the current issue of modern women appear to be completely unprepared for actual life in this world?
I'm not being funny here. I mean this in all seriousness. Today's women, particularly progressive women, or those who have been indoctrinated and trained to be progressive women, have been turned into crazy people. And here's the good news: They are numerous.
They hold high corporate positions, major media positions, and most teaching positions. And yes, they are all over our governmental entities, some up front, but most behind the scenes, preparing policy.
I know, there are some who would say it's wrong to make such large statements based on a few sensational stories. And that it's not helping.
One: it's not a few sensational stories. There are multitudes of instances- large and small, but all telling- of today's women in the 18-35 year range, acting out in extremely abnormal ways. Everyday in everyday places.
Two: I'm not here to offer up a one-shot solution. There may be many solutions. To me all of our problems lie at the feet of our education system. It's garbage. And it's had a 30+ year run unimpeded, to indoctrinate our young people with whatever the daily, monthly, or annual cause turns out to be. And those causes have been numerous and have replaced basic knowledge: history, economics, mathematics, civics, and common sense with social narratives.
We have simultaneously set our young boys and men to the side, while raising up our young girls and women into the heights, but placing them on a foundation of garbage. And at some point this all comes home to roost.
A lack of married young people and a falling off the cliff of our replacement rate is a large sign that something is very wrong here.
Also- killing your young children might be considered another sign we're off into a wrong place. That thousands of women will set aside their "I'm with Hamas" signs to pick up a sign that says "I'm with that woman who murdered her 3 small children" speaks volumes about where we are.
If you cannot see this, I suggest you start looking sharper.
Gilbar at 753 wins the thread.
Is this the new "Me Too" movement?
One of the dangers of feminism is that it puts woman first, above the rest of humanity. So the first "me too" movement was about the dangers of man. And this new "me too" movement is about the dangers of children.
I don't think feminism is actually helpful to girls or women at this point. It's leading them into dark and fearful places. There's been a lot of journalism lately about how feminism has been bad for boys. And that's obviously true. But it's also been quite bad for girls.

I despise the use of filicide as a feminist issue. I despise it as an effort by some women to progress their feminist views. I ALSO despise it being used to further political, anti-feminist (and in some cases, anti-women) points of view.
The previous kids are dead. Why must their dead bodies be used to further tropes or agendas on either side?!? How cheap.
"Precious," not "previous." Although they are obviously are "previous" as well, which is an abomination.

It’s merely a consequence of our language having lost its subjunctive mood. Would you rather the reporter used the indicative mood like it was factual? Reporters in other languages (e.g., German) switch to the subjunctive mood when reporting such events.
Returns wave to readeriam.
We should do everything we can to prevent filicide. Those who commit filicide should never, ever be in the position to commit it again. I feel this way even in the case of mental illness. And regardless of whether it's the mother or the father. I think we should focus on that, as a society.
all she needs to do is claim herself insane. and just like that.
- free murder to all while leftists in Soviet 'merica.
Free Crime in Democratic Soviet 'Merica - just claim you cannot stand trial or say you are insane.
Yes, this is MeToo, only worse. It's feminism gone amok. Who knows what the worn out feminists will spring on society next.
After Columbine, we saw a burst of juvenile violence. The Zodiac killer inspired dozens of copycat killers. The "copycat effect" is very real and much more influential to killers than we realize. I think we are going to experience a similar phenomenon with women killing their children. Even more so since motherhood seems to distort many women's sense of identity, so much so that these young women are forced to mimic other people. Usually it's just mommie influencers and keeping up with the Jones but for some it's going to be Lyndsay Clancy.
I also think this case is going to bring heightened scrutiny to thousands of missing children cases. I don't think it's going to be routine to just say "'she's a good mom' and the local pedo snatched up her kid.'" Also tons of SID cases probably are going to get more attention as well.
I remember a discussion of this topic in a psych rotation back in med school. Circa 1980. The psychiatrist said that there had never been a conviction of a mother for killing her child in our state. Insanity was presumed. Times have changed.
Regards the "who do you save" question, its the kids. Or grandkids if applicable. I'm expendable. Wife likewise though I would not mention that, its assumed.
Something is seriously wrong in MA. 1. Abortion legal up to the point of birth. 2. Eleven on that jury would not convict Clancy of her crime. 3. Women demonstrating in favor of Clancy.
