Katy Perry is wearing a dress with a bodice that completely flattens her, plus a thing on her head that's a mix of a fencing mask and a 1950s android's face. CC, JSM
Jon Batiste showed up in a down greatcoat that could probably have fit Andre Leon Talley. Looks good on him, but has to be boiling in it - it's 65 degrees outside in Manhattan, and who knows how hot it is inside the Met. CC, JSM
Heidi Klum looks like one of those seaside performers that doesn't move until you give them money. Her dress makes her look like one of those virtuosic 19th century marble statues carved to look like cloth - to include cloth over her face.
Colman Domingo is surprisingly conservative. Sort of looks like a Harlequin - a Picasso tribute? CC, JSM

If you haven't read coffeeandcovid today- do so posthaste. You'll find why it's important to follow the unwritten rules of life in FL. Like if you ask for a cup for water- fill it with WATER, not SODA! I will mention I think pulling out a gun was a little bit of overreaction.
Food, even fast food, has a thin profit margin. Soda theft could tip that franchise into unprofitability, it could close, and my man could lose his job. And the closing could start a chain reaction in that neighborhood. And even in Florida, the police probably don't show up for soda theft calls. My man is a political prisoner! CC, JSM
The Florida Taco Bell story sharing a thread with the Met Gala gave me an idea: The NRA Gala. Set a theme, and the guests show up with weapons and accessories according to that theme. So like the 'Art' theme could have people arming themselves to look like famous works. Maybe even some cubist, Constructivist, etc, custom guns. People dressed like Vauban-style star-shaped fortresses. Heidi Klum got up like a big brass and copper walking cartridge. And of course Guernica just does itself. &c. CC, JSM

Olivia Wilde has exposed bustle ribs on her butt. Interesting deconstruction, I guess. She's anorexic enough to need a bustle, anyway. CC, JSM
They are all grimacing as if they're in terrible pain. Except for Nicole Kidman, who looks awesome.
How fucked up is it to run a 1984 "down the memory hole" on Animal Farm?
"Communism has never been tried." You dishonest, lying fucks are an embarrassment to art and humanity.

"Never been tried"? Somebody misspelled "never succeeded".
Stevie Nicks is dressed like Stevie Nicks. CC, JSM
Lots of nude dresses. I guess they can say they're trying to look like classical sculptures. CC, JSM
Had they invited me, I'd show up dressed like a kouros. CC, JSM
Orwell is not supposed to be a how to manual
Since the theme is art, I'm sure someone is going to show up dressed like the Obama library. CC, JSM
They are really hanging on the hunger games
60 minutes does a slander worthy of president snow
To the relief workers
In north carolina
There is no excuse for this

Matt Van Swol:
"Out of every disgusting, dishonest piece of filth the mainstream media has produced about Hurricane Helene...
This is the worst.
60 Minutes has NEVER done a story on the families FEMA denied.
They NEVER mentioned the Amish, who are STILL in the mountains rebuilding homes 550 days later.
They NEVER mentioned Jake Jarvis, who has worked 550 days STRAIGHT FOR FREE for Hurricane Helene victims.
Instead, they dug up some fringe conspiracy angle to smear the people who actually showed up as White Nationalists.
I'm so angry."

wait a minute, my theory was that Dems were going after the male votes
"There is no excuse for this"
What else might one expect from The Left?
While this ridiculous display goes on at the Met, our President continues to his incredible leadership on the World Stage.
If bari weiss was serious she would allow this tripe
No “to”

I'd agree, but then again- one that could have been avoided.
