"You are not ready for a woman!"

Margaret Thatcher, the Iron Lady, was unavailable for comment.

What a bitter woman. Poor Barack, having to listen to her. I’ll bet he relishes his time away.

We’re ready for a woman but wisely chose to avoid bitter drunken hags

I agree. Its very sad. There's nothing the USA needs more than strong, sassy, black woman as POTUS.

Shouting Thomas said...

There it is, another woman who grew up wealthy and entitled, bitching. This woman actually also bitches constantly about how difficult and oppressive it was to live in the White House. I’m 75 and not long for this world. Hell will probably be listening some some godawful bitch like this one.

wendybar said...

She is pathetic. She never really was proud of her country. She hates it. Ungrateful fool.

RCOCEAN II said...

Even worse, America isn't ready for a bald man as POTUS. A very short man or a fatman as POTUS. Or a man with a really high voice. There's only 1 POTUS. And we cant get a new one except once every 4 years. So its very competitive and the Voters can be afford to be choosey.

Readering said...

Last I checked we have a fat, actually bald man for Potus

RCOCEAN II said...

I've always had a soft spot for Michelle. She's trying her best and her views are just standard liberal/left. Nothing to get worked up about.

In all fairness, she's been surrounded by people kissing her ass 24/7 for more than two decades.

People will be ready when the woman finally appears. Blaming people because they wont buy what you are selling is evidence that the people not buying are correct.

narciso said...

Why do we have to humor her again

Old and slow said...

I don't find her impressive. She allows white people's opinions to dictate her hairstyle. This seems weak.

Ann Althouse said...

She has another book. It's about fashion and politics, I believe.

Notice the drapery she's sitting on and how her feet seem to have been positioned as if for portraiture. It's nutty to the random onlooker, but for her intended audience, it's fabulous.

narciso said...

Shes another america hating harpy we have enough of that

Spiros Pappas said...

I think Candace owens models her look after michelle's.

chuck said...

I'd vote for Margaret Thatcher, but the left would hate her. Too competent.

Temujin said...

Show me a good woman with good ideas and I'll vote for her. Don't serve up a bottom dweller corruptocrat like Hillary, or an absolute brain-dead caricature of a human in Kamala, and demand that I vote for them. Then if I don't, accuse me of being misogynistic or racist or some sort of 'ist'.

That is so...sophomoric of her. Sophomoric and arrogant at the same time. Not a good way to go through life. But that's Michelle. And no...no one would vote for her either.

bgates said...

Michelle and her husband aren't even ready for a black woman to be governor of Virginia.

No women running big systems. Stick to neighborhoods.

Why? Women can't do perverse side effects. The Founding Fathers spotted a perverse side effect in letting women vote, a threat to stability.

Just watched with the sound off, so this is a little off-point, but who the hell stages a sit-down interview that requires the two of them to hold giant microphones in their hands like they are carrying champagne flutes or something? Get some clip-on mikes, FFS!

Notice the drapery she's sitting on

Is that a cape? They posed her to look like a costumed superhero.
Blackwoman? Is there a B on her chest?

Michelle is Exhibit A for why most women should not be allowed to vote.

Jamie said...

When everyone except the news media and Karine Jean-Pierre realized that - at the very least - there was no way Biden could run in 2024, so I'd say starting in about 2022 or so, but extending to everyone except KJP in that critical few weeks between Biden's debate appearance and Harris's coronation, Michelle Obama was the dream candidate for the Democrats. Word was that she would wipe the floor with whoever dared to run against her.

I wonder what changed...

Maybe if the Democrats (because broad Democrat support should be enough) would support a woman whose initial, if not primary, achievement was something other than convincing an ambitious man with political skills to marry her or squire her around socially, things would go better for ambitious Democrat women seeking CEO jobs (of which, as someone pointed out up-thread, there's only one per organization including countries).

But I keep returning to a coffee cup I saw not long ago that declared in bold print, "A BLACK WOMAN IS SPEAKING" - the "BLACK" isn't salient to my point but it did make me roll my eyes extra hard. When you believe that everyone in the room must defer to you because of an immutable characteristic you have, and are surprised that not everyone agrees with you, you'll lose. I hope forever.

It would definitely wake a lot of decadent, morally apathetic, coddled wankers up to have someone like her in charge for a while.