Maybe a universally respected person in MA could speak out on this. How about the President of Harvard? Boston College?
Found in a bathtub filled with bloody water.
Whose blood??
Can't wait to see the very first Tik Tok video to really capture this special moment.
We've done more than our share of woman bashing in here and being called out on it, but come on, ladies, WTF? It's an epidemic of complete moral, and logical break down out there. No accountability, no logic, no reason, no facts, just emotional outrage for no good reason.
I'd say the same about men if it was happening. Can you even imagine a bunch of men supporting Jeffery Dahmer and saying he's innocent because he was crazy from a hunger for meat and sex that women just can't understand?
Of course it doesn't mean all women are nuts, just like all blacks are not criminals, but as with all identity groups, it's good people in those groups who need to speak up about the bad apples if any change is to come. This is a crisis, because it's big numbers and totally irrational. It's taking things including politics into dangerous places, and a lot of damage is coming. We are entering end-stage leftism, led by women, as Orwell predicted.
End social media culture and the fangirls of all of this depravity have to live in reality. Right now it’s all fantasy by the most privileged people in the world — affluent white women.
Too harsh? See any minorities in the courthouse crowded or making tic toc videos? Or in the news killing their children?
Right now, there are probably tens of thousands of young mothers becoming convinced that they're hearing voices telling them to do horrible things, just as so many girls have become convinced that they're really boys. Women today are incredibly susceptible to the power of suggestion and herd mentality.
Leftist lunatic women have to have their red badge of courage. First it was bragging about their abortions. Then it was chopping of the genitals and breasts of their children. Now it seems to have progressed to killing their children that made it passed the abortion phase.
What is this, the End Times?! (Without reading other comments)
Folks you all have AI. Instead of being emotional buffoons, ask for the statistics on filicide. The numbers are going down not up. Ask for the gender breakdown, the age of child breakdown.
Using this case as some jumping off point to build some kind of cataclysmic theory about culture when you all have AI to figure out how much your theories are based in fantasy - sobering, but less fun.
Eva,
Normally I would agree with your statement because I do take the time to dig into things rationally; however cultural evolution is often divorced from factual information. Culture is also full of messy human interaction and the conflict of emotional ideas free from sober analysis.
Saying “research the facts” is like throwing sand in the ocean.

Why Women Vote For Their Own Demise
Me Too, rcommal @7:43 and 8:07!
(7:43 was "I would demand that my husband save our child or children and let me burn." Even though our kids are grown, but ESPECIALLY when they were little.
8:07 was "Filicides need to be kept in a position of never having the opportunity to kill again, mental illness or not.")
That very same AI is amplifying social misfits making videos in their car of how everything sucks.
Y’all are reading way too much into this Clancy tragedy. The media and influencers have done a number on you.The Clancy case is an isolated, very uncommon occurrence. The women “supporting” Clancy are not celebrating her killing her children.
lolol. Men saying we don’t need no stinking facts.
William 50
"Leftist lunatic women"
Indeed. Normal non-leftists would never do this.
In honor of Gloria Steinem!
PS Massachusetts is a shit-hole state.
Fact: a woman killed her children.
Fact: a whole bunch of women think that is okay.
Fact: this case illustrates an existing cultural fissure in this country.
The ***number*** of filicides has remained stable over the last 40 or so years, about 450 to 500 years. But due to the vast increase in the U.S. population over that time period, the ***rate*** per capital has ***decreased***.
So we have made some progress. (And there is no sudden uptick of cases in this century, as seems to be implied by some here.) Of course, it's not enough. Even one case is too much. But let's be clear here.
"per year," not "years"
If Lindsay Clancy had been the father of the three children and all the evidence otherwise the same, the exact same jury that came within a single juror of acquitting her of murder would have convicted a male Lindsay in less than 20 minutes.
Going forward, it is very unlikely Clancy is ever convicted of these murders. I quess my only real interest is how quickly she gets released from the hospital after being determined to be sane. My prediction is that it happens in less than 5 years. If the state must prove beyond a reasonable doubt she is sane in order to convict her of a crime, what is the standard in Masssachusetts to keep a person in a psychiatric hospital involuntarily?
I thought most commenters here were male. And I thought that men were supposed to be more coolly analytical and technical. I'm not seeing much evidence of this here, to be frank. It seems more emotional and axe-grinding.
