The scandal is MUCH worse than the Biden WH not releasing the tape. The so-called “independent” Merrick Garland crooked Justice Dept was SUBPOENAED by Congress to release it, he defied that subpoena after jailing Steve Bannon for defying one, then DOJ refused to jail Garland. https://t.co/TLzzdrosZf

Ironically, some of us would have empathized with Biden if we'd been allowed to hear this at the time.
It's the coverup that really hurts.

Why is there no talk of fixing the 25th Amendment so this doesn’t happen again?
I’m for a reconciliation.
No one is above the law. Except every corrupt Democrat /corrupt D-obedient mobster.
The audio makes the lies of Tapper, Scarborough and friends even more audacious. Their complicity in the lies runs deep.
Nobody knows who was running the country for four years. Not only did it happen, but everybody knew it, covered it up, and lied about it. Know what else? Nobody will do anything about it now. Congress is pathetic.
There's clearly a coordinated, organized narrative being pushed by the Democrats through the media that Biden is responsible for Trump being re-elected because he was old, infirm and suffering from dementia and as a result made many bad decisions as President and was unable to campaign effectively.
The narrative is founded on the ridiculous idea that Biden hid the severity of his decline from everybody. How is that possible?
Everybody knew. They didn't care. They were fine with whoever was in charge.
The question they're avoiding now is, who was that? Who was running the show during Biden's term? Who was acting President?
We all knew it. I personally knew it when I saw an accidental camera shot from an awkward angle, of a Biden campaign stop in 2020, with the white circles on the floor, and the teleprompter with letters that were a foot high, in an over-simplified script. We all knew it, in real time, when Joe's exposure was being limited to a select few and his inauguration was held out of view of the press and the public.
Now, what do we do about being so appallingly defied in real time, by the people that cheated their way to an election win, and now want to gaslight us? It has to be the worst, conniving, unscrupulous, bad faith administration ever.
I don't know how Axios got the tape, but they need to get the Jan 6th tapes next. And to be clear: I don't want the pursuit of justice to rob the administration of its forward momentum and consume its energy, I just want to keep a steady torrent of exposure going, to remind all of the voters what happened and who did it, for the next 3½ years.
It was elder abuse to allow him to run again or even continue in office.
the 25th Amendment, depends on men and women of integrity,
of course Caputo, was an enabler for all of the time this was happening
Those who propped him up for their own political ambition and benefit are despicable people. Everyone involved in that administration should be held to account.
of course this fraud was necessary to raid the treasury for Clean energy, for the Ukraine grift, et al, and to remove it is like Jason removing Dragon teeth
Nobody knows who was running the country for four years. Not only did it happen, but everybody knew it, covered it up, and lied about it.
And - yesterday we had whatshername admitting on CNN that the "34 felonies" and two impeachments and, by implication, the rest of the lawfare against Trump were simply Democrat "resistance." And not long ago we got confirmation of what had been obvious since about March of 2020 - that by far the most likely explanation for the origin of COVID was the Wuhan virology lab - something that, back then, a person could be deplatformed, professionally disciplined, accused of racism for wondering about.
So, we know (as if we didn't before) that Democrats in public life think nothing of lying to achieve their political aims and that journalists are willing to squander every bit of their reputation to back up those lies. I don't understand how it's possible for our lefties to believe anything they read, see, or hear from those journalists.
This audio destroys the narrative-forming attempt to pin it all on Biden.
of course there was also the grift to UNWRA, the mouthpiece and recruiter of Brotherhood projects, to the ICC, to the IPCC
every body got their piece of the action
so the 1200 dead on October 7th, the 13 at HKIA, the hundreds of thousands that arose from the Ukraine war, all of this is the provenance of this fraud,
narciso @8:13AM… absolutamente!
I've known Caputo when he wrote for the Herald, my previous fishwrap
Is everything done by Biden now illegitimate? Every bill and executive order he signed...most of them with the Autopen?
What about everything done by officers of his administration, supposedly on Biden's orders? If those officers knew the orders were coming from somebody else, were they committing a crime to carry out those orders? Maybe they were just acting entirely at their own discretion without authorization from anyone? Is that legal? People were spending money and using resources without the legit authority to do so. Are they subject to prosecution?
This is a huge can of worms.
Some people just have not realized how treasonous this was. America was put at risk, the treasury has been and continues to be raided. What should be done about this to hold leaders of the treasonous deception accountable, which might lessen the chances of it being perpetrated again?
Criminal trials? Firing squads? Guillotines?
or pats on teh poo poo?
America was put at risk, the treasury has been and continues to be raided.
