"Mr. Buttigieg’s decision to skip the 2026 race to succeed Senator Gary Peters, a retiring Democrat, allows him to pivot more easily to the next contest for the White House...."

"Mr. Buttigieg determined he could not run for both the Senate and the White House, according to one of the people familiar with his planning..... Mr. Buttigieg, who ran for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination, was seen as the most prominent potential contender in next year’s marquee Senate contest.... But he also would have been vulnerable to 'carpetbagger' attacks, and was plainly aware of that risk. Mr. Buttigieg, a former mayor of South Bend, Ind., became a Michigan resident in 2022, moving to Traverse City, where he lives with his husband, Chasten, and their twin toddlers.... Term limits will preclude Gov. Gretchen Whitmer from running for a third time next year, and Mr. Buttigieg is not expected to pursue that office...."

From "Pete Buttigieg, a Possible 2028 Contender, Won’t Run for Senate in Michigan/The former transportation secretary, who moved to Michigan from Indiana in 2022, had been seen as the most prominent potential candidate in next year’s marquee contest" (NYT).

The difference between Mayor Pete and Sean Duffy as Transportation Secretaries is stark. Mayor Pete has demonstrated his executive ineptitude twice now. His skill is speaking, not doing.

What does Pete bring to the table? He ran for Prez in '20 and his BS didn't take him very far, then, in spite of the air time he received. What has improved in his portfolio, besides pictures of the Happy Moment in the hospital, with hubby, as if one of them just delivered, not to mention the 'chestfeeding' moments? I cannot think of a single accomplishment of his Sec Trans assignment, except shameful non-delivery at great taxpayer expense.

Yes, by all means, run for office again. Get some practice by running for the Senate, and don't worry - you'll still be available in '28.

So other than being gay, what exactly are his qualifications? Worst Transportation Secretary ever? Failure as a small town mayor? Recently moved domicile because he was too well known as a loser in his hoime state?

Who is the constituency for this candidacy? The Rainbow people? Over-credentialed halfwits produced by our university system? Purple-haired government employees?

What has he ever accomplished that makes him qualified to be president?

This guy was a mayor of a college town and then a bumbling Secretary of Transportation who's most known for taking a lengthy maternity leave without hardly anyone noticing and being overly concerned by racist bridges.

This candidacy is just another grift. He'll raise a bunch of campaign funds even though he's going nowhere and all the hangers-on will feed off of it before he drops out after Iowa.

A pertinent question regarding Trump, as well. He was a mediocre president last time--probably because he didn't really do much, and things mostly ran on the bureaucratic engines. Robert Cook said...

"Well.... maybe, except for all of the evidence. What's the price of eggs, Cookie? How about inflation rate, Cookie? What's the price of gas, Cookie? Who's initiating a peace process, Cookie."

Well, the increase in prices for eggs had to do with an avian flu that killed off more than 100 million egg-bearing birds in the last couple of years. As the bird flu subsides and more birds are surviving to bear eggs, the price of eggs subside. It has nothing to do with anything Trump has done, (just as the jump in egg prices had nothing to do with anything Biden did.)

As for the early signs of decreasing prices, that could be a good thing, but too early, if so, to be credited to Trump. But, it might not be a good sign: the lowering prices could be indications of deflation, a possible harbinger of a recession. Given the Trump-created cratering of Wall Street, it is too soon to be hanging garlands around Trump's shoulders for anything.

y'all may remember, that i kept saying that back in 2024 it was going to be Michelle O'Bama as President..

Here's an article at substack by Laura Ainsworth, "explaining" WHY that DIDN'T happen..
https://govmikehuckabee.substack.com/p/finally-is-this-the-real-reason-michelle?utm_source=multiple-personal-recommendations-email&utm_medium=email&triedRedirect=true

basic gist:
a piece from a little over a month ago in AMERICAN THINKER by Jerome Corsi that, if he’s right, explains it. The way he tells it, Michelle, not Kamala, actually was supposed to be the nominee.

..just under 30 minutes after post-debate Biden withdrew in a social media post on X, he posted again that after deciding “not to accept the nomination and to focus all my energies on my duties as President for the remainder of my term,” he offered his “full support and endorsement for Kamala"..

so, the idea is that Biden threw a wrench by quickly endorsing Kammy, and since Biden’s action of positioning Kamala before Michelle was an “unpardonable offense,” Corsi explains, they weren’t going to help her win. They would let HER crash-and-burn this time.

The article Also talks about the voter fraud that DIDN'T happen this time (unlike my predictions)..
There's no link to the American Thinker article, which is too bad, 'cause it is the source, and probably better
