Using the subtle tool of satire to delicately puncture the pretentions of their political adversaries. A master class in comedy writing.

Fuck SNL. Trump announced a focus on making America “the best and easiest place to do business”. Scott Adams is saying that is one of the best - if not The Best - and smartest things a President has ever done.

They need to open their little minds and make use of the easy targets the Left has been for many years now. What a smart thing that would be for them to do.

Hope that makes you feel better about yourselves lefties, if only for a moment…

SNL never mocked Biden. Good Soviets!

SNL takes a shiny clever concept, then leaves it parked by the curb on Obvious Street. Too bad.

"I can see Russia from my house."
According to Brave browser's A.I.: "This phrase is famously attributed to Sarah Palin, who said it during her 2008 vice presidential campaign, referring to Alaska's proximity to Russia. It has since become a popular cultural reference, often used humorously."

A.I. is here to help, but help who to do what?

Bagoh - I recall a neighbor who insisted Sarah Palin actually said it. People who watch networks news =(SNL/Stewart/SouthPark - "newz" for leftists) are really stupid.

"network"

Snl deserves the ole yeller fate

SNL, always making the hard choices. However, i admit I laughed a few times.

I thought the Property Brothers were a married couple.

I want it to be funny, I really do...(sigh)

Naw its deader than the old mad tv series

It's a common trait of leftists to make fun of conservatives for being stupid about things they themselves have wrong. Hubris comes with the ideology mostly because of where and how they learned it.

Me too, and I think Trump is a really easy target and a great source for satire, but they just go at it in such an obvious lazy way that misses the better jokes that I assume professional comedy writers could come up with. Contrary to popular opinion much of the old SNL wasn't much better. We were just empty-headed and high.

SNL skits about Trump like this one are just another way of repeating the narrative. There's nothing original or clever or even interesting.
It's like listening to a shitty bar band play Hotel California.

What's with the nose? If it's fake, he doesn't need it. If it's real, somebody else should be doing the Trump impression.

Is it funny? Amusing, humorous, droll, yes, but not laugh out loud funny, at least for me. It fell apart at the end when they brought in the "racist" and "coup" and "secret police" motifs.

I haven't watched SNL in decades. That was actually well done, and sporadically funny.

I stopped immediately after the gay stuff they threw in. That was false. Both Property Brothers are heterosexual and DJT would never say that. DJT is the most pro gay President we have ever had. Fuck Hollywood types to Hell and back. Phil Hartman, I love you.

That was funny because it wasn’t needlessly harsh. And the guy portraying Trump had the mannerisms and delivery locked down.

Josephbleau said...

It’s made stupid by the obviousness of the scripting. The zingers have no depth it’s just bald.

Mr. Majestyk said...

There was a joke about Bill Clinton, which means they go after both sides!

Haha! I'm funnier than SNL!

pace was frenetic?

GatorNavy said...

Not too bad, the laughter seems canned, not really from that fabled studio audience. IMO, they could have used more physical humor with the throwaway terrific dancer line.

Shouting Thomas said...

By the end of this term, Trump will have won just about everybody over with sensible policy and performance. Is the video funny? Damned if I know. It didn’t do anything for me.

narciso said...

The snl crew deserve to be attacked by chuds

Wince said...

I'd give it a B, or a B+ or A- based on the SNL curve.

The satire improves when the writers acknowledge Trump's effectiveness and his own sense of humor that are the base of his popularity.

Rabel said...

That was a softer parody of Trump than what they have done before.

The media is changing. Not a lot, but some, and for the better.

rehajm said...

I don't think the portrayal of Trump is very good. There are far better impersonations from Kill Tony and assorted randos on the interwebs. Now maybe he's the best of the cast to do it, like the way Fred Armisen did the best Obama but wasn't this cast member hired/retained for his Trump impersonation? Boo...

Disparity of Cult said...

Nothing special, not as bad as Baldwin's.

victoria said...

Still laughing. To the point and searingly funny.

JIM said...

Do their core audience members even know who Trump is?

narciso said...

Proving its not funny

Rosalyn C. said...

Another boring attempt to ridicule Trump. They use the same old joke about him being grandiose. There was no wit just obvious animosity. OTOH, IMO their skit on the NYC mayoral debate was very funny: https://youtu.be/FWSM8pDKYkU?si=R2ksbHDfxDyAv0g_

Harris and Biden mocked numerous times on SNL very easy to look up and not that difficult. Misinformation is rampant
