"Instead, whistleblowers who raised concerns faced retaliation. Because of Governor Walz’s negligence, criminals — including Somali terrorists — stole nearly $1 billion from the program while children suffered.”
Said House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.), quoted in "
Treasury, House panel launch probes into Tim Walz’s handling of $1B food aid fraud — and they could make criminal referrals" (NY Post).

I’ll believe there will be “criminal referrals” when I see them materialize. Comer is half a clown.
'Negligence', they say. How kind.
Governor Gavin Newsom was warned about...shoplifting...
Governor Kathy Hochul was warned about...COVID-19...
Woke = willful blindness per ideological/religous beliefs. Birds of a feather.
I don’t want referrals I want convictions. Also I want the money cut off. I will get neither…
…just let it be a lesson to you complacents- the usaid transfer scheme has infected every budget in the federal omnibus. This is only one more data point.
Over $1 billion in fraud - that puts Timmy in a rare league.
…part of the problem is both parties are expected to play ball or you’re gonna be Gaetzed…
Every welfare program in the country is going to look like this.
60-70% of all money in homeless/food programs go to people making over 100,000$ a year.
I’m dubious about the “children suffered” bit. That’s probably bullshit. We’re in the midst of a childhood obesity epidemic. The “school lunch” sacred mantra of the DNC is a money launderer’s dream. School lunches are trash, nutritional nightmares. Nobody should eat them. Training for diabetes.
Between this and the autism care scandal, how is there one penny in the Minnesota treasury that hasn't been transferred to Somalia?
Hard to believe a treasonous bastard with a history of stolen valor would be guilty of failing to act. How much did he get out of this?
Whether it's Comer's fault or not, I beginning to think a "Comer investigation" with "possible criminal referrals" is a kiss of life rather than death.
Yeah Good ol' Forgetful Tim. Got warned but, y'know put the memo at the bottom of pile, and forgot about it. Did nothing.
Yeah, right. We need to know how much of that $1 billion ended up in Democrat Pols pockets.
Obviously, if $1,000 million was stolen; thats $1 billion that didn't get to the kids. And kids were hurt.
And even if they weren't, its a good way to ensure outrage.
DC Republicans always talk a good game, and then do nothing. For example, they still haven't got Boasberg up before Congress to ask why he was signing off on spying Congressmen and Senators. Among other things.
I look in the mirror and wonder how it came to be that I no longer expect anyone except token players to pay any fines or serve any time. In an age of open lawfare, you'd think that actual crimes might be prosecuted aggressively. I really am astonished at how cynical I've become, but I guess the bigger question is why it took so long.
There was a huge number of public employees complaining, and being told to keep quiet. The fact they're not quiet any longer tells more than some realize. Those involved with trying to keep a lid on the activities will be prosecuted long before the governor, and those that tried to expose the corruption will be witnesses during the prosecution.
I wonder who in the Democrat Party elite decided to cut Walz loose. They protected him for years, and now they're broadcasting this scandal in the NYTs'. Wonder what he did. Not enough enough trips to the Wailing wall? Or just outlived his usefulness? Maybe they don't want him to run for Senate or POTUS.
Power Line blog's Scott Johnson has been writing about this for years.
Democrats are allowed to be corrupt.
Dem's cult base, do not believe it and don't care anyway.
Wasting tax payer money if just fine - to the Democratic cultists.
Progressives believe government programs don't have enough fraud, waste, and abuse to concern themselves with, as billionaires have all the wealth needed to provide everything for everyone if only they were properly taxed.
I wonder who in the Democrat Party elite decided to cut Walz loose.
He was perfectly acceptable to the moneymen during the campaign, because this massive fraud made him easy to control as long as they retained power.
Then Trump won and they couldn't have this scandal coming up during the mid-terms.
Bye, Felicia!
Further proof of Kamala's excellent judgment and decision making. She's fierce, and smart!
