"Overly online social media critics of Swift apparently instantaneously decided the new album is rife with racism and homophobia, as well as..."

"... secret messages of support for the patriarchy, eugenics, and Donald Trump. Forensic 'investigations' have uncovered 'dog-whistles,' but only woke detectives themselves are capable of hearing them. Either Swift is a covert alt-right influencer, or her young critics have been taught to see oppression everywhere, including where it quite clearly is not...."

I don't really care, but I still felt engaged enough to listen to one of the songs, and isn't that the point? But how dumb it is to listen to songs and occupy your mind with the question whether the artist might be right wing. I'll just say what I said back in 2005: "To be a great artist is inherently right wing."

The song I listened to from the new album was "Cancelled!," which some listeners say is MAGA propaganda. Lyrics here, at Genius. Key words: "I like my friends cancelled.... At least you know exactly who your friends are/They're the ones with matching scars." Cancelled people make better friends. That could be a right-wing or a left-wing idea... at least if you get your left-wing ideas from half a century ago.

If you endorsed Kamala Harris you are right wing.

You are going to watch the left eat itself as they lose political power. Without access to tax payer money they produce nothing themselves. They are parasites.

I seem to remember a lot of jokes in 2020 about Swift making a career writing songs about picking a guy who turned out to be a disappointment when she endorsed Joe Biden. Looks like this album is more the same.

rehajm said...

She the one what endorsed their candidate. Now they’re just lashing out and anything moving- sombreros, swift…

…by ‘everyone’ if you mean every leftie you come into contact with yes. Everyone has lost their minds…

But what about the 'art'? Cant we just ignore all the politics and enjoy the music/film/TV show/novel? Guess not. Unless the politics are leftwing.

Great artist = right wing? Do you mean: great art keeps re-discovering things in human nature that were probably "always there," so this is always contrary to utopian hopes?

Apart from her idiotic endorsement of lefties, I am a huge fan. Having worked for decades in the entertainment industry, I've seen very few talent in such masterful control of her own business(es). While she has top tier counsel and advisors, she has made remarkably complex and successful decisions. Particularly for a hot gurl.

Another fan-turned-critic pointed out, “She is free to put out a song about wanting a husband and children and a basketball hoop and a house and a cul-de-sac, [but] she has to accept the context that, if she puts that out right now, it’s going to feel like propaganda.”

The anti-husband, children, basketball hoop, house, and cul-de-sac people are not going to stand for this.

I've heard a few reviews of the new album from Swift fans. They are not loving it. That said, I think sometimes albums need a few listens to sink in.
I was so-so on the New Lord Huron album - but now I love it.

That leftists are trashing her? Yeah - it's your team, honey.

It’s right wing to want a house and family? Swift is many things, but she’s pretty middle of the road politically - generally pretty liberal on cultural issues but, like any self made person, wants to enjoy the fruits of her labor and not have large chunks of it taken by the government.

Most rap/hip hop is right wing as it celebrates the individual, freedom, and self determination.

Was she knowingly supporting a Regime that censored it's political opponents or was she stupid?

Anyone who supported Kamala Harris is not middle of the road. You knowingly supported a Regime that persecuted and spied on their political opponents and pursued an explicitly racist agenda. You also explicitly supported open borders and defunding the police.

Just being who she is makes Swift a white supremacist in some people's eyes.

The problem is the New York Post pointing out a bunch of insane leftists shrieking about phantom meanings in song lyrics.

Those far leftist wouldn't know a white supremacist if a bunch crowed up around them... for you see the far left 'thinks' they are not prejudiced themselves... and yet they are worse than any so-called 'white supremacist'.. they don't realize they are just as fascist... for there are fascist even among communist . See they want control right? Control by a small group who run everything... and that is what a fascist wants to. I.E. DICTATORSHIP... and real one...

And thinking Taylor Swift is a racist white supremacist is ridiculous... she hires lots of black backup vocalist and sings with Spanish singers... next thing you know these leftist nuts will say if you play her records backwards you will hear Satan's voice...

Once upon a time Swift tried to remain very apolitical, then she took a turn to the left and championed some of their talking points. Now they are savaging her like they do everybody. The left tries to make you think they are all for goodness until you step out of line. I wonder if Swift is going to be red pilled.

Wondering what Jim Comey thinks of the lyrics from Taylor Swift’s new song.

Also wondering if Comey will be listening to Taylor Swift when he’s in the slammer.

Finally, wondering if Taylor Swift will do like Johnny Cash and do a show in prison.