“ The women “supporting” Clancy are not celebrating her killing her children.”
You are correct that do not support such a thing.
What they support is that Clancy should not be held accountable for her actions. From a society point of view, that is truly corrosive.
**It’s not the numbers, it’s the cheering on of the lady who murdered her own three children. I can’t recall ever witnessing that before. On national television everyday, all day. Buffoons is not inappropriate.**
Yes. The issue isn't the rate of filicide, the issue is the acceptance and even encouragement of filicide. Tragedy vs. statistics is the Stalin game.
The dead kids just seem to be used as vehicles for emotion and political points-making. I find this reprehensible no matter who's doing or why.
I know a far left couple (husband and wife) who not only worship at the altar of abortion - they think it should be legal to kill your own young children. This is something HE said very clearly, years ago.
In short, this is NOT the new "me-too movement." That's nonsense, not for the overwhelming majority of women in the U.S., not even the progressive ones.
You hear that, dead kids, “we’ve made some progress”…
Oh, please, Iman. Go ahead and deliberately twist what I thoughtfully wrote. It just makes you look like an ass, which you generally aren't, from what I've read in your comments.
But go ahead, if you like.
Had a few more thoughts. I would not have liked to be on that jury. Of course the odds of that are almost non existent. I'm a guy. And a father of three. And not afraid to speak my mind. But hypothetically...
The issue is whether she was innocent by reason of insanity. That's a tough call. The subtext is that she for sure would have been fine if the medical system had not failed her. As a retired MD I can say...let's take a close look at that.
There are individual bad practitioners. And even some bad medical systems. They screw up. Did they? There are also bad patients. They doctor shop, they don't level with their providers, they don't comply with treatment. What mix of these factors was in play? The multiple psych meds prescribed by multiple people looks bad, but was it?
I think we are heading for a demand for equality of outcome in care. This started out with a close scrutiny of pregnancy outcomes. It shifted to other things like cardiac care. And now are we at the point of demanding equally great outcomes in that most nebulous and difficult aspect of medicine...psychiatry. Impossible.
“ That's nonsense, not for the overwhelming majority of women in the U.S., not even the progressive ones.”
This is indeed a silent majority issue of near universal agreement.
The issue is the loud minority who either support it or want to eliminate accountability. Such people are fair game but many in the silent minority are uncomfortable with criticism of them.
It’s similar to most Democrats are not socialists, but we really don’t hear these Democrats criticize the socialists to the point of wondering if they secretly agree with them.
It's not really about this case, which is unusual. It's about a cultural phenomenon across all kinds of issues. Women supporting or refusing to resist men in women's spaces, ruing and stealing their sports from them. Ridiculous movements like Gays for Palestine. Voting for people who can't walk or talk. Voting for people who believe women's their oppression is demanded by their religion. Supporting men they know abuse women. You see them in the streets chanting nonsense and singing and dancing like that's effective. They wear pussy hats like clowns you can't take serious. The sane people in our society just see them as crazy people out loose. Even in this case, every single female juror was willing to let this heinous crime go unpunished. I can imagine what the children of these women must think about their Moms supporting a triple child killer.
Sorry, rcommal, this entire episode has been sickening. What Clancy did is horrible and the supportive cheering section suggests that when it comes to being entrusted with peoples’ lives, women may not be the best choice.
Was the jury a complete outlier population or typical? If an outlier, how did that happen?
The U.S. population has increased by about 100 million since 1980. That makes the reduction in rate important and something to be glad about! Imagine if the numbers had increased in line with population growth! That's a lot fewer killings of kids by their parents, and not something just to be fluffed off as not important or used to dismiss a commenter with whom you don't agree.
C'mon, now.
" I thought that men were supposed to be more coolly analytical and technical. I'm not seeing much evidence of this here, to be frank. It seems more emotional and axe-grinding."
Are you saying it IS that, or it FEELS like that. If it is that, what are some examples?
FYI, you can be analytical and logical and also passionate about it, and should be when it 's about something this serous.
Sadly, even with the most likely outcome, a plea deal to an insanity outcome, this ends badly for the poor woman. Someone who tried to commit suicide after a heinous act and then down the road a few years is turned loose to face her guilt from a wheel chair and without those legions of fan girls....I don't see how a (presumably by then) sane person could live with that.
