"Mr Pelosi was driving a burgundy Maserati convertible along a residential street when he collided with a black Tesla, legally parked at the side of the road..."
"... according to court documents. Police said at the time that he briefly stopped before driving on again. The suspect 'fled the scene and did not make any attempts to contact the owner of the Tesla,' a sheriff’s deputy wrote on a complaint form. His car then appears to have broken down. The deputy said she found him about half a mile away. 'He disclosed hitting a parked vehicle and intended to go back and leave his information,' she wrote. The Maserati had to be towed away, according to the complaint...."

Does it make it better or worse that he hit a Tesla.
That "I bought this before Elon went crazy" bumper sticker didn't do much good, eh?
An 86 year old should not be driving. Sight and reflexes too limited.
I’m 76. I own a 2023 full self-driving Tesla Model 3. It’s a prosthetic that allows elders to remain mobile without endangering themselves and others. It is now irresponsible for an old person to drive themselves. Robotaxis already support autonomous driving.
breath tests? field sobrity tests? or did they just recognize him?
but, to be fair; an 86 year old man, cruising the streets in his Maserati;
probably was COMPLETELY able to drive, drunk or not.
seriously? a Maserati convertible?
here is a modest proposal..
How About; if you're a 86 year old gay multimillionaire..
maybe get a chauffeur? Then you could just blow HIM
He should have lost his license years ago. This is what actual privilege looks like.
86 year old multimillionaire, cruising the streets in his Maserati convertable;
and rich folk Wonder Why regular folk have such low opinions of them
In a convertible, a Maserati, with burgundy lines matter.
The London Times...doing the reporting on Democrat criminal activity that American media just can't bring itself to do.
He’ll need to accept whatever consequences of committing a hit-and-run and leaving the scene, I should think, but regardless, it appears to me that it’s time to give up the keys. That’s never easy (went through it with both dad and father-in-law), but that time typically comes, and his history, as outlined in the article, doesn’t look good.

oh come on! it's not like he killed anyone.. this time
not that he would have faced ANY repercussions if he had..
They would have just swept it into the closet with all the others
"The 86-year-old was hit with at least eight driving violations over more than a decade-long period before the July 3 crash in Yountville, the New York Times reported. He was cited for speeding, blowing through several red lights, and even driving the wrong way down a one-way street."

Is the Maserati OK?
This pails in comparison to Nancy's stock trading. How did she do so well?
Not to mention the accident in the 50's that killed his brother.

How dare Elon Refuse to support the Corrupt democrats.
Lets fire bomb Tesla dealerships.
Just a nice reminder who the left are.
It looks like Paul crashed a one of a kind, bespoke
GranCabrio Folgore Tiganello created by Maserati to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Tignanello wine worth $350k. Bummer.
His Maserati had the sense of humor to break down at the same intersection he had previously been pulled over for driving under the influence. He won’t need a pardon though. The judge already knows to go easy on him.
He was on his way to the stock exchange - with more insider tips.
The Pelosi's(D) prove we do live in 2 Americas.
His Maserati does 185
He’s 86’d now
He should not drive
The Pelosi's seem like pretty awful people. I'm sure he hadn't been drinking. Anyway...nothing like an 86 year old bouncing his Maserati off of other people's cars. I hope I don't live to regret writing that.
T:
How do you like your Maserati?
@Temujin, a man’s gotta know his limitations.
He just recently came off a 3-year probation for his last hit & run. Well.... the last one that we know about, anyway.
It's not like he can't afford a driver, or a cab. Arrogant.
I find this guy inspiring. Didn't he just recently, very publicly, lose a hammer fight with a male prostitute? And now he's smashed up an Italian supercar in a hit and run in broad daylight? That's rock star stuff! He's 84 years old and still runnin'. Spectacular!
"His Maserati does 185..."
Yet he crashed while driving in a residential neighborhood, where the speed limit is probably something like 25, and he crashed into a *parked* car.
The disparity between what the car is designed to do and the incredibly simple driving maneuver he was attempting is mind-boggling.
Dang! Looks like my comment got censored.
"...he crashed into a *parked* car.

I hate it when those parked cars jump out in front of me.
Iman - now I have that song stuck in my head.
Here's a cleanzer:
Write me up for 125
Post my face, wanted dead or alive
Take my license, all that jive
I can't drive 55
Now we have De-fund the police - tons of crime - including road crashes and deaths - on the rise.
Thanks, Nancy.
"Dang! Looks like my comment got censored."
That got caught by the spam filter. Released. We would never censor Bob Boyd!
"His car then appears to have broken down." Of course it did. It's Italian. Beautiful cars. But garbage.
Never say never.
Post my face, wanted dead or alive
Take my license, all that jive
I can't drive, I'm 85
Bob Boyd - and we were told that Hammer guy was a MAGA MAGA MAGA January 6er! ...even tho he wasn't

as i said; "it's not like he killed anyone.. this time"
I felt a lot of compassion for my father-in-law and my dad. In my dad's case, we helped him in various ways, including getting him a golf cart to navigate his local 55+ community, and we set him up with Kroger and other delivery services. And we provided rides to medical appointments etc.
Here, I can't really muster it. He has the resources to hire a car and driver, so he won't be limited in the way that your average older person who shouldn't be driving anymore. He's not facing the logistical issues or the same issues with isolation due to transportation factors. So it really comes down to ego, selfishness and entitlement, and none of those are a good enough excuse to cough up the keys.
So no, can't muster much in the way of patience with this.
"not" cough up the keys
people people people!
we ALL Need to just calm down a little.
i mean; SURE:
Paul has an extensive history of crashing sports cars (while drunk)..
Paul has an "interesting" affection for gay prostitutes..
Paul is SUPER rich..
Paul got ALL his money without ANY effort..
BUT!!
Paul Pelosi is NOT a republican, nor does he support them.
Paul Pelosi is a DEMOCRAT ELITE,
and we a lucky they allow us to exist in THEIR world
The Democrat Elite are our Masters; OBEY Them!
"He has the resources to hire a car and driver,"
People who don't hire drivers even though they have the money don't want witnesses.

