This is what has me so befuddled. My husband and I were talking last night about the uproar over the revelations about USAID - he's been watching "reaction" videos. He's telling me that Democrats say they're standing on their principles. His befuddlement stems from the fact that they can't win using those principles. Mine stems from the fact that the principles they're standing on are things like, "Government agencies should do oversight on themselves - no one else should be involved!" and "People of ethnic or sexual minorities - and women, of course - can't compete!" and "When it comes to offense, the smallest number of offended people is the group we must all change our language and behavior to accommodate!" and "In the scheme of things, only a few girls with penises compete against girls without penises! So what's the problem, bigot?"
This is an 80% issue, meaning that 80% of voters think trans men should not be allowed in women’s sports.

I'm of two minds about Trump's EO removing biological males from girl's sports. First, as a father of girls, I would not let them play against boys by reason of difference in physical size. On the other hand, girls have been allowed to cross that barrier when, and only when, they choose to do so.
1974 - Girls win discrimination lawsuit and join boys Little League. No reciprocity.
1978 - Court rules in favor of female sports writers access to men's locker room. No reciprocity.
2019 - Boy Scouts of America unilaterally begin admitting girls.

GSUSA has said that the BSA's decision was motivated by a desire to increase enrollment numbers, and that the BSA should instead address systemic issues. Will this allow boy's only sports leagues? Will female sports writers be refused entry to men's locker rooms?

Several years ago on this site I commented that we should NOT call men who want to be treated as women "transgender women", we should call them "transgender men". That's an accurate description: They are men who aspire to be treated as women; they are NOT any kind of woman. If they were women, the "transgender" adjective would be unnecessary.
But I just saw a news story that "reported" that Trump's policies would keep "transgender women and girls" out of women's sports. No! Trump would keep "men and boys" out of women's sports (and locker rooms).

Do not tell me this is about a tiny minority.
