"The most gratifying loss last night was that of a real treasonous creep, Alexander Vindman, to a Radical Left Lunatic, who can’t speak or think properly..."

"... and who will go down to certain defeat at the hands of Ashley Moody, a truly Fantastic Senator, from the Great State Florida. Vindman, if you remember, was the one who lied about my 'Perfect Call' with President Zelenskyy of Ukraine, only to find out that the conversation was routinely recorded and proved that I was 100% in the right (Completely Innocent!). It was, indeed, a Perfect Call, and the Dumocrats Fake Impeachment effort massively failed. Vindman should be prosecuted for what he did! President Donald J. TRUMP."

That's Trump, obviously, at Truth Social just now.

Here's the NYT article about Vindman's defeat: "The Left Notches Another Win With This Secret Weapon: Old-Fashioned Organizing/State Representative Angie Nixon scored a stunning upset on Tuesday in Florida’s Democratic Senate primary. Her victory will test the strength of a democratic socialist in a red state" (gift link)("The flip side to Ms. Nixon’s victory is that it may turn what was widely seen as a long-shot goal for Democrats — defeating a sitting Republican senator in comfortably red Florida — into an even longer shot. The Cook Political Report has consistently rated the race this year as 'solid R'").

Vindman lost and he should be prosecuted.
Protecting the Crook Biden family grift machine - protects all democrats and their grift machine.
That's why Nancy Pelosi was so desperate to Impeach Trump.

Odd (not really) that the NYT headline isn't about Vindman. Do they want us to forget about Vindman? Isn't Vindman the most newsworthy aspect of this primary upset? Trump gets right to the heart of it.

Vindman's TV ads were pretty funny, but just like all of the Dems in Florida. Big talk about how they "stood up to Trump" and other nonsense.
Trump gave a pretty accurate description of him.

Now he'll never level up to his brother, Eugene. There's one in every family, and for the Vindman's it's Alex.

There were a lot of very despicable people doing despicable things back in that impeachment circus. This jerk is one of them, and none have faced any consequences for it except Liz Cheney, and that's only because she was supposedly a Republican, and the price was only political. Vindman's loss had nothing to do with his treason. He was just old news, and the Dems want fresh, new traitors.

RideSpaceMountain said...

What he did absolutely should have resulted in an Article 32 hearing, and that hearing should've resulted in a court martial.

A great win for democracy with a small "D". Vindman, the man with 3 passports was supported by AIPAC and a lot of big donor money. He had no roots in Florida, and had been offered the Ukrainian DOD job by Zelensky.

He outspent nixon $16 million to $1 million. The real question is why did this clown get the backing of the establishment had get $16 million. He looks goofy, he's never run for office before, and there's nothing particularly special about him. Yes, I know he hated Trump and tried to destroy him, but otherwise? He was a nothing burger.

RCOCEAN II said...

What's ironic is Vindman is the kind of hyper-zionist that Trump usually supports. With Trump its all personal. Salazaar supports Amnesty but gets the Trump seal of approval. Vindman betrays Trump and Trump gloats over his loss.

It also brings back how stupid Trump was in his first term. He literally surrounded himself with "Quality people" who all happened to hate his guts and were looking for a chance to stab him in the back.

RCOCEAN II said...

Literally, everyone on the "perfect Ukraine call" from John Bolten on down, hated Trump's guts. Trump didn't care. At that time, he still thought the POTUS was like a Corporate CEO. And he found out that loyalty means more than degrees or being "super smart".

At least the 2 impeachments of Trump have stopped every body (except gullible rubes) from thinking they are nothing more than exercises in partisanship. Voting to impeach or convict just means "I don't like you". And Frauds like Mittens, with his hilariously fake "I talked to God, and he told me to convict Trump" will never appear again.

> He had no roots in Florida

This is a yuuuge issue. Y'all have seen my profoundly immodest proposal for serious residency requirements? This would have to be a constitutional amendment, of course, so the chance of it passing is indistinguishable from zero. But it might do some good, and absolutely would prevent this kind of parachuting in a candidate.

Kirk Parker said...

The proposal first defines Full Time Resident as someone who has spent a majority of contiguous 24-hour spans within the state or district the office represents; it then requires a candidate to have been a full-time resident of the state or district for two full terms of office before they can be elected to that office; and then they must retain full-time residency during their entire term of office.

The whole point of this is to have at least some enforcement of N N Taleb's wonderful concept "skin in the game", and further for those purporting to represent a district or state, have that skin at least somewhat tied to that region.

A secondary beneficial effect is that would make it somewhat harder for a candidate to move themselves and their family to DC and thus become residents there.

The Democrat party base loves them some DSAs in their primaries, but unfortunately for them, that kind of crazy only sells in the most indigo of districts, and not on a statewide basis outside of California, New York and Illinois.

In the case of California and New York (Illinois, too, I would bet, but I don't have family there so I don't know for sure), that kind of crazy doesn't even sell statewide- it's mostly found in big city Democrat shitholes.