Gays for Hamas.
Hamas would throw them all off tall buildings - and yet - "gays for Hamas". The left in a nutshell.
Speaking of Hamas. Hamas tortures and kills their own.Including young children.
“ The dead kids just seem to be used as vehicles for emotion and political points-making. I find this reprehensible no matter who's doing or why.”
Not me. MA Governor Healey signing the 9 months gestation bill permitting infanticide up to that point …… to the cheering throngs. That was reprehensible to me. The cheering throngs moved on to the Clancy case. They cheered her defense attorney and heckled the DA who spoke of the children.
Who speaks for the children?
This support for murder would not happen if the perpetrator was any man or animal. Instant, unanimous and unrelenting calls for severe punishment. If that is completely abandoned just because it's a woman, is that right? Some of us see all murderers as deserving punishment based on the crime - not their sex.
hymen and the 3rd grade rhythms, an insignificant individual trying to be noticed. Pray for him, father they know not what they do.. trumpeters hanging on by a thread...
The number of killings is not the issue, and it's not the argument being made. It's the loss of reason and accountability and a willingness to accept and live with evil based on identity. That's what affects us all - not the extremely rare woman who does something like this, but the millions who think it's OK and then go vote.

The internet and social media are a petri dish for growing social pathologies. Ideology does play a role as well. Once people could condemn crime and feel some sympathy for the wrongdoers -- outweighed of course by sympathy for their victims. Now sympathy becomes a feeling that the wrongdoers are justified and just. Apparently, you can't have mixed or ambivalent feelings anymore.
Notice the similarity between Clancy and Mangione fandom. A few people who identify too closely with Lindsay or are too infatuated with Luigi may take the next step into imitative action.
"“ The dead kids just seem to be used as vehicles for emotion and political points-making. I find this reprehensible no matter who's doing or why.”
How does anyone express the seriousness (which is the whole point) without including that? She wasn't on trial for stealing a bagel. Imagine trying to tell someone the story without mentioning the crime and who suffered from it.
I would like to point out authorities have not denied allegations they found evidence Walsh was framed by a time traveler who may have had the technical ability to implant artificial memories.

There are ~200 hundredish filicides every year. That isn't a big deal. Totally in outlier space. People who get wee weed up about that are silly.
The problem is the thousands of women on social media claiming the husband did it, that Clancey shouldn't be punished for strangling her children, and the million dollars they raised to "support" the killer.
They are going after the only sane person, a man, on that jury who held out for conviction.
If there was a national referendum on this case, I think she would be acquitted by women and convicted by men, and we all know she did it, and it was premeditated. I hope I would be wrong, but I think that overall, enough men would also acquit to leave her unaccountable for three kids she killed with her own hands, one at at time.

What I want to know is why this story is the one that went viral.
Was it Clancey's suicide attempt?
Was it the SSRI abuse?
Someone decided that this story would get women on Tik Tok to do more swiping. Was it the company that owns Tik Tok?
Was highlighting that there are millions of women supporting Clancey after pushing these videos in front of women just a rage bait on the country?
"The U.S. population has increased by about 100 million since 1980. That makes the reduction in rate important and something to be glad about! Imagine if the numbers had increased in line with population growth!"
There is another statistic that you are ignoring here in the changing demographics- the total number of children in 1980 vs today.
The demonstrated proficiency of these two women at killing one or more of their kids but not at killing themselves makes me suspicious of the sincerity of their claims.
People need to understand the absolutely personal and committed nature of strangulation.
She had to look into each kid's eyes for several minutes while they couldn't breath and were struggling against her.
Several minutes each.
We are not a serious country until this woman is publicly executed in the same way.
Achilles said: “They are going after the only sane person, a man, on that jury who held out for conviction.”
That poor schlub is toast. Her defense attorney should be censored for his post mistrial comments regarding the lone holdout. But he won’t. This is Massachusetts.
As to insanity defense, was Jeffrey Dahmer insane? Charley Manson? Hitler? She knew what she was doing, and knew it was wrong, maybe even more so than those examples, but we slip into our sexism to say it's different when it's a woman. She can't help herself.
“Someone who tried to commit suicide after a heinous act”
That’s debatable. The defense says she jumped out of the window head first, therefore an obvious suicide attempt. That’s disputed. Had she wanted to kill herself, she could have. The jump out of the window was survivable. She just wasn’t counting on becoming a paraplegic. And of course we don’t have any information on remaining sensation, etc. I personally don’t trust anything she or her defense team says.