Hopefully Mamdani is enough.

My God Althouse! Two posts today to let your commentariat's misogyny freak flag fly. You must be in a masochistic mood today.

narciso said...

Naw they wont get a clue

Jake said...

She's so desperate for attention.

Mr. Majestyk said...

I really thought the Dems would slip Michelle in for Biden when he dropped out. But if that was thes pian, whoever controlled Biden's X account (he announced it on his X account, right?) wrecked that plan by endorsing Kamala, who was too stupid for a majority (just barely) of Americans. It's hard to decide who would have been a worse president, Kamala or Michelle. I'm just thankful Kamala isn't president and Michelle says she's not gonna run.

NorthOfTheOneOhOne said...

I don't understand the all the hub-bub about this. It's an age old dodge that I see people use everyday. If you can't do it, you don't understand it, or you're scared of it; look down your nose and dismiss it. This has been Michelle's stock in trade for a long time are people just wising up? Are they so desperate for approval from a "A BLACK WOMAN" that they're willing to let this grade school behavior go without recognizing it for what it is?

Meade said...

She’s not even half the woman Trump is.

Duty of Inquiry said...

The two women the democrats ran for president were completely unsuitable.

One was corrupt, obviously dishonest, and very unlikable.
The other was dimwitted, dishonest, and unlikable.

To say they lost because they were women is to say that you have no ability to see the world as it is.

Breezy said...

Michele needs to try to keep up. We are done with DEI. Bring on your best candidates that have the best ideas and the best communication skills. People will be fair.

Jamie said...

She’s not even half the woman Trump is.

Hahahahahaha, that was awesome!

On the subject of misogyny - aside from our couple of resident anti-19th men (if I recall, Gahrie of fond memory was a lukewarm adherent), I don't see any. Criticism of *A* woman even for personal (irritating) traits, is not misogyny. Criticism of a woman for seeing "sexism" (that is, that critics see womanhood as disqualifying) instead of acknowledging that being a woman is an insufficient qualification for office - also not misogyny.

mezzrow said...

That's a big mike drop, alright. What ARE you supposed to do with people who are so proud to be a disappointment?

Amirite?

n.n said...

She can't handle the truth.

Jamie said...

I'm in mixed company and can't watch the video at present - who's the "you" who is not ready for a woman?

n.n said...

A woman-woman or a man in women's clothing? Perhaps a feminine gender simulation.

One of the most fortunate humans being on earth and through no talent, effort or skill of her own, yet still the angry victim. Imagine how angry she would be if she lived the average life she has earned, i.e., if she got what she deserves.

Lazarus said...

Does it seem like the Obamas are already living separate lives? It's easier to believe that they got sick of each other than that they are a close couple and he's letting her make a fool of herself every week.

Bob Boyd said...

I think a lot of the perpetually accused misogynist sexists would have voted for Palin for President and would even have preferred her to McCain.

Lazarus said...

The "you" who ain't ready for a woman president is America. The people in the audience don't consider themselves to be that "you."

Jupiter said...

"She's trying her best and her views are just standard liberal/left."
Actually, I don't think she has ever said much about her "views", in the political sense. She clearly feels that she was born for better things than just being married to a President, but I'm guessing she is just (barely) smart enough to have realized that being the President is very hard work, and she has neither the desire nor the ability to work hard.
On the plus side, if she were the first woman to be President, she'd likely also be the last. Get that silly notion out of the way.

Jupiter said...

I think the one policy she clearly favors is getting rid of all white people. That is an increasingly popular idea, and I expect someone to run for office on it soon, but I'm not sure it's a winner quite yet.

narciso said...

Even malema found that a selective policy

Josephbleau said...

I didn’t watch the video, but if the statement was addressed to me, it is very wrong.

Breezy said...

I almost feel sorry for her. She doesn’t seem to have anything in her life that brings her true joy. If she did, she wouldn’t give this victimhood stuff a second thought.

Readering said...

Of she is saying a majority of electoral votes would not have gone to her, isn't she right? And explains how she resisted the polls and acclaim.

Tina Trent said...

Maybe she can stop whining and lecturing and serially lying and being a racist, and just go away. Also, get some people who can actually dress her. Remember the incandescent rainbow thigh-high boots and yellow curtains she wore on Oprah?
