Even with today's higher-priced avocados, the fanciest avocado toast is basically $1-2 worth of ingredients, with minimal preparation. The other $10 or more goes to the high cost of running a restaurant (and even then, many don't make it). You're paying to go out to eat, at the type of hip/healthy/youthful establishment that would have it on the menu. While you could make it yourself at home for far less money, if you did, you'd realize that it's basically just a sad half-sandwich.
Not that avocados are any sort of sticking point, but they do have an advantage for Mexico. Avocado is climacteric: the fruit only ripens off the tree. Generally, only 2-3 weeks worth of crop is harvested, which is how long they last in shipping. The mature, but unripe, fruit can be stored on the tree for months. So rotting piles of brown goo aren't going to be a problem.

Corona is not a good beer and we have a domestic avocado industry in the United States. (PLus, I have an avocado tree in my back yard.)
Northern San Diego County was once the Avocado capitol of the world. I lived there. There were avocado orchards everywhere. But the lack of water killed them and the trees were cut down.
The lack of water happened when Delta Smelt became more important than avocados. For Delta Smelt, many thousands of avocado trees died, picking and packing businesses went out of business (I developed software for them), and thousands of grove workers lost their jobs. All of that moved across the border into Mexico, which didn't have avocado groves, pickers/packers, and packing warehouses before. They didn't even have water before then; but they've since increased their draw from the Colorado River.
Corona sucks. SoCal people drink Pacifico, Modelo, or Dos XX at home or in Mexico. Even Tecate is better than Corona. Sorry, Snoop Dogg; Corona ain't as cool as you are.
More importantly, Mexico didn't have either Delta Smelt or California politicians.