Democrats need to start primarying their own crap. Its not acceptable to lose taxpayer money like that.
Their party is eventually going to run into problems, as our 6% deficit means we can't accept crap programs that don't work and spend billions.
I don't think they have internalized this lesson yet.
Once they do, they will instead start "mandating" shit.
Kamala did not select Walz. the corrupt machine did.
Wakz 'n Karma-la
Interesting article at Gateway Pundit. What I find especially interesting is the comments section.
And no, I don't think that was off-topic.
Don Surber opined on the Minnesota-Somalia scandals. Good as always but he had a great line about Tim Walz being "Rip Taylor without the confetti"
Don inspired me to make this video of them side by side doing their acts.
https://youtu.be/y8SC3GFb7uI
I would add that Rip Taylor contributed to America. Walz seems more like a barnacle.
John Henry
of the BILLION DOLLARS of fraud, that they've admitted to (SO FAR),
how much of that circled back to the DFL (minnesota dem party)?
AND
how much of THAT, went DIRECTLY INTO Walz's pockets?
Millions? TENS of Millions? HUNDREDS of Millions?
@Aaron: Democrats need to start primarying their own crap.
They did criticize other Democrats before TDS set in. During the 2020 circular firing squad Democratic debate, they realized they'd lose if they followed their personal values/ideals. Tulsi destroyed Kamala. Everyone destroyed Bloomberg.
Then, the puppetmasters put up "safe" and sleepy Joe and ditzy Kamala. The puppetmasters did everything after that. It only works as long as blood enemies can play nice.
Bribes to the Democratic Party are almost certainly a line item in a fraud of this size. Check the political donations of everyone involved.
The Somalis stole a lot of money because either (a) no one was watching or (b) the watchdogs were muzzled. The latest incident involves a guy in the town of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, a small town out in the western part of the state. The guy claimed to be providing more meals each day than the total number of people who live in Pelican Rapids, but he got paid. The smart money is on (b).
During the George Floyd riots ignited in Minneapolis, the city burned, the police station burned, entire city blocks burned, people lost their properties, businesses, lives. And Tim Walz kept huddled in a closet somewhere for two days before coming out and saying/doing nothing.
I was shocked at the lack of leadership and direction, both by the Mayor of that city and by Walz, the Governor. Imagine my shock when I saw that Minnesotans reelected both Tim Walz and Jacob Frey.
Walz was who the Democrats decided was the best man- after looking at their bench around the country- to show how masculine and regular Democrats can be.
What we know for sure after time spent watching Tim Walz, and now reading these reports: We know how utterly fake and corrupt Democrats are, in every possible way.
Boy, I wish I had a governor who would pay me that much for my vote.
I wonder what the connection is to the murders of the Hortmans and the Hoffmans last June.
Seen elsewhere on the web (paraphrasing) : "The Minnesota taxpayer is the largest funding source for Al-Shabaab in Somalia."
"And Tim Walz kept huddled in a closet somewhere for two days before coming out and saying/doing nothing."
That's not true. His wife said that she kept the windows of the governor’s residence “open as long as [she] could” to smell the burning tires from the violent 2020 riots. I'll bet she sipped a little Chardonnay with that.
"...Treasury, House panel launch probes into Tim Walz’s handling of $1B food aid fraud — and they could make criminal referrals...."
Over $1 billion in outright theft and export of taxpayer cash to foreign lands, and by golly it's made those Republicans so mad, they're almost ready to say something.
My girlfriend is a Medicare fraud investigator in our state. She has made several recommendations to the organization that funds (fraudulent) providers only to be told that "they are not going to restrict access to healthcare". The agencies that allocate funds are complicit by virtue of neglect.
The Democratic left's moto:
"Let your rage fuel you"
&
"Crime? All cool with us / we are criminals too!"
Mr D @11:03
Or C. Everybody was getting paid.
With corruption this massive I usually go with C.