And the left-leaning (at least, the many who aren't in on it) continue to believe that Trump is the root of all evil, and that when the Maddows and Scarboroughs tell them that Trump is "defying the rule of law again," they're telling the truth.
Any decent person who listens to this snippet will understand that the President is overcome with emotion while thinking about his two sons. He clearly has an interior dialog going on while trying to answer the question.
It says more about those who don't understand what is happening here and think it is more sinister.
You may not know what it means to love your sons and daughters deeply.
That’s on you.
I strongly suspect Biden was never really in charge. I suspect he was chosen to be the Dem candidate for 2020 because he and his family were corrupt and he could be controlled and would do what he was told as President. The hand above the strings was there all along, not because Biden's dementia got worse. Biden's increasingly obvious dementia exposed the strings, but not the hand...not yet anyway.
"Nobody knows who was running the country for four years."
I know.
It's the same person who facilitated the fake election returns: Barack Obama.
They don’t want your empathy. They want other things from you.
"They ALL knew" where "They" means everyone who could do something about it or had a platform to proclaim Biden's incompetency, e.g., Cabinet members, Senators, Congressman, national broadcast networks, nationally recognized newspapers. But to acknowledge it requires you to do something about it or admit your own impotency or that of the institutions we're told we must rely on.
Of course, many of us figured out Biden's state during the 2020 campaign. I was predicting that Biden would be gone by Memorial Day 2021 because of his senility. Instead, I was surprised my cynicism wasn't nearly as deep or as strong as it needed to be.
In any event, another prominent data point that our gov't is on a downward slope, accelerating to whatever comes next. May the transition be short and as non-violent as can be.
@ Bob Boyd at 8:54
You nailed it.
Yeah, Biden's so overcome with emotion that he regularly lied about how and where his son Beau died. Or was that his 'stutter' that caused him to do that?
@ Once written
So Biden wasn't suffering from dementia? He was fine? Even though Hur reported after this interview that Biden wasn't competent enough to be prosecuted?
You're like the girl sitting on Pinocchio's face moaning, "Lie to me! Lie to me!"
I'm going to be pedantic again and note that Hur never said Biden was incompetent to stand trial. He said Biden was unlikely to be convicted because a jury seeing the man he saw in the depositions on the stand would likely empathize with him (as our hostess appears to) and would not believe he had the requisite intent to violate the law.
Sure you would have empathized with Biden based on the Hur interview but the question for the people using him like Edgar Bergen used Charlie McCarthy was "would you vote for him?" after seeing the Hur tapes. (God I hope your answer would be 'no').
And no, we don't need a stronger 25th Amendment. This situation is the classic 'political question' that can't be addressed by formulating more legalisms. The 25th Amendment is suited for the situation that was critical at the time of its adoption which was how to deal with a President who was either in a coma (or equivalent state) or presumed missing in the aftermath of a catastrophic attack on DC just at the moment occupancy of the office was critical. It is perfectly fine for dealing with that contingency which was previously unaddressed in the Constitution without becoming another tool like lawfare for the opposition to harass the Executive.
Voters will need to decide if the Democrats collectively should pay a price for this end-run around democratic accountability. If they don't, we deserve everything we're going to get by not dealing with it.
@ Christopher B
You're correct and more accurate and specific and that's important, but I'm going to be pedantic and note that I didn't say, Hur said Biden was incompetent to stand trial.
Once Written, the most obvious problem with your stunningly hilarious comment is that it isn't the only snippet- there are 6 hours of this dementia on full display that have nothing at all to do with Biden's sons.
Our system is totally broken. We only got lucky that a serious crisis did not come up while we were leaderless, although we are left a few serious problems, one which is likely to still punish us us for our failure. There are thousands of foreign nationals, many trained and infiltrated throughout the country now - planning and waiting.
The media failed, the Congress failed, law enforcement failed, the courts failed, and the even our people failed.
We only have our vote to save us, and even that failed in 2020. We have nobody to blame but ourselves.
The Biden administration was peak Swap. It reached the level of ridiculous corruption so bad that only the most feeble minds see it as normal and acceptable. (How did that return to normalcy work out?)
The hope is that we see sufficient public dismay and outrage with what happened that we change what needs changed, which is a lot. I fear that millions can hear all this and would not change their vote in 2020 if they could. The problem is with us, at least many of us stuck on stupid.
“You may not know what it means to love your sons and daughters deeply.”
Creepy, once bitten. YOU - hopefully- may not know what it means to shower with your pubescent daughters discretely.
Funny how Democrats like Hillary and Joe can get away with actual crimes while Donald gets convicted of imaginary felonies.
