"... with so few people having so much power. They would make huge economic decisions without calling [Treasury] secretary Yellen."
Said an unnamed member of Biden's Cabinet, quoted in "Meet the Biden 'politburo' accused of running the country in secret/There was the aide who demanded $4 million to advise the re-election campaign. There was the enforcer who 'cast out heretics.' And there was Jill Biden" (London Times).
The Five: Mike Donilon, Steve Ricchetti, Ron Klain, Bruce Reed, Anthony Bernal. Plus: Jill Biden, Hunter Biden.

Who the fuck are these people?
…and by saying that I don’t mean to suggest I didn’t know they didn’t exist I mean who are they? Also: those of you claiming Obama running things- looks like you were wrong. Wanna change your story and admit he’s a Bidenesque empty suit?
The London Times is a neocon publication, 100% on board with the Atlanticist —That's globalism with US-Western Europe as hegemon, project. The fact that these names are being offered up by that newspaper tells you all you need to know that they are small fry in the grand scheme of things. "It wasn't us, it was those guys!"
This is like that Nicholas Cage movie. "It's just another clue!"
Geez, they didn't even give Kamala an 'Honorable Mention'. I guess she was too busy finding replacement staff.
"I'm Shocked ! Shocked ! To discover that elder abuse by an unelected cabal is going on here !
"The fact that these names are being offered up by that newspaper tells you all you need to know that they are small fry in the grand scheme of things. "It wasn't us, it was those guys!" Yup. Isn't that the very meaning of "Modified Limited Hangout"?
Oh, come on, people - we need to move "forward."
Well, at least they weren't listening to that imbecile Janet Yellen.
Mike Donilon, Steve Ricchetti, Ron Klain, Bruce Reed, Anthony Bernal are the front for the cabal making the real decisions.
Decline from ?
George Santayana said that those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it. If we don't remember the recent past, we will certainly move forward into the same past we just left.
But of course they will all be punished...right? I mean, you know, after Pam Bondi aggressively investigates all of this...
You want to talk about our constitution hanging in the balance? Then let's talk first about unelected unidentified people using the Whitehouse pulpit and a signature machine to operate the powers of the presidency, with emerging evidence to suggest that at times or perhaps all of the time, the actual president didn't even consent or know. We'll get to addressing the sins of the big talking Queens boy in time - and there are sins. But if we follow the pareto principal, we must address the Biden presidency first and fully to be sure it can never happen again.
No mention of Jal,Susan and Barry??
An anonymous source said there were six people who ran the nation, a seventh unknown, and a ninth reporting incognito.
So, basically, they overthrew the US government for 4 years. A lot of people should be in prison for this.
It was open secret. I remember when Jill ran a cabinet meeting and nobody raised an eyebrow.
What do we know for certain? We know the Democrat sources Jake Tapper relies upon lie to him. He admits they lie to him and that he can’t distinguish a truth from a lie; and he hadn’t the intelectual curiosity to compare their statements to statements made by the Democrat opposition when they differ from what he’s been told by Democrats.
It's a good thing Yellen was ignored, she's the Jim Cramer of bureaucrats. BTW, I'd increase the names of "handlers" running the gubmint to include Obama's consigliere Susan Rice.
If you don't think Valerie Jarrett, Susan Rice, Samantha Powers, Barack Himself, and others in his administration had nothing to do with Biden's term, I think you're fooling yourself. Add in John Podesta. A lot of John Podesta.
And then there's this. A whole Cabal full of people and organizations: Time’s piece says, “It sounds like a paranoid fever dream — a well-funded cabal of powerful people, ranging across industries and ideologies, working together behind the scenes to influence perceptions, change rules and laws, steer media coverage and control the flow of information.”.
There are two obvious names missing from the list: Jen O'Malley Dillon - who was WH Deputy Chief of Staff for almost 4 years. And the most important name: Jeff Zients. He replaced Klain as Chief of Staff in Jan 2023. And until Feb 2022 he was a "Counselor to the President".
We are too mired in personalities. We need to know who made which decisions. These are the people who essentially operated as campaign staff. We know the "who." Where's the "what, when, where, why"? The Democrat media is disinterested. The DNC is in hiding.
treason convictions and firing squads for all of them...
