I was at the beach and watched a single pelican flying along a wave that was just beginning to curl. Usually you see pelicans in flights of five or six flying in formation. Anyway, this single pelican flying along the wave gets to a place where the wave breaks and does a barrel roll, OK, that was an exaggeration, but he does seem to roll over to the next curling wave and continues on his way. A regular Jonathon Livingston Pelican.

It seemed like he was exploiting some kind of effect from the curling wave, or maybe he was just after the "tubular" experience of it.

Just popped up in my notifications and I know one thing for sure my right wing friend who bet me the 6 people that did a video calling on servicemen to remain aware that they need not if fact is their duty to not obey ILLEGAL orders wont be wagering again on a so called appeal good luck with that) Trump and his vindictive self told the FOX guy to bring em to court ,shoot them have them go to prison for life and trumps other personal lawyer Jennine the juicer Pirro was told to have them indicted. Big time fail as usual (think Comey,James, Kelly etc )Right wing Judge called it HORSEFEATHERS, A federal judge on Thursday blocked the Pentagon’s efforts to censure Sen. Mark Kelly and lower his retirement rank in the wake of a video in which the Arizona senator and other Democrats called on service members to reject unlawful orders.
U.S. District Judge Richard Leon, an appointee of former President George W. Bush, noted the military principal that servicemembers enjoy weakened First Amendment protections to preserve discipline in the armed forces, but said that no court had ever extended that doctrine to retired service members.
He said he would not be the first to do so.
This Court has all it needs to conclude that Defendants have trampled on Senator Kelly’s First Amendment freedoms and threatened the constitutional liberties of millions of military retirees,” the judge wrote.
Leon quoted singer-songwriter Bob Dylan to say, “You don’t need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows.”
I thought the should have been sanctioned for BAD FAITH FILINGS especially Pirro trump cant even get an indictment kind of like his 60+ bogus cases HE LOST in 2020. They all get sucked up in the vindictive machine of the man baby in the white house. The way he is stumbling around, talking like he's on Lithium and fat ankles and caked up hands ,this fella may not make it all the way thru, I just watched LBJ on prime last night do we have a LBJ 11 coming up ,that fella seems very sickly ,senile and he is bent over more and more like a late formation of a cave , man not lookin good, he is so bent over and slumps when he sits(I remember nuns screaming stop slumping sit up!!! :) Foolish frivolous bad faith journey to punish your enemies. "Foolish frivolous bad faith journey to punish your enemies. "

Damn that's alot of projection for one sentence.

Bad faith? While you pretend they weren't insinuating that the President was about to give an order that was illegal? That they should scrutinize? Did these weasels have the integrity to name the illegality or did they just whisper vague innuendo like a bunch of women? I'm betting it wasnt illegal, just unprecedented.

As for the troops, this kind of thing never goes down like it does in the movies. As Lewis says "obviously threatening or bribing, will almost certainly not appear. Over a drink, or a cup of coffee, disguised as triviality and sandwiched between two jokes, from the lips of a man, or woman, whom you have recently been getting to know rather better and whom you hope to know better still—just at the moment when you are most anxious not to appear crude, or naïf or a prig—the hint will come"

It's never an obvious moral choice like "does anyone remember WHY we are slicing off left hands again?" No, it's going to be something that 4 laywers on CNN could go at for hours, at a time when everyone in the platoon is waiting on you because you're the only holdout. No counsel, no law books, get it wrong and your life is ruined. That's the responsibility these weasels were playing with. To protect their cut of the fraud I bet.

"to punish your enemies. "

Why are you ignoring what Obama and Biden did to Trump. Seriously, this is the worst part of your post - biggest political scandal in American history and you can't even acknowledge it. You have no shame at all?

This makes me sad. Because it means you guys cant be reasoned with.

It seemed like he was exploiting some kind of effect from the curling wave, or maybe he was just after the "tubular" experience of it."

It's called the "ground effect"; as AI puts it "Birds, particularly species like pelicans, gulls, and cormorants, use the "ground effect" to reduce drag and increase lift by flying within one wingspan of the water or ground, forming an air cushion. This energy-saving behavior allows them to glide for long distances without flapping, often used for efficient foraging or traveling over calm, open water."

I see Pelicans, gulls, and particularly gannets use it when travelling distances. They might pop up a 100 feet or so occasionally to get a better view to find food.

It works for planes too. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lun-class_ekranoplan

Reuters reports with headline:
"Exclusive: Arizona sheriff blocks FBI access to evidence in Nancy Guthrie abduction, source says"

Personally, I think the headline and story are overblown. The important nugget in the matter is here in paragraph 6:
"The Pima County sheriff has primary jurisdiction over the case, and FBI assistance must be officially requested by the county, otherwise the FBI is legally precluded from taking part in the investigation."

The entire investigation is being managed by PCSO. The information via the FBI only happens with PCSO asks for it. Attempts to blame the FBI for the failure to advance the investigation and recover the victim are based on disinformation.

ICE says federal agents appear to have lied about confrontation that led to shooting ~ Politico

This is the case in which DHS claimed that ICE officers had been attacked with a shovel and fired back in self-defense. Evidence since suggests an ICE officer fired through a closed door and struck someone on the other side.

"ICE director Todd L"YONS says the two officers involved in the Jan. 14 chase/shooting incident appear to have lied under oath and are being investigated by DOJ. This comes after DHS Secretary Kristi Noem defended them as firing in self-defense."
So that entire story, shouted from the rooftops by the Administration, was all yet another lie. To cover up incredibly dangerous and irresponsible violent conduct by the ICE guy.

It is imperative that if you want to work in the Trump Administration at any level you must be able to lie and to do so at any time. Just like Trump.

And not only did the media run with it, the DOJ took this into court. With no evidence, as easily shown by the defense lawyer. People need to have their careers ended, and face the serious legal consequences of their actions.

There's going to have to be a serious reckoning. DOJ and DHS need to be completely rebuilt, brick by brick.