@Bob Boyd; @ Christopher B
The absence of a statement in Hur's report that Biden was incompetent to stand trial does NOT mean that Hur had concluded that Biden was competent. Hur's silence doesn't indicate what Hur thought about that issue or even whether he thought about it at all.
However, I firmly suspect that Hur thought long and hard about the competency issue, and would have had obvious reasons to remain silent on that issue when he could instead reach the same prosecution decision by reaching the conclusion that he did - that a conviction was very unlikely given Biden's presentation.
Christopher B. @9:24 - wasn't Hur's point not that the jury would empathize with Biden, but that they would feel sorry for an old man who seemed to have memory issues? That would be sympathy, not empathy (ahem, speaking of pedantry...), and the "memory issues" was, ISTM, the implied reason Hur thought the jury wouldn't give Biden credit for mens rea.
So, it wasn't Biden throwing gold bars from the Titanic. That seems significant.
It is not too late to jail Garland, and it probably needs to be done, pour encourage les autres.
This is a broken record. The fundamental problem is not that Biden should have stepped down sooner. It's that he should not have run for re-election. Yes, at the time of his decision, his cognitive abilities were probably decent. But his cognitive affect--his image in the minds of voters--and his communication skills were significantly diminished. And he had sold his initial campaign on the promise to be a bridge. Ignoring those facts was beyond mistaken: it was delusional.
The real tragedy is how the Democratic Party let down their constituents by allowing the progressive wing to take over their party. Maybe Biden could have benefitted in the end if his Party had supported truth instead of trying to pull the wool over the eyes of Americans. Their behavior here mimics their policies in general. Even now, they remain more focused on Trump than on their job which is to develop and offer a platform that citizens can support.
Kak says "The real tragedy is how the Democratic Party let down their constituents."
A party doesn't have "constituents" as such. In this case the party deceived their voters. Voters have alternatives and those who no longer saw an alignment between their own interests and the actions of the party exercised some alternative.
Tragedy teaches that you cannot control fate. Democracy teaches that you cannot control your voters. That is called "Comedy."
⬆️ All Democrats needed was an open convention, instead of an anointment.
"the President is overcome with emotion while thinking about his two sons"
Oh, please. Biden is asked about his reasons for keeping a memo. He says: well this was during the time when Beau was dying. However, Beau died in 2015, as is pointed out and the question is about 2017, as is also pointed out. But instead of answering a question which requires a possibly dangerous answer, Biden wraps himself in a cloud of grief. I'm sure he is sincerely overcome whenever he thinks about that terrible event in his life. And likely, when danger threatens, Biden thinks of his strong son who is gone and his grief comes on him. But this means that we can't ever ask Biden any real questions with the expectation that he will answer them. And that is exactly what Hur said of him. It's very human but it isn't Presidential.
As I said last night...
Biden had mental capacity when he stole classified info. Biden faked the extent of his memory loss during the Hur deposition, knowing Garland would suppress the recording, so Biden could still run for reelection.

Except that Biden does the same thing every time he's confronted with a difficult question: revisit his dead son's memory.
The emotion may be sincere, but its invocation is not.
In fact, it's a well known acting technique:
To effectively bring emotion to a scene, actors can utilize techniques like emotional recall, sense memory, and empathy to connect with their character and the story. These techniques help actors access authentic emotions and convey them realistically on stage or screen. Here's a more detailed look at these techniques:
Emotional Recall: This involves drawing from your own personal experiences to evoke specific emotions. Backstage suggests knowing what makes you feel certain emotions can make it easier to access those emotions when portraying a character.
Sense Memory: This technique involves engaging your senses to recreate the emotional state of your character. For example, if a scene requires sadness, you might imagine the feeling of a cold wind or the taste of a bitter drink.
Empathy: Putting yourself in your character's shoes and understanding their motivations and perspective is crucial for authentic emotional connection. The Australian Performing Arts Conservatory suggests that empathy is key to connecting with a character emotionally.
Imagination: Use your imagination to create a scenario that triggers the desired emotion. Backstage notes that imagining a specific situation can help you cry on cue.
Subtlety: Be mindful of how you use your physicality (posture, gestures, facial expressions) to convey emotion. For example, a slumped posture might indicate sadness, while expansive gestures could show confidence.
Active Verbs: Use verbs that show action and intention, making your character's emotions more visible to the audience. Backstage states that using active verbs can help actors bring their emotions to life.
Preparation: Thoroughly analyze the script, understand your character's motivations, and work with the director to fully embody your role. Quora suggests that preparation is key to bringing a character to life...
By employing these techniques, actors can effectively connect with their characters and the story, bringing a more authentic and compelling emotional presence to their performance.