Sure. Everyone else had mo idea.... Bullshit so unbelievable only a Democrat Party member would swallow it.
BTW, Dillion was also Biden's 2020 campaign manager and had worked for the Zuckerberg Chan Initiative before that. And Zients is on the Board of Directors of Facebook.
It seems pretty likely that USAID, controlled by a political friend of Biden's who was not required to be confirmed by the Senate funded the real government of the United States, which operated in the shadows, but was not what one might have called a "shadow government" in the past.
Reported by JOTUS (Jesters of the United States) by way of London?
When Klain left the white house he became legal counsel for Air bnb. If you look into it, all these guys have been in and out of Government. Klain for example was Biden Chief of staff as VP and served in the Clinton administration. When out of Government Klain, like all the others got jobs in Hedge funds, NGOs, and Tech firms.
It isn't that there were 'so few people', it's that they are hidden away with no responsibility for their actions and decisions, and that no one wanted them in such a position.
Jesters of the Unvetted Sympathies
OTOH I tremble to think of Joe Biden himself actually running things.
Since about, oh, 1992, I’ve had frequent occasion to think about Richard Nixon. Man, that guy was small potatoes. A virtual midget of corruption compared to the Democrats that succeeded him.
He was president in the same way he was a professor at Penn, earning $1 million, donated to his foundation by the ChiComs, to "teach a class" that there is no record of him ever teaching. I am sure he had "good intentions" of teaching those young men and women, but maybe at college age, they were too old for him, so he took the money, but never showed up.
It’s interesting the great lengths the Party went to trying to keep Kamala out of the White House. Until they found themselves boxed in during the 2024 campaign.
A message to the Brothers that few, if any, will understand.
I see stlcdr has entered a comment similar to my first thought. It isn't that the number of people is 'few' because right now there's only one big bad orange dude making decisions in the Executive Branch. The scandal is how these people were operating outside any sort of (small-d) democratic accountability for the actions they were taking.
Lots of hand wringing which will come to nothing. The guilty will get away with it.
Sharp Wooden stakes on the Ellipse
How many people do you need to make a cabal?
Remember, the WH staff are expected to be self serving political lying scum.
Lest we forget the VP and Cabinet who directly violated their oaths WRT the 25th Amendment
"Section 4. Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President."
"The Five: Mike Donilon, Steve Ricchetti, Ron Klain, Bruce Reed, Anthony Bernal. Plus: Jill Biden, Hunter Biden."
The Maleficent Seven. As others have pointed out, though, their cohorts are legion.
The Wise Men calling the shots
Lest we forget Bill & Barack 'crisis-lying...er...managing''
Just going out on a limb here and saying there will be absolutely no consequences.....
If any of this is a surprise, you haven’t been paying attention.
Temujin: the picture painted by Time Magazine in that audacious smear piece is disturbing enough, but it disguises an even more disturbing story. Time claims that certain union and industry leaders got worried about Trump "stealing" the 2020 election, and so they quickly created a massive coalition of nonprofits, unions, business leaders, ect. to work in unison to "make the election fair." This isn't true. The building of this very coalition began 25 years earlier, headed by the far-left People for the American Way. I was there (though later tossed out, as usual). So were the state and national leaders of every single group but one mentioned in the Time article -- the Chamber of Commerce took a bit longer to radicalize its leadership. In Georgia, it was named the Rural-Urban Coalition. Soros and PAW united an extraordinary network of nonprofits and unions who often didn't get along and funded them to work on election strategies, including lax voting rules and fomenting protest and racial divisiveness to win a permanent Democratic majority. By 2020, after years of hard work, they achieved their goal of making our election systems maximally unaccountable, and Biden was elected. Then came the open borders, crime, media lies, deplatforming, slander, and gaslighting that turned off so many ordinary Americans (of every race). They toiled 25 years to singlemindedly achieve radically leftist dominance by any means necessary, but it had nothing to do with Trump, except at the end as a useful target. They are about hating working Americans, silencing and pathologizing and disenfranchising them, and these termites toil on. Very few people understand how organized they are, and how radical their goals, but enough of us saw the results this time to put Trump back in office. Expect worse the next time.
