Three statewide wins are an electoral record, not a character reference. Paxton’s actual record includes impeachment by the Texas House, a securities-fraud case resolved through restitution and ethics training, and most recently—the extraordinary child-sex-abuse plea deal his office offered to Adam Hoffman: reduce felony charges to misdemeanors, no sex-offender registration, and essentially one day in jail. A judge rejected that outcome and imposed 60 days.
And the drag-performer nonsense? Having a favorite performer isn’t evidence of anything. If Paxton’s record is so strong, defend it on the facts not by inventing “terminal weirdness” out of someone’s entertainment preferences.

I've lived in Texas off and on for almost 30 years. I've seen no statewide office go to a Democrat since I got here. I lived through the Beto O'Rourke years. To me, it's wild that an oddball like Talerico, a very left of center candidate with a lot of non-mainstream views, is running at least neck and neck with a sitting state AG endorsed by the governor and the president. There must be people out there like me that think it's worth having a divided government if it means seeing the last of these scumbags.

As attorney general Paxton is in a great position to steal Texas tax dollars, and no doubt he does.
As a US Senator he can only steal US tax dollars, and not very directly. Nevertheless, he will be in a fine position to help his many friends (Texans!) steal US tax dollars, and that's good for Texas.

I am a Texan and look forward to voting for Ken Paxton with great joy. The fact that the schmuck on the other side, Talarico, is in (at least political) bed with drag queens doesn’t really affect my vote. Talarico’s sorry nature on everything else already guided me to deciding to eagerly vote for Paxton on Election Day. This drag queen thing is really just icing on an otherwise baked cake.
Perhaps trivia but: In 1948 there was a hotly contested election between LBJ and popular former gov Coke Stevenson. LBJ squeaked through due to famous antics with Ballot Box 13.

It's not so much that Abdul Whatsisname "has the support of Hassan Piker", it's that he welcomes his support, and gladly appears with him. David Duke has embarrassed at least one Republican candidate - I forget which one - by publicly supporting him, but the candidate did not welcome his support, in fact told him (more politely) to stick his support up his ass. Abdul hasn't done that with Piker, because he agrees with Piker, which makes him a contemptible swine.
If the people of Texas elect Talarico, the business refugees from CA might want to keep moving.