This video demonstrates how to cry on cue:

Remember "Schiffty" Schiff D-Moronville, lambasting Robert Hur for his supposed political smearing of Biden? You just can't dislike slimy Schiff enough.
Leaning in to em-pathetic appeal with "benefits" and millions of "burdens" sequestered through the entertainment of abortive ideation in a kleptocratic Ka-catastrophic climate change. OK

Yes. Joe Biden was clearly not aware of anything that was being done in his name. He was not competent and he was not making the decisions.
Furthermore everyone in his cabinet and his staff knew he was incompetent and covered it up. They covered it up while they were shoveling taxpayer money to cronies.
Everyone in the Biden administration who directly worked with the figurehead they were holding up is a criminal who carried out a conspiracy to enrich themselves and their friends under the name of Joe Biden.
They all deserve to hang and the execution should be public and taught in history classes to every 6th grader for generations.
They are all guilty. Biden has been exploiting his personal tragedies for decades; remember the poster-sized picture of his dead wife hung in his office, so anyone needing to see him on a political issue had to stare at it? Sad that as he grew demented, even his grief grew incoherent. But we don't elect people because they have suffered. We do elect some people because they have learned from suffering. I submit that Biden's feelings are his business, but he also learned how to exploit them. Promise Me, Dad? Oh, please. That's grotesque, even if it doesn't diminish his private pain. It tells me that the people around him, and he, in lucid moments, were willing to exploit a terrible tragedy. The DNC knew. The White House knew. The First Lady knew. The Obamas knew. The media knew. They're morally disgusting. And we all know that, except those incapable of facing the truth. The only questions that remain are these: what now, and why now?
I would also submit that "what now" can only be answered by our do-nothing Congress, and "why now" is merely the thousandths plot to somehow twist this around Trump's neck, to lynch him with it. How that unfolds awaits.

Rich blithely pretends that there is nothing wrong with propping up a puppet figurehead and sending taxpayer dollars to crony projects run by fellow democrats.
Does this mean we will be spared the rest of the Joe and Jill anti book tour?
What we are looking at here is easily one of the top 5 scandals in the history of our country.
A fairly large group of people, at least hundreds, conspired to install a figurehead president through an obviously illegitimate election with millions of ballots that showed up days after the election. Joe Biden's 2020 ballot total is just on it's face impossible. He did not have 80 million voters. Period.
Once he was installed they also conspired to hide his mental deficiencies from the public and participated in a government and corporate sponsored censorship campaign to cover up the puppet's mental deficiency.
While they were hiding Biden's dementia from the country they sent Billions of taxpayer dollars to "infrastructure" and "green energy" programs and NGOs in Joe Biden's name.
These grifts have produced almost no infrastructure or green energy and the people who received that money are all party hacks.
There are at least 1000 people in DC that need to publicly hang and made an example of for future generations.
Excellent.
I was worried Trump was going to let this slide and make peace.
Come back to this in 2 years. This is going to be a wild ride.
The real tragedy is how the Democratic Party let down their constituents by allowing the progressive wing to take over their party. Maybe Biden could have benefitted in the end if his Party had supported truth instead of trying to pull the wool over the eyes of Americans.
Not a "tragedy" - a travesty. A scandal.
Not "let down" - deceived and coerced. And not "constituents" - voters and the American public at large.
Not "trying to pull the wool over the eyes of Americans" - created a widespread conspiracy to deceive Americans, the best kind of conspiracy, the kind where you share a common, simple, overriding goal and therefore don't need regular instructions as to your specific actions - like improvisation in acting.
But especially, not a "tragedy." Why do you still believe it is a "tragedy," Kak? Is it along the lines of, "What difference, at this point, does it make?" The side with which you are aligned got caught conspiring to delude the public, and, you know, the damage is done, so you might as well consider that damage a "tragedy," just unavoidable harm from an uncontrollable event in the past like deaths from a tornado?
“Does this mean we will be spared the rest of the Joe and Jill anti book tour?”
No. You still must have your nose rubbed in it for a decent period of time.
Miranda Devine has posted the 6 hours of testimony on X.
It's also at Zerohedge.
Biden: [whispering] Here's the thing ... [shouting] I DON'T WANT YOUR PITY!
Clearly Biden was not competent to be President. But he was also not competent to put on a credible pretense of being President. Someone had to be pulling the puppet's strings. WHO WAS RUNNING THE CON?
Sure, there were a lot of people cooperating in it, a lot of people who benefitted from it, who knew it was a con -- But SOMEONE had be in charge. Was it Mrs. Biden? Was it Hunter? They don't seem smart enough to carry it off. Was it Obama, who wanted a third term as President? Wouldn't he have decided to back Ukraine? Wouldn't he have decided to pull the plug on Afghanistan, regardless of conditions on the ground? Wouldn't he have picked the Supreme Court Justices "Biden" appointed?
