Question 1 (to Trump): You called him a communist! Question 2 (to Mamdani): You called him a fascist!
Trump: "And I've been called much worse than a despot, so it's not — it's not that insulting."
Later, Mamdani is pressured again: "Are you affirming that you think President Trump is a fascist?" And Trump breaks in: "That's okay, you can just say it. It's easier than explaining."
Trump and Mamdani displayed their unity: They're both practical and they both want what's good for New York. The press kept confronting them with the way they've insulted each other, but neither man took the bait. They were stunningly relaxed and friendly and entirely able to slough off each other's political remarks.

Trump is going to build Mamdani up because it will force the Democrats to choose between the populists and the donors.
New York will do better under Mamdani than it has under the Democrat Oligarch pets. It wont do well, just better.
Republican voters took the party from the Oligarchs. Now Democrat voters are doing the same.
The problem is Democrat voters are kinda dumb.
Love em or hate em, I can't remember any other president being as accessible as president Trump. Something that not even a grassing bullet has chanced.
What's amazing is that Democrats will actually be surprised when Mamdani's promises turns out to be complete B.S..
It's like being surprised that the homeless guy you brought home isn't really a talented artist.
Mayor-elect’s supporters didn’t tar and feather him for one of the quickest renege on promises this century? Do they stand for anything?
…looks like he’s ready to cooperate with Trump, too. Trump!!!
"...And Trump breaks in: "That's okay, you can just say it. It's easier than explaining"... (the obvious to these morons)
Guy holds a press conference just about every day and takes on all comers, any questions. And he only dishes back what he gets. Play the fool, and you'll get treated like one. I like that. Who doesn't like that? Why?
Mamdani is an empty suit, and he's not going to be allowed to run anything except photo opportunities. The only thing he brings to the table are his high society connections.
ital's off.

I do find it really hilarious to watch Mamdani stand there looking like a page boy nodding and kissing the ring when half of Mamdani's voters danced when Kirk was killed and cursed Crooks for missing Trump.
Grok tells me it's not likely that Staten Island will secede from NYC due to lots of political hurdles. I also wondered whether Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx might try to secede.
Favorite academic Marxist praises Mamdani as the new philosophical, rhetorical and pragmatic genius on the left. Worth listening to for a while for a calm presentation of the other side.
Trump is likely to use some of it in his own way for his own policies against it. Hence what Mamdani's doing in the White House.
And Trump breaks in: "That's okay, you can just say it. It's easier than explaining."
The left is always talking about how thin-skinned Trump is. That doesn't sound like something you'd expect to hear if that was true.
Mamdani touched the topic Trump can’t resist - Real Estate.
Mamdani may have reminded Trump that the value of his commercial property portfolio depends on New York's ongoing attractiveness as a place to both live and do business.
This means that major infrastructure improvements, like better subways and finally finishing the new rail tunnel under the Hudson river, would be entirely in Trump's own best interests.
It's depressing that intelligent public policy should have to be framed this way, but greed and self-aggrandizement are Trump's primary motivations as an increasingly volatile and cranky nearly 80 year old man.
Republican campaign consultants built their entire midterm strategy around demonizing Mamdani — making him the devil incarnate and the face of the Democratic Party — and then today Trump showers him with praise in the Oval Office.
Trump knows a whole lot more about how NYC works than Mamdani ever will.
one only hopes, Gotham was returning to some degree of normaility, under Adams, but then they chose poorly, in Mamdani, and there will be 'gnashing and tears'
will the cobra be devoured by his own 'state tuned to this same bat channel' for updates,
one recalls that ray kelly, sought to work with wilhelm, but in the end, that did not pan out,
Mamdani: “My team reached out to the White House because I will work with anyone to make this city more affordable,” he said in New York. “I intend to make it clear to President Trump that I will work with him on any agenda that benefits New Yorkers. I’m not concerned about this meeting, I view this meeting as an opportunity to make my case, ~ ABC News NYC
Karoline Leavitt on Thursday said: “It speaks volumes that tomorrow we have a communist coming to the White House, because that’s who the Democrat party elected as the mayor of the largest city in the country. President Trump is willing to meet with anyone and talk to anyone and to try to do what’s right on behalf of the American people,” she said, adding that New York City was “becoming much more left than I think this president ever anticipated”. ~ ABC News NYC
Hilarious and absolutely brilliant move by Mamdani's team. When I heard about this, my first, second and third thought were "bad idea". Maybe this situation ages poorly too, and it seems like conflict is inevitable at some point. However, someday it will be interesting to hear the story behind this. Clearly part of the equation is the New York State of Mind -- brash, aggressive, and take no prisoners attitude. A trait that both Trump and Mamdani have in common.
The “press” just can’t suck enough. A goddam middle school newspaper has more competent reporters.
Kak smokes the pole…
you know right, j jonah jameson, would beat the reporter into an inch of their lives,
… allegedly.
When the commies and the fascists get together, nothing good can come of it.
The fascist embraces the communist! LOL! It can’t get any better. Trump knows his approval ratings are crashing and he needs a lifesaver. Mamdani meeting Trump…brilliant. All the Trumpers who were so sure Mamdani would be the end of New York, must now feel a bit better because Trump is on his side now.

good questions
At the Al Smith dinner, Trump told the mostly hostile crowd that when he was elected he would work with anyone and everyone to Make New York City Great Again. He sounded like he meant it. He's giving Mamdani the opportunity to not screw himself. NYC needs Trump way more than Trump needs NYC.
Mamdami and his supporters will, of course, make a collossal hash of things. And Trump will say--I did what I could.
No I don't think Mamdani wants good for new york, he made it clear, he despises the city, kind of like the nolan iteration of the joker, also liam neeson's character,
Mamdani was clear about the affordability issue, he talked about Trump supporters telling him they voted for Trump because they thought he’d help make things more affordable again. Of course, Mamdani was polite and didn’t say that those Trump supporters now feel abandoned by Trump. Gaslighting his own base about the price of groceries didn't help Trump and I suspect Trump’s advisors are saying it’s time to stop that nonsense.
I actually think Trump likes and respects the charisma and "winning" of Mamdani.
Mamdani bullied his way through a ton on money and lies about him. Both beat both political parties. We’ll see how they get along next week, but right now they saw an opportunity in being civil to each other.
"Trump told the mostly hostile crowd that when he was elected he would work with anyone and everyone to Make New York City Great Again. He sounded like he meant it."
Trump would have worked with the Democrats, too. But instead, they impeached him and then tried to kill him.
al Qaeda won 9-11. That much is clear.
mustafa setmarian, the michael Moore look alike terrorist,
had this type of operation involved in the subversion of the West, when direct action did not succeed,