I have relatives that now (long story) vote straight (D) in Minnesota. I wasn't shocked at all.

Better he get taken down for corruption than him being taken down for the Touchdown Timmy stuff.

People wonder why Nick Fuentes, Tucker Carlson, and Candace Owens are the most popular thought influencers on the right and Zoran Mamdani and AOC are the most popular politicians on the left.
There are multiple generations of people under the age of 40 who have just been straight up fucked by the system currently built.
This is inevitable. You don't to agree with it to see it coming.
This tsunami of low-life immigrants from turd world countries like Somalia isn’t going to stop unless the money flowing to them and their DFL/Lutheran Social Service co-conspirators stops. The Trump DoJ needs to set up a Special Counsel in Minnesota immediately and make some examples along FA/FO lines for Walz et al. Just saying.
Achilles - you are such a led by the nose Jew hating ass-clown.
fuentes is the left's installation.
Jupiter-
anyone wearing all-clad disguise is suspect to a false flag or a fraud movement. Are regular people angry at what is going on? You bet they are. Is this how they behave? Not likely.
then again - They could be boogaloo or Groyopers! ... maybe even former CIA/FBI agents from 'merica.
Little wonder Kamala chose who might be more incompetent than her. Layers.
Or -- those three fully covered in black clad full disguise could be Fuentes, Candyass Owens (D-Jew hate/Israel is to blame for all bad things - deluxe) - and Tucker
When you come to the point where you see the Democrat Party as an organized crime ring, so many news stories like this one make a lot more sense. Why didn't Walz stop the fraud? One possibility is that he was in on it. Another is that he's so incompetent that he didn't realize what was happening despite being told. It would be interesting if many of the leading politicians and bureaucracy heads were subject to in-depth IRS audits. Who know what might be revealed.
"Achilles - you are such a led by the nose Jew hating ass-clown."
Peachy, dear, it is possible to be concerned about the disproportionate influence that partisans of Israel have on American policy, foreign and domestic, without hating all Jews. Especially since that influence seems to be obtained by a combination of economic carrots and reputation-destruction sticks. In Latin America, they speak of "plata o plumbo" -- silver or lead. The Zionists are a bit subtler here, but only a bit.
If you're interested, the lieutenant governor of Minnesota is Peggy Flanagan, who is part-Ojibwe and is already running for the US Senate next year.
“ 60-70% of all money in homeless/food programs go to people making over 100,000$ a year.”
Bet you didn’t know that those making 4X the poverty level were eligible for those Obamacare subsidies we heard so much about recently. Most of the money went to middle to upper middle class families.
Once again, utter silence from our resident leftist horde. Nary a word spoken.
My local newspaper has a story on this today. The leftists in the comment section are not even pretending to be upset by the fraud, nor the fact the fraud is taxpayer support of terrorist groups in Somalia. They only shriek "But Trump!"
I thought that smart politics would be to shriek "But Trump is bad, and look at us to see how much better we are!" But our leftists are not even pretending to be "how much better." They just openly commit crime, fraud, support evil, and scream OrangeManBad as if it somehow is justification for their own crimes, and also as if it makes people want to vote for Democrats.
Why would anyone who is convinced that OrangeManBad want to vote for Democrats who seem determined to be even worse than whatever crimes the left claims Trump is guilty of?
I recommend this as a good overview of the intersection of Somali graft and "Minnesota Nice."

I have said repeatedly I don't agree with Fuentes and that there are major problems with what he is saying.
You are such a fucking retard that you don't understand it is idiots like you that are why Fuentes is so popular now.
Not just stealing taxpayer money but stealing money allocated to help “the most needy and vulnerable” that has again been stolen by criminals and corrupt politicians (especially AG Ellison). Pretty much SOP for the broken and corrupt DNC.
"I have said repeatedly I don't agree with Fuentes and that there are major problems with what he is saying."
Fuentes is a very loose cannon, and I don't think he really even has a coherent ideology. Or rather, he may have one, but he does not confine himself to pushing an agenda. But that does not mean that everything he says is wrong. Far from it.

It doesn't matter what Peachy thinks. She is just a small subset of people who have been wrong about everything since 2012 when those idiots supported Romney.
If the Republican Party does not come out and say they are going to stop sending money to countries like Ukraine and Israel and they are instead going to use that money to help Americans who cannot afford a home instead they will lose.
This is the burning issue right now in this country and everything else is a distraction. The midterms are going to be a bloodbath if we are still sending money to Israel and homes still cost 15 years of average income.
Calling everyone that says this an anti-semite will just make it worse for Republicans.
Democrats at least give the money they are stealing to their supporters and can count on those votes.
@Jersey Fled: Bet you didn’t know that those making 4X the poverty level were eligible for those Obamacare subsidies we heard so much about recently.
That's not too shocking, as 4x the poverty level is only $62K for single person or $85K per year for a couple. The recent shutdown was an effort to subsidize healthcare ABOVE that level. Democrats were targeting well-to-do retirees under age 65 (when Social Security begins this is moot). Democrats want a wedge issue for likely older (white; Republican) voters for the next election cycle.
Backdoor universal health care. The poor get it for free. Those age 65+ get huge SS subsidies. Disabled people get it for free. Working people mostly get it from their employers. College students get it from schools.
Wealthy Early Retirees. The Last Frontier in Government Payouts.