Because Vindman is part of the Maidan faction associated with the national corp and Azov.

I really disliked how Vindman turned up in the impeachment trial in full dress uniform with a chest full of metals. And stood silently by while he was described as a "Ranger" who had "been wounded in Combat in Iraq" and "recieved medals for bravery".

Which brings up images of tough Company Commander leading his troops in battle.

But what was the truth? Well Vindman graduated ROTC in 1999, and did pass Army Ranger school.

And he was in Iraq for 1 year. But he was a Battalion operations officer. IOW he was at battalion HQ.
And he wasn't wounded seriously. He was riding with the battalion commander when the vehicle struck an IED. He got patched up as was back at work in a few hours.

Later in 2008, because he was fluent in Russian, he became a Foreign liason area officer, went to Europe, and later posted back to the Pentagon. And then to the NSC.

No doubt a brave soldier. But no more than anyone else in Iraq.

In case you've forgotten what absolute clowns DC pols are, here is Congressmen's Boyle's resolution to give Vindman the Congressional medal of honor (July 2020) -

""Despite threats to his family and career, Lt. Col. Vindman testified truthfully against President Trump on his ‘improper' and ‘unusual' phone call with the President of Ukraine," said Congressman Boyle.

"Lt. Col Vindman fulfilled not only his constitutional duty, but exhibited exemplary courage and bravery in bringing to light illegal and unconstitutional acts by the President. The nation owes this patriot recognition for his actions and willingness to stand up for our country when few others summoned the courage to do so."

Ocean, there are lots of reasons to tear down Vindman. We don't have to denigrate his combat service. You may think his Purple Heart is cheap because he had only superficial wounds. We still don't really know what happens inside the brains of people who survive explosions. That blunt force head trauma, that can't be stopped by body armor, does a lot more to a person than the frags do. Also, just knowing that every routine battlefield-circulation trip you make with the boss could turn into a cheap PH, takes a lot out of one. Yeah, it's not the Battle of the Bulge or a year in a flooded trench shored up by your mates' corpses, but it still justifies the CIB.

None of that is an excuse for taking part in a coup. It's too bad he couldn't have just drank heavily and slapped his family around, like generations of veterans before him. CC, JSM

RCOCEAN II said...

As for Vindman's service, comments on the internet always seem to go this way:

1) Media exaggerates someone's heroism and combat experience.
2) Someone says: "These are the facts. He didn't do that much".
3) And then someone else will respond: "But he was still in combat. Lets not diss him".

Again, this happens almost everytime. McCain threads on Althouse devolved into this about 100 times.

RCOCEAN II said...

I said he was brave. And just laid out the facts.

There is some painful (for Vindman) irony in being the son of Jews who fled communism, rose through the ranks to LTC in the USA only to use your permission to undermine the CiC in a soft coup, which results in Brandon assuming the office and immediately signaling such weakness that Russia invaded LTC Bearclaw’s home country and now another commie invasion has unseated him and not any old commie but a rabidly Jew-hating one who represents the destruction of Bearclaw’s chosen party. Yep. Ironic.

Well, it turned out that the call wasn’t improper, and Vindman didn’t hear it first hand. Those who told him should have been fired and court marshaled, if military, at the time. He essentially lied before Congress for political purposes. He represented a foreign (his native) country at the time, because the call wasn’t improper, and it was with the Ukrainian leader. He just didn’t like what Trump supposedly said on the call. There is one, and only one, person who gets to determine whether a call between POTUS and a foreign leader is improper, and it clearly wasn’t some jumped up Lt Col.

And, no, he wasn’t a Ranger. He was Ranger Tabbed. Being a Ranger requires being in a Ranger unit. Ranger tabbing means that he passed Ranger School. That is something that ambitious, combat arms (esp infantry) junior officers do to get ahead. In today’s army, apparently it is hard to get command of an infantry command above a company without a Ranger tab.

Note, I am not denigrating his ambition, drive, or courage. He did serve in a combat zone (but in a less dangerous position), and honorably was wounded for it, for which he legitimately got a Purple Heart (some of John Kerry’s were questionable). Ranger School may be the physically hardest school in the Army to graduate from (why selection boards almost require it for Major and Lt Col for infantry unit commands). What I do question is his loyalty. He evidenced loyalty to his native Ukraine, and not to his Commander in Chief.

Why are we involved in that war in the first place? Yes, it has essentially bled Russia of much of its 1st line weaponry, as well as of millions of its military aged males. Which might mean that they would drop from having a 1st rate military, for the first time since WW II - except that they still have more nuclear weapons than any one else (though it’s still a question how many are operable).

My theory is that Ukraine bought Biden, and Obama really didn’t care about foreign affairs. Oh, and the Arab Spring was his Sec of State Clinton, whose top aide (paramour?) was closely tied to the Muslim Brotherhood.
