From the New York Post:

Connecticut’s Democrat-appointed, social worker-heavy Psychiatry Security Review Board approved the early release from a secure mental hospital of a cannibal ax murderer who ate his victim’s brain and eyeball with chopsticks and washed it down with a glass of sake.

Tyree Smith, 48, who killed and ate Angel “Tun Tun” Gonzalez in 2011, was deemed “not guilty by reason of insanity” by three judges and sentenced to 60 years in a maximum-security psychiatric facility.

But on Friday, the board, whose six members were appointed by Connecticut’s Democratic Gov. Ned Lamont, and only one of whom is an actual psychiatrist, decided in a majority decision that, despite the protests of both his and his victim’s families, Smith should get out 50 years early because he promised to take his meds.

The board concluded that Smith was not “experiencing cravings” to eat human flesh, but he would “reach out to his hospital” if he had the urge.

Trump has criticized the current trade dynamics with Mexico and Canada as “very unfair” to the U.S. during his 2024 campaign and post-election rhetoric. For example, in a December 2024 Fox News interview with Maria Bartiromo, he expressed intent to renegotiate the USMCA upon taking office, citing issues like the auto industry and trade deficits.

Some, like Trump, are able to acknowledge mistakes, Inga. Try it sometime.

This is so very very strange. Something LLR-democratical Rich (Kak + Anonymous Coward) not only told us would not happen, but COULD NOT happen.....yet there it is:

"Apple will spend more than $500 billion in the U.S. over the next four years

Teams and facilities to expand in Michigan, Texas, California, Arizona, Nevada, Iowa, Oregon, North Carolina, and Washington

Plans include a new factory in Texas, doubling the U.S. Advanced Manufacturing Fund, a manufacturing academy, and accelerated investments in AI and silicon engineering"

We have literally reached the point where every single prediction/assessment offered up by our Abacus Boy is so far off the rails and blown up by reality so quickly that you have to wonder if its actually a studious effort by our resident buffoon to undermine his own credibility completely for some unknown reason.

Perhaps he will explain it to us.....but after the last several years of election prediction hilarity (do you know how hard this fella bit down on the transparently fake Ann Selzer non-poll?) I suspect he will not.

Lets see what happens next.

She's just irritated that her New Soviet Democratical lies and hoaxed up claims were right there on video and available for anyone to watch and to realize immediately what an astonishingly shameless liar she is, has been and will almost certainly continue to be.

During the years long russia collusion hoax battles, P-Inga was able to push lie after lie on a daily basis (which she did gleefully) because the New Soviet Democraticals kept all the facts hidden for so long and had complete control of the means for censoring social media and media in general to serve the dems.

P-Inga and her pals no longer have those things and the frustration they are clearly feeling comes thru in every posting.

Meanwhile, the entire edifice of the enemy occupation government is being dismantled. Hundreds of mutinous petty-tyrant government employees, corrupt politicians of both parties, and their globalist cronies are going to prison, and thousands more will be stripped of everything they own.

We are going to smash the government octopus, and the war pigs and leeches who enrich themselves from the taxes of the working man, and the kind of people who love government for its own sake, harder than anyone has hit them since the Coolidge administration.

Donald John Trump will go down in history as the savior of his country. He will be spoken of in the same breath as Washington and Lincoln.

As per the article the figure “includes regular spending on thousands of US suppliers, data centers and corporate facilities”. Not necessarily new investments or 500bn in spending over and above what they’d be spending in the next 4 years anyway.

So they’re just including the regular costs that they would have spent either way. I’ll hand it to Cook he understands that Trump (and Drago) only cares about nice headlines with no mind for details.

Apple's being wise to use existing commitments to make news and please the Trump WH.

Vladimir Putin Dumps Cold Water on Trump’s Bragging About Ukraine
Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin need to get their story straight, because they’re both telling different tales about negotiations to end Russia’s violent incursion into Ukraine.
Trump bragged Monday about working with Putin while recapping his meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron and other G7 leaders about next steps to deescalate the war in Ukraine.
“I am in serious discussions with President Vladimir Putin of Russia concerning the ending of the War, and also major Economic Development transactions which will take place between the United States and Russia,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social. “Talks are proceeding very well!”
But, surprise, surprise, it seems Putin is on an entirely different page.
During remarks on Russian state television Monday, Putin said he had yet to have any detailed talks with Trump about ending the conflict in Ukraine, according to the Associated Press.
The autocrat added that Russian and American negotiating teams hadn’t discussed ending the war, either, during a meeting in Saudi Arabia last week.
So, which is it, “serious discussions” or conversations lacking in details? The muddled answers could suggest something is awry in negotiations, if one can even call Trump’s endless capacity for caving to Putin’s every demand a negotiation. Republican spines have dissolved in to Russian cheerleaders behind their compromised King..My God madge,,WTF happened to these people..Macron tols trump he is being played by the guy who lied in 2014 about peace and the peanut gallery asked today how the fuk do you trust Putin to keep his word,,Trump just drools....sad and on live TV

Tesla Sales Fall 45% in Europe as Rivals’ EV Registrations Soar ~ Bloomberg

What is worrying for Tesla is no longer Europe, but China. There sales are falling by 15% annualized and the decline is worsening with each passing week. In the most competitive market in the world, which accounts for 60% of global EV sales, Tesla is now 4th in the ranking, behind BYD, Xpeng and Li Auto. Xiaomi is about to unseat him and, surely, will do so in a couple of months.