The gulf states have supported hamas and cair as well as even al queda the current emif of abu dhabi hunted falcons with bin laden once upon a time but they hsve had s long learning curve
You think minnesota is only state supporting al queda i bet you there are many others like virginia with the new company governor who used to be? An employee of the islamic saudi academy
Achilles voted for Obama in 2012.
Got it. Makes sense.

Not a possibility. A certainty.
the "Everything is a Zionist Conspiracy" crowd = unimpressive and tired.
House panel launch probes into Tim Walz’s handling of $1B food aid fraud — and they could make criminal referrals
Yes they could, but absolutely nothing will happen and no one will be held accountable. There will be a theater production and that's it.
Is Tim Walz part of the Zionist conspiracy? What about the Somalian tax-payer rip-off/mob-racket?
Well we have to get the local us atty to indict has he been approved does he have any conflicts of interests like sievert in virginia
Emblematic of all that is venal, dirty, and stupid. How did Minnesota manage to fall so far?
Slowly, then all at once (hemingway) when dayton then waltz took charge with possum frey
2020 was the year they started the bust out , they were able to flood the zone in 2022 with phony ballots
"It doesn't matter what Peachy thinks. She is just a small subset of people who have been wrong about everything since 2012 when those idiots supported Romney."
I disagree. Peachy has been right about a great deal, for as long as she has been commenting here. She just has a blind spot on Israel. As a result of a long propaganda campaign, most Americans do, although that is starting to change.
I think shes been over the target more often then not
One wonders how involved the brotherhood is in colorado
That shooting by that syrian probably had more than a little tp it (deemed a mental illness instead of jihad)
BTW, there was never any evidence of childhood hunger in Minnesota, it was all just assumed. If the money had been spent on food instead of put into Somali pockets, it still would have been entirely wasted.
Don't overlook the housing "advice" for Somalis that was charged to Medicaid, and the autism fraud, both also in the hundreds of millions of dollars.
Same with wisconsin we just havent seen the receipts yet
You do remember Walz was Kamala's VP pick right? And Kamala and Walz lost how many millions of donations??? They had over a BILLION dollars and then spent it all and still $20 million in debt to the DNC...
And you are shocked Walz might have lost more money??? Or misplaced it??? Or whatever???
"Is Tim Walz part of the Zionist conspiracy? What about the Somalian tax-payer rip-off/mob-racket?"
Not at all. The United States is the most powerful nation on Earth, politically and economically, and is therefore the target of all manner of scams and scammers, private and public. It is ironic that we are so pitifully vulnerable to foreign and domestic manipulation, as a consequence of our peculiar history, and our bizarre method of governance.
You can make the case, that foreign governments have an obligation to their citizenry, to make the most of their interactions with the superpower, by whatever means avail. But that does not mean that we have an obligation to assist them in subverting our national interests in favor of their own.
Like richard jordan tells joss ackland 'you lost another submarine'
I have a feeling Minnesota is fubar. Perhaps we could swap it for Alberta?
Throw in a few hundred billion as well…
"I’m dubious about the “children suffered” bit. That’s probably bullshit."
How many people who would otherwise have received free food were inconvenienced by the billion dollar fraud, how seriously and in what ways?
What if that billion dollars wasn't really needed to feed people who managed to find another way to feed themselves? How many other programs are there like this, and how much money are they sucking up?
Because of the stupid lockdowns there were probably many people that suffered
Yelling at a Democrat about fraud and corruption makes about as much sense as yelling at the furniture because the upholstery is threadbare and stained.
Thats why they have to be indicted and hopefully convicted
His failure to act was itself the critical criminal act.
Arrest him. Try him. Jail him.
“ That's not too shocking, as 4x the poverty level is only $62K for single person or $85K per year for a couple.”
For a family of four it’s $128,600. That sounds like a lot of money to me. For a subsidy that was designed to be phased out because ACA cost savings would make the subsidy unnecessary.
Yet another confirmation that Walz is fundamentally a big Bozo.
With extra clown shoes
Progressive liberals are deathly afraid of offending "people of color", so passively tolerate a whole lot of bad behavior simply on basis of ethnic persuasion, regardless of personal circumstances, regardless of crimes committed, regardless of opportunistic DEI policy implementations that negatively affect those progressive liberal households. Progressive liberals consider themselves to be "smarter" than everyone else, to be so "privileged" by merit of skin color and college diploma, and feel "people of color" need every excuse and special permission towards "advancement" - leading to a whole lot of ineptitude due to prioritizing DEI "skin color" preferences over merit, competence, and ethical standards. Go visit Chicago, and see progressive liberalism writ large, as in largely banana republic, run by Chicago Public School graduates who can barely read at 6th grade level, but tick all the boxes.
And to note, Kamala certainly did chose Walz, rather than Shapiro, because she needed someone less intelligent than her, less articulate, and less "presidential", following Biden's own VP critieria. Biden needed a dumb obedient black woman; Kamala needed a dumber more subservient white guy - Walz handily fits criteria, complete with entire assembled woke family dummy-puppets ready-to-go.
Didn't fail to act. Chose not to act probably for a couple of reasons. One, because he didn't want to look racist. Two because he didn't care or maybe he was actively sympathetic to stealing from all the rich tax payers.
Scammers and criminals are Democrats most favored constituency