I don't know, but we need to find out who that someone is, and bring him/her to justice.
SO THAT NOTHING LIKE THIS EVER HAPPENS AGAIN.
“Is everything done by Biden now illegitimate? Every bill and executive order he signed...most of them with the Autopen?”
It’s going to be interesting. I suspect that the initial issue is going to be pardons. Prosecuting Dr Fauci would be popular. I might though start with some people lower on the food chain, with less to spend on legal fees, and less ability to garner sympathy on FundMe. (Now) Sen Schifty, Cheney, and the other House J6 fraudsters would also be popular. I would leave the Biden family alone though. Pocket change.
It’s going to be interesting legally. A signature is typically prima facie evidence of acceptance/approval by the one whose signature it is. But in this case, it will be easy to prove that this wasn’t really Biden’s actual signature, but rather an Autopen facsimile of it. Just too many copies of the exact same signature (or 2 signatures, since there were 2 Autopens, but one was used most of the time). An Autopen facsimile should still be valid, if the defense can show that Biden himself approved the signatures. But I don’t think that they will be able to show it. The actual Autopen operator(s) will likely be easily determined. And maybe who gave the orders to them to sign. But that’s where it will likely, I think, break down. Somewhere up the chain, the buck will stop. And, I think, plead the 5th. Because, at some point, it will be criminal. Ordering the Autopen signatures, absent BIden’s explicit authorization is, among other things, forgery. It’s a federal felony. And arguably also Obstruction of Justice. I think that it would be great if some of the charges used against Trump, LTG Flynn, the J6 protesters, etc, an be used against the perps here. Of course, they might just have corroborating evidence. Except they won’t. They won’t have telephone calls, emails, etc from Biden. Or, if they ever did (doubtful) they likely deleted them to protect themselves. And with proof that Biden’s Autopen signatures were not his original signatures the burden will be on the defendants and the perps to prove that he had authorized them. This shouldn’t really that hard to prove by the White Collar crime prosecutors at the DOJ and FBI agents.
Then, after pardons get rejected by the courts, EOs and funding decisions are probably next. Then it gets too messy, I think, to pursue. Signing bills into law, appointment of Officers, etc - just too messy.
Just as with their actions surrounding covid, Democrats desperately want to claim "Mistakes were made", move on from Dementia Joe and get back to focusing on how to get rid of Donald Trump. You know- the fascist dictator.
The Dems desperately want to "move on". We are moving on. We all know that there is absolutely no reason why we should ever trust anything they say ever.
Journalists’ Persistent Willingness to Chase Trump’s Squirrels, Biden Recording Edition
To get a sense of how much releasing recordings of Rob Hur’s interview with Joe Biden in advance of the legal release of them was about attention management, you need look no further than the Fox News homepage (this was from shortly after midnight ET).
The humiliating defeat for Donald Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill in the House? Buried on the bottom of the front page.
The Supreme Court’s ruling protecting due process rights for those Trump tried to render to El Salvador using an Alien Enemies Act, which made it clear at least two Republican justices believe they can’t trust the Trump Administration? Second row.
Judge Paula Xinis’ rebuttal of DOJ’s claims that deporting Kilmar Abrego Garcia without a warrant, in spite of an order prohibiting it, was legal? Third row down.
A clip from the exclusive interview Bret Baier had with the President, in which Trump falsely claimed China needed to make a deal more than he did and bizarrely refused to say the work “nuclear”? Also buried there on the bottom.
For Fox News, a cherry-picked excerpt of Robert Hur’s interview of President Biden merited the entire top of the page, with six different stories based on that cherry-picked release to Marc Caputo and Alex Thompson.
The breaking news is a man in his early 80's appears a little slower to answer questions about exact dates while also getting emotional when talking about his deceased son? Aren't they also trying to sell a book?
“The breaking news is a man in his early 80's appears a little slower to answer questions about exact dates while also getting emotional when talking about his deceased son? Aren't they also trying to sell a book?”
It wasn’t quite exactly that, but rather that for the hours that he was interviewed, he was just plain senile. Really no other word for it. Except maybe some dementia. Not the level that you would see in a locked Atheimer’s facility, but rather at a facility full of octogenarians, nonagenarians, and centenarians.
What scares me is that I will reach that territory in just over five years. Hopefully, I will be more like my father who was still sharp and doing the company books as he turned 94. He didn’t start sounding like Biden did a year r two ago until about that time.