so, AT LEAST 8 moving violations in 10 years, 3 of which he was on probation (and at least a year of which his licence SHOULD have been revoked from his last DUI.
So that's 8 in 7 years?
here in Iowa (speaking from extensive personal experience),
IF you get more than 3 moving violations in 3 years. GOODBYE Licence
[that's assuming that they are minor violations..
ask me what the penalty in Iowa for 52 in a 25mph is..]
At least the Tesla owner got a good story out of it. Better than getting hit by some rando. Maybe he or she can get Pelosi to sign the dent.
He's just a kooky guy. Real kooky. A kookola.
I've never been in the news, and some people can't stay out of it.
While it was probably his age, did the police attempt to check for DUI? Tiger wants to know.
Did you see the photo of the wrecked Maserati? I'd guess he hit that Tesla doing at least 35 mph.
Black Teslas Matter!
They forgot to capitalize the “B” in Black Tesla. However, the burgundy Maserati is ok to be lowercase.
Yet again? Take his license away.
He can afford to hire a driver after all the insider trading.
Did the Tesla have the anti-Musk disclaimer on it?
That's now in the leftist charter.
Elon should offer Pelosi a Tesla with full self driving mode.
Since it's illegal for Trump to ever drive again seems very reasonable for Pelosi to do the same?
Too bad his father in law, the mob lawyer isn’t still around to fix this for him.
It’s really kind of amazing the slack the press will cut for Democrats. Nancy’s father was a mobbed up Congressman; autocomplete suggested “Republican” after “mobbed up,” BTW.
Could have been worse. Could have hit a cybertruck. Now, that would be embarassing.
“Of course it did. It's Italian. Beautiful cars. But garbage.”
Bullshit. All one must do is follow the maintenance schedule and take care of your car. It’s not a Corolla or a Kia. Treat it like the beautiful driving machine it is.
Ask me how I know.
That’s pretty sweet, Peachy @8:20AM!
He is a danger to himself and others. Take away the license.
Was he hammered?
"Did you see the photo of the wrecked Maserati? I'd guess he hit that Tesla doing at least 35 mph."
I couldn't find a photo. There are pictures of the Porsche he wrecked a few years ago.
On a related note: Here's the thing about drinking and driving. You need to throw the book at someone really hard for drinking and driving. This crime is related to addiction and the addiction must be seriously addressed or else the crime will be repeated. (Which puts the public at risk.) The sentence that Mr. Pelosi got for his first DUI is not sufficient.
"Paul Pelosi, pleaded guilty to one misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence (DUI) causing injury in August 2022, stemming from a May 2022 car crash in Napa County. He was sentenced to five days in jail, three years of probation, and ordered to pay $6,800 in fines and restitution."
One would think killing your brother in a car accident would have a different type of lifelong impact. He must be an illegal, because any California citizen with a record like this would have lost his license long ago.
From Google:
“A spokesperson for the Pelosi family confirmed that Paul Pelosi personally apologized to the owner of the damaged vehicle and assured them he would cover all repairs. He is scheduled for an arraignment at the Napa County Superior Court on August 14, 2026.”
Note to the Tesla owner: don’t believe it until you’re holding the check. And still don’t believe it until it’s been deposited and doesn’t bounce.
Keith Richards has aged with more grace and dignity than Paul Pelosi. If you had made that bet twenty years ago, you could have made millions.....I wonder if this accident increases the resale value of the car. It probably looks more like a messaloti than a Maserati, but now it's a Maserati with a fabled history.
I presume this incident has been added to the "Right-wing political violence" stats?
"This pails[sic] in comparison to Nancy's stock trading."
Trump Media pitched $100,000 monthly fee for fast feed of president’s posts ~ CNBC
What do you call it when you trade on material information that is not publicly available? And here I was thinking the Trump name was a byword for integrity
Paul Pelosi fortunately injured no one when he struck a parked vehicle. At age 86, he well could be becoming demented and you have to wonder if getting struck in the head with a hammer by a right-wing home intruder in 2022 had anything to do with what coud be his present ailment.
But this makes national headlines.
Mr Nancy Pelosi thought he was in a demolition derby; how soon until Democrats blame Trump for this? Or maybe Mr Nancy was upset by the growing Gavin Newsom pay to play scandal?
The only things in Yountville are a bunch of wineries and the French Laundry. And it was far too early to be having dinner.
“At age 86, he well could be becoming demented and you have to wonder if getting struck in the head with a hammer by a right-wing home intruder in 2022”
As reported by journalist Michael Shellenberger, the intruder was not a “right-winger”. He was a whacked out leftist, per all of his neighbors.
He’ll probably plead guilty and pay the fine, as there’ll be no jail time for just property damage. But it would be a fun case to defend.
First, the question of distance. How far do you have to go to have left the scene? A half mile could still be within sight of the crash. What if your story is you were looking for a safe place to turn around and go back when your car broke down and prevented you from doing so. Then there’s the defense that your car broke down if your intent was to find a safe place to turn around and then come back.
Second, there’s the question of whether telling the police you thought you hit something when they arrive at your broke-down vehicle is a sufficient report of the accident.