Cofer black rather then grenell told mitt what to say and it was generally bad
Once again, utter silence from our resident leftist horde. Nary a word spoken.
They believe there is no evidence. That's what they'll claim. Meanwhile, they'll make up stories about Trump to deflect. They still don't even want to talk about Crossfire Hurricane and Arctic Frost, and how it makes Obama and Biden far worse than Nixon. Or Biden's FEMA refusing to provide assistance to victims if they showed any signs of voting Republican, to bring this back to a discussion about aid to those in need.
"And to note, Kamala certainly did chose Walz, rather than Shapiro, because she needed someone less intelligent than her, less articulate, and less "presidential", following Biden's own VP critieria. I think this is on the nose.
I doubt she picked anything. Kamala was so hyper-scripted and hyper-controlled. I think someone else "helped" her select Walz.
Not that it matters. Shit show up and down.
Achilles - so you did vote For Obama. Again - got it.
Thank you, Jupiter. Back at you. We will need to agree to disagree when it comes to Israel.
No money was lost. It went exactly where it was expected to go. You just have to include all the players to see it clearly. Calling it theft or fraud lets too many people of the hook?
Those nosy Republicans are ruining everyone's good time.
The perfect headline we never got:
"Trump wins! Thieves hardest hit."
As Minority Leader Jeffries pointed out, James Comer is a "stone-cold liar." And his personal profitable land dealings in Tennessee, using his elected position to help himself and some friends, are suspicious at the very least.
In a six-hour interview with the New York Times, James Comer openly admitted that the Republican-led House Oversight Committee ended investigations into Trump because of politics.
New York Times: “Mr. Comer has quietly abandoned an investigation opened by the panel during the last, Democratic-led Congress, into whether Mr. Trump profited improperly from the presidency. That investigation had begun to produce evidence that foreign governments sought to influence the former president by lavishly spending at his properties. Mr. Comer also dropped a separate inquiry into the business dealings of Jared Kushner, Mr. Trump’s son-in-law, whose Affinity Partners investment firm received a $2 billion investment from the main Saudi Arabian sovereign wealth fund six months after the Trump presidency ended.”
New York Times: “Mr. Comer indicated he had no interest in the former president’s finances. … when a reporter suggested it might be politically unsustainable for him to investigate Mr. Trump’s son-in-law, he took a long pause, then replied: ‘I don’t disagree with what you said.’”
Wrong or not, there is a huge difference between people investing in the interests of politicians with their own money to build profitable business, and people stealing our hard earned money to fund terrorism, and taking it from children's programs to do it, but that's just me.
Don't overlook the housing "advice" for Somalis that was charged to Medicaid, and the autism fraud, both also in the hundreds of millions of dollars.
Or the $300 million daycare fraud that goes back to 2018, when suitcases full of cash were flying from MSP airport to Somalia.