These corksoakers must be investigated and prosecuted for the ongoing conspiracy to deprive Americans of their democracy. Their actions have caused massive failures, both foreign and domestic, and may yet destroy the USA.
Barky 0bama and the idiot Anita Dunn should also be included in that list of domestic terrorists.
Honestly, I believe Joe Biden nodded his assent to most policy decisions, served up as "slop" to him by the Five+Two.
"For those who do not know... Joe is learning-disabled and lives in a group home. But Joe loves slop. And that's when I realized.. Joe is slop.
What's slop? Slop is soft white rice in lukewarm water. It has no taste. We feed it to small baby and very old people. It is nourishment that everyone can digest. The world needs slop. Just as the world needs people like Joe."
Riders of the Purple Rage
These low level idiots are just the fall guys. Who was really calling the shots? we probably will never know. But nothing will happen to any of them. Republicans in congress, the msm, and most of us deplorables knew.
As usual, no one in the media really wants to find out the truth. No one in Congress gives a damn. and none of the simps who vomit their propaganda will admit they lied.
They want us to forget the lockdowns, the people killed by illegals, the grandmas jailed praying for aborted babies.
They expect us to treat someone as evil as biden with respectd and civility, when he and his supporters cheered when Rush died, when Trump was shot.
Nothing will change until a few hundred thousand of us go to DC and shut the city down. Until we admit that the courts are corrupt, incompetent, and being used to stop the agenda of an elected president.
Teh Ultimate Clown Posse 🤡
Sedition is a serious crime. Where are the indictments?
Biden is dragging this nation down from his deathbed.
Imagine how successful Donnie would have been if Biden didn’t get senile and develop cancer!
MAGAts obsession with this is predictable and hilarious. Just wait until the people digest the fact that a pudding brained geriatric and his shadowy handlers led the nation more effectively than the current gang of robber barons.
All white men! How dare they!
These are just the fall guys being set up by the Democratic establishment and the media - who were all on board with everything that was done.
One is reminded of Melakon in patterns of force, although Biden was never as noble,
the three witches that had the eye in clash of the titans,
A true rogues' gallery. An axis of evil.
It would be richly satisfying to see justice served, don't get me wrong, but I get the idea that it's a bad idea to drive using only the rear-view mirror. Maybe making absolutely sure what comes next isn't a new version of what came before, is a better way.
Things like this, for instance, are in front of us.
I can grasp how lazy incompetents like Yellen, Buttigieg, Austin, and Blinken let themselves get shunted aside by the Praetorian Guard. I’m a bit surprised that Jake Sullivan let himself be elbowed out. And I don’t for a moment believe Susan Rice didn’t have an oar in the water, given that she used the US Agency for International Development as a vehicle to give billions away to well-connected domestic recipients.
Democracy Dies in Deception
Those named may have been the on the ground operators in the WH, but were they the ones directing this whole operation? 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘺 were the ones in control? No way! The decisions made and the actions taken are too sweeping to think otherwise.
Go steep some onions, T.B. Haggis!
Reminds me of the Gang of Four (not the band!) - the cabal that of course included Mao's wife, Jiang Qing. As soon as Mao died, they were blamed for everything bad in his reign. Because of course the Party couldnt blame the single party system itself.
But the Dem leaders were in a better position than Deny and the other out of favor ChiComs. If they didn't like what the Gang of Five were doing, they could have just pulled the curtain on Biden much earlier and shamed him into resigning. Or gotten Harris to do the 25th. Or just joining with the Rs and impeaching/removing one or both of them.
They didnt, because they liked what was coming out of the WH, no matter if it was from Biden or the janitor. And really a big chunk of Dem voters liked it too.
Hence the need to blame the Gang in both countries.

Joe Bar @11:06AM… Yes, EXACTLY!!!
I Love a Democrat in some Prison Duds, JSM!
It’s What We All Need…
Sometimes I think that Althouse has given up on cruel neutrality.