Is she really a "paraplegic" ??
Why do I doubt this. ?
Remember the one where the jury acquitted the guy who murdered his parents because the defense lawyer argued they should be merciful because he was an orphan? Was that Massachusetts or New York?
The most egregious thing about this case is the Defense Attorney trying singling out a juror and trying to get the judge to sanction that juror.
The defense attorney in this case is doing irreparable harm to our jury trial system.
The defense attorney belongs in jail for attacking the juror and the judge needs to be disbarred for allowing that to happen.

A caller to the Howie Carr radio show yesterday claimed the state of Massachusetts has the highest ranked medical care in the country. Quite an endorsement here.
Now you know why. Nobody is allowed to live long enough to get sick.

Certainly explains Howard's views. Or maybe it the states close proximity to Vermont. They're all bug nuts haters up there.
I dont believe the stats. I believe women commit the vast majority of children murders.
About 400,000 children are reported missing every year. The overwhelming majority involve family disputes, custody misunderstanding and runaway teens. 4,000 of these cases are supposedly stranger abductions. Many, many of these children are murdered. So, I wonder, just how many of these cases are actually maternal filicides? And many, many criminologists believe that at least 10% of SIDS cases are murders from inflicted smothering. Again, obviously, it's the women.
rcommal (9:04): “The dead kids just seem to be used as vehicles for emotion and political points-making. I find this reprehensible no matter who's doing or why.” You can’t be serious! She was on trial for the cold-blooded strangling of “the dead kids.” Women all over the country were falsely accusing her husband and/or demonstrating for the jury to ignore “the dead kids” and acquit her. Expressing horror at their behavior and the jury’s complicity isn’t just about emotions or politics. It’s about concern for the souls of the women of this nation.
Someone in the Fifth Column needs to ask AOC and VP Harris where they stand on the Lindsay Clancy case. Follow up is how can the American people trust you not to go nuts in a time of national crisis like when China is threatening to nuke Guam.
Bagoh2o
You left out CAGW.
There is no getting around the fact that a woman who murdered her own children had vocal "supporters". This cries out for an explanation.
Eve and the snake are back!
“The U.S. population has increased by about 100 million since 1980. That makes the reduction in rate important and something to be glad about! Imagine if the numbers had increased in line with population growth! That's a lot fewer killings of kids by their parents, and not something just to be fluffed off as not important or used to dismiss a commenter with whom you don't agree.”
Or it means that Third-World immigrants value their children more than batshit Progs. It’s disingenuous to argue that there hasn’t been a massive uptick in mental health issues among White middle-class women. It’s on display everywhere.
Maybe their remains can be frozen until their fetuses can evolve in a more socially convenient era. Meanwhile, send her to Planned Parenthood umbrella corporation where she can be judged by a jury of empathetic peers.
Why did the Clancy trial go viral? The case was around and talked about locally for some time. It was picked up nationally now, perhaps because of the no-news doldrums of late summer.
Did it have something other cases didn't have? There were all of the doctors and prescriptions involved. Most infanticides don't have all that. There's less room to put the blame elsewhere. That accounts for the pro-Lindsay response, and perhaps -- understanding that this case would rouse more controversy than others -- for the major media's picking up the story.
"The most egregious thing about this case is the Defense Attorney trying singling out a juror and trying to get the judge to sanction that juror."
That juror should fear his life. The Defense attorney painted a huge bulls-eye on him. And you can be sure the juror WILL be doxed.
Will the defense attorney be held accountable for violence against the jury member? Feh. Perhaps an editorial or two, quickly fading.
“The U.S. population has increased by about 100 million since 1980. That makes the reduction in rate important and something to be glad about!"
That's not the issue. The issue is her "supporters". What the hell is that about?
“Will the defense attorney be held accountable for violence against the jury member?”
As I understand it, he’s allowed to say those things in court, but not outside. The old prick kept running his mouth in front of the mics outside the courtroom, and I dearly hope he’s held accountable for putting a target on the back and ruining the life of the lone juror.
That defense lawyer stating that the prosecutor “ripped the soul out” of Clancy, c’mon…
What a MASS*HOLE!!!