Tesla has a very limited product line, its assisted driving software is not comparable and is an important extra. Its division for selling batteries for energy backup is in decline in the face of unbeatable competition from BYD, which is a manufacturer as opposed to a mere reseller like Tesla. Its sale of emission rights will suffer competition from Chinese manufacturers, who have such rights to spare.

Makes their P/E ratio of x160 look positively daft.

It is inevitable that in a few months the stock will fall precipitously.

Jaq said...

Joe Biden said that he believed that there was nothing that America couldn't do. That was magical thinking by a senile old man, we can't produce enough weapons to win the war in Ukraine in a way that wouldn't quickly escalate into WW3, especially given the manpower shortages that Ukraine is facing, and the fact that the West has no interest in sending its own sons to die in a war that, at the end of the day, and like Obama famously said, is not a core interest for us, but is for Russia. One sure sign that Ukraine is running out of soldiers is the propaganda coming out of Kiev that Russia is sending wounded soldiers on crutches into battle. Well, the pace of Russian advance is accelerating, and apparently they are doing this with donkeys, golf carts, and now soldiers on crutches.

The whole purpose of this propaganda is to pretend that we are *this close* to winning this thing, and Trump is throwing away the victory, when in fact, the West is out of weapons to send, and Ukraine is out of soldiers to fight.

We could give Zelensky nuclear capable Tomahawk cruise missiles that can reach Moscow, he asked for that, no way that would start WW3! but we can't give him the 100,000 troops he says he needs. The war is over, but the history of war says that the very last thing that the losing side runs out of is delusion.

Europe wants no negotiated settlement, they want Ukraine to flat out lose the war, because they need Russia to be scary in order to keep the US in Europe. If the US and Russia come to a mutual understanding for a stable peace in Europe, this is a dagger to the heart for the kleptocrats who have control of state power in Europe.

@gilbar: The original Musk email strongly resembled phishing or spam, and employees were instructed to send it to OPM. OPM handles the hiring platform USAJobs, job descriptions, and personnel records, but does not manage any employee in any other agency.

Of the greatest concern, OPM failed to safeguard federal security clearance records in 2015 -- allowing China to harvest upwards of 20M ultra sensitive personnel files. Those affected now receive lifetime credit monitoring for free.

SEVERAL TRUMP APPOINTED CABINET MEMBERS including Gabbard, Patel, Rubio, and Hegseth apparently instructed employees to ignore the OPM email.

Even funnier, Saint Croix, is that Pussy Galore actually worked for me.

Some background from Grok:

“Charles Engelhard Jr. (February 15, 1917 – March 2, 1971) was a fascinating figure—an American businessman, philanthropist, and metals magnate who left a significant mark on both industry and culture. He was born into wealth in New Jersey, the son of a German immigrant who had built a successful business in precious metals. After his father’s death in 1950, Charles took the reins of the family company, Engelhard Industries, and turned it into a global powerhouse.
He had a knack for business, particularly in the refining and trading of precious metals like gold, silver, and platinum. Under his leadership, Engelhard Industries became a leader in the industry, supplying materials for everything from jewelry to industrial catalysts. One of his shrewdest moves was capitalizing on South Africa’s vast mineral wealth. He established connections there and built a fortune by controlling a significant chunk of the global platinum market. His influence was so outsized that some believe he inspired the character of Auric Goldfinger in Ian Fleming’s James Bond novel—Fleming reportedly met Engelhard at a party and was intrigued by his larger-than-life persona and gold obsession.
Engelhard wasn’t just about profit, though. He was a big player in philanthropy, especially in New Jersey, where he funded libraries, hospitals, and universities. He also had a passion for horse racing—owning a stable of thoroughbreds and winning prestigious races like the Kentucky Derby through his wife’s horse, Nijinsky II. Politically, he leaned Democratic, supporting figures like Lyndon B. Johnson, which gave him some sway in Washington circles.
His personal life was colorful too. Married to Jane Reiss in 1947, he had five daughters and lived a life of luxury, splitting time between his estate in Far Hills, New Jersey, and other properties around the world. He was known for his charisma, sharp mind, and a certain ruthlessness in business that earned him both admirers and rivals.
He died relatively young at 54, in 1971, from a heart attack while in Boca Raton, Florida. His legacy lived on through his company—which eventually evolved into parts of modern corporations like BASF—and his family’s continued influence. Engelhard was a classic mid-20th-century tycoon: ambitious, connected, and a little larger than life.”

Charlie was long gone by the time I joined Engelhard, but the story was that a certain young lady that worked for me was Charlie’s regular travel companion. She was in her sixties when I knew her, but still a very attractive woman, and no she wasn’t a pilot.

What gave credence to the story was that Charlie’s widow Jane always stopped by to chat with her when she came by the office.