I think I dubbed it a camarilla, although I didn't know it was five members, that held the eye,
I’m sorry, but getting $4 million to advise a reelection campaign does not count as running the country. And what were the huge economic decisions that were made without consulting Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen?
Yesterday’s list: Mike Donilon, Steve Ricchetti, Anita Dunn, Anthony Bernal, Ron Klain and Annie Tomasini.
Today’s list: Mike Donilon, Steve Ricchetti, Ron Klain, Bruce Reed, Anthony Bernal. Plus: Jill Biden, Hunter Biden.
Sorry Anita and Annie, you’re off the list.
Tomorrow’s list: Stephen Miller, Peter Navarro, Susie Wiles, Dan Scavino, Steven Cheung, Hayley Harrison. Also, Elon Musk, Peter Thiel, Melania Trump.
Obviously, the "politburo" were just the expendable actuators responding to the DNC Davos Star Chamber commands.
Junta? Cabal? Shadow government? Politburo? Praetorian Guard?
Whatever you call it, the people who did this to our country should be punished in the most vicious, pitiless fashion imaginable.
Until Our Betters at WaPo and the NYTimes tell us what to think about all this, I guess the best we can do it to take it from Left Bank.
The Directory, between the Revolution and Napoleon?
All men, except for Jill? I've seen Anita Dunn, and her husband Bruce, and Jennifer Something Or Other (Jen O'Malley Dillon) also on the list of insiders. Possibly it was all men. Easier to concentrate on the essentials.
Obama was out of the loop. He was basically phoning it in during his second term. After he'd punched his ticket and left the White House and got his payoff, he wasn't that involved.
"Tomorrow’s list: Stephen Miller, Peter Navarro, Susie Wiles, Dan Scavino, Steven Cheung, Hayley Harrison. Also, Elon Musk, Peter Thiel, Melania Trump."
Oh, blow it out your ass, Zippy. That's how the Democrats roll, doesn't mean everybody else does, too.
Left Bank of the Potomac Sewer provides a perfect example of the leftist specialty at 2:18 PM above- projection. Aside from fraud and incompetence, it's about all they've got going for them.
@shipwreckedcrew
“... It is now beyond dispute that the Democrat Party and the media was willing to do WHATEVER was necessary to re-elect Joe Biden -- up until the point that was made impossible by Joe Biden. This FACT only reinforces the view that the confluence of irregularities that attended the voting and voting counting in 2020 - in situations where the the election process was under the control of the Democrat political apparatus -- was another expression of the Democrat Party's willingness to
do WHATEVER was necessary to defeat Pres. Trump's re-election effort.
One goes hand-in-hand with the other.“
Sorry, Left Bank, could you try to make some sense? I don't understand your point.
Good story link, Aggie!
JSM @1:26, Batya Ungar-Sargon made this point in the later half of the Kelly podcast: with regard to policy, did Biden (or "Biden") do anything that we wouldn't expect a President Harris or President Newsom or President J. Shapiro to do? The effort to blame the electrical loads on Biden ignores the fact that, policy-wise, any potential non-Biden candidate was going to given exactly the way the Biden Politburo did.
That doesn't erase the fact that that Politburo (unlike Trump's cabinet secretaries, advisors, etc., Left Bank) was not only not operating in the open but was actively pursuing a strategy of deceiving the American public about who was making decisions on our nation's behalf, and punishing, discrediting, and silencing anyone who questioned their lies.
Sorry, electoral loss.
This book has all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation.
I'm a little confused as to what is wrong with an aide "demanding" $4 million to advise the re-election campaign. Could they not say "No, thank you?"

Sometimes I think that Althouse has given up on cruel neutrality.
A person can be neutral as to whether one party is better than the other at running the country. It is hard to be neutral about behavior that includes abusing an elderly man, propping him up because it gives you cover in whatever power games you are playing, then when it becomes obvious that Bernie is dead, casually he is tossed aside for an alternative that is lazy and rude yet never vetted by Democrat electors, and when they ultimately lose power, they give themselves pardons and walk away with zero accountability.
You are asking a lot from neutrality.
