I've been seeing a lot of ink about Chavez lately, and how he was basically a MAGA Republican when it came to restricting illegal immigration. Inconvenient for all the forces seeking to fling our borders wide open and replace white Americans with Third World peasantry eager for socialist handouts. I would not be surprised at all if the Journolist Bat-Signal has gone out to the legacy media with orders to start smearing him and thereby discredit his opposition to the border jumpers.

Reading that letter is awful. Even without the allegations in the article, I don't know how any adult can read that letter and not worry.

If his views on illegal immigration led to the left attacking him, they got a lot living Democrats in and out of office to go after. Virtually every Democrat politician over 50 was anti-illegal immigrant before Trump agreed with them. The left have no real principles, which makes sense with progressivism.