Throw in an obvious attempt by a partisan hack media personality to act like "who knew?", that is followed up by more hacks acting like "who knew?" EVERYBODY KNEW. What is the game these hacks think they are playing? They would have done better to keep walking away, but instead they came back to piss on your leg. Do they think it is funny because they were getting away with it? This is the mistake petty criminals make that gets them caught. But this isn't a petty crime.
"They would make huge economic decisions without calling [Treasury] secretary Yellen."
Well, to be fair, she was probably busy baking cookies in a hollow tree trunk somewhere.
The Democrats pull this shit and wonder why Trump is popular among the folks.
People I most what to see under oath: Secretary of State, Secretary of Defense, National Security Advisor.

The Democrats pull this shit and wonder why Trump is popular among the folks.
What the Democrats did was perfectly normal and they were just copying a pattern that has played out repeatedly in history. Most countries have a government of the type that the Democrats installed and were trying to maintain.
For example Russia. They have a government that most people don't really like. They control the media, the internet, popular culture, education system etc. They spy on and jail their political opposition. They have militia irregulars attacking and burning citizens stuff. Corrupt federal law enforcement.
Everyone knows Putin runs Russia but he isn't the President just like everyone knows Biden was Obama's 3rd term.
The Democrats didn't think they were going to be popular. They just thought they could keep the people mollified enough to hold power and keep the corruption going like every other country in the world.
There are very few people in the world that are capable of an actually free society that are able to form and organize political parties. The average Republican voter right now is a 1960's Kennedy Democrat ideologically.
It is fashionable for "smart" people to make fun of the intelligence of Trump voters. But that is the irony is they are too stupid to see what they have accomplished.

No. This is not the appropriate response.
These people need to be made an example of that lasts generations.
"that lasts generations."
You misspelled "millenniums".
Just sayin'.

Cruel neutrality gave up on her.
What they did was a political crime of the first order, but not necessarily a legal crime, plus it will be difficult to put them in prison even if they lie about it under oath because of the DC jury pool. The best we can hope for is they're hounded out of lucrative employment for life, but they probably have protected sinecures already lined up. I doubt we'll see their memoirs.
Pompous Historical Reference: How many to make up a cabal? Answer: at least five-- Clifford, Arlington, Buckingham, Ashley and Lauderdale.
I think that if you prosecute Autopen and the White House doctors (medical malpractice), some insiders will crack and talk to the FBI and then we can get some more of these criminals and they'll rat out some more and so on. I would start with the doctors. I've had cancer and it hurts and I simply don't believe Biden had advanced cancer and wasn't on painkillers or steroids or something. Then sometimes he'd be off whatever drugs were used and he'd meet with people like Joe Scarborough and be pretty sharp. So I think the doctors have to talk. They have to explain why the President wasn't treated. They must. Or another idea is that somewhere there is a record of painkillers going to White House or to Delaware. Present day medicine doesn't let opiods and steroids float around; records are kept on what was received and what was sent out and to whom.
Whose Democrats? YOUR Democrats! All five are mainstream Democrats since the early 1980s and lack significant experience outside politics or placeholder positions while their guy was out of office. Who is responsible? People that supported the Democrat party in any form or fashion in the past 40 years. Renounce your former suppor!
“Jesters of the Unvetted Sympathies“
I like it.
“This book has all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation.“
All Intelligence Agencies From Rome to Rio agree.
I wonder about specific moments that even at the time made no sense. Biden wasn't doing well in the primaries until he won South Carolina with Clyburns help. I assumed it made him competitive, but suddenly one competitor after another dropped out of the race and he was declared the nominee. On election night in 2020 I decided to stay up to the end since I was recently retired. Suddenly the news announced a "pause" in the counting - something I never heard of happening before. When I turned on the news in the morning, Trump's lead had vanished. No discussion of how either thing had happened. On a third issue I see a partial answer. Imagine the effort and cost of transporting 20,000 to one small Ohio city. Who paid for it all? Thanks to DOGE we now know the American taxpayer did. But why? If the assumption is the will be reliiable Democratic voters it is a bad one.. Not good when the choices are criminal, incompetent or both.
