That's Trump:

He's talking about that Julia Roberts ad I was laughing at 2 days ago, here. I said: "I don't believe many men are bullying their wives about voting the 'right' way. I think it's a lot more likely that a woman might see how important the election is to her husband and simply choose not to cast a vote that effectively cancels his vote."

I guess leftist women are used to lying to their husbands about other things so lying about voting is not that big of a deal. My husband and I usually print out a sample ballot and discuss each candidate and issue and how we plan to vote a week or so before we vote.
If we have differing opinions on a candidate, we each explain our reasoning. Most of the time, one will change the mind of the other, usually due to having info previously unknown to the other.
Leftist women seem to enjoy being at odds with their spouse as if it is how things are supposed to be and a sign of their superiority. They think that my agreeing with my husband on any issue means I'm brow-beaten and "under his thumb".
You don’t tell Meade who you’re voting for? I bet the reason isn’t to mislead him; nor is it because you’re afraid of him.

This misogynistic comment about supposedly inferior wives comes from the convicted 34-count felon and former president who was also delared to be sexually abusive toward E. Jean Carroll by a federal jury to the extent of $88 million in civil penalties. He also attacked the judge's daughter who happened to a Democrat and NY AG Tish James who happens to be a black female for successfully suing The Donald for $454 million worth of fraud.
I am confident enough to speak freely in front of my husband. I am more political than he is, and never relied on him or any other man to tell me how I should think and feel. I am proudly voting for President Trump again, for the 3rd time. I am still Tea Party in a country that is circling the drain because of the incompetence of the Political class that hates us.
Propaganda works. Just look who believes in the STATE RUN MEDIA!!^^^^^^^^
"You don’t tell Meade who you’re voting for? I bet the reason isn’t to mislead him; nor is it because you’re afraid of him."
No, and he didn't even ask me. Part of a relationship is mystery.
This misogynistic comment about supposedly inferior wives
Please to be providing your thought process on how the quote in your post is misogynistic.
There is such an unreality to the media created to support Harris. That Atwood author tweeted a Lukavich cartoon yesterday showing a line of women in “Handmaiden” get-up entering the voting booth and exiting the other side dressed normally, still in a single file line. Heaps of discarded red dresses and white bonnets lined either side of the path. It made no sense unless you believe like Tim Walz that Trump is in charge and voting for Harris will change things. The person who retweeted it asked, “What, you mean this is happening under Biden?”
It’s kookoo.
The conceit is that a single vote for president is more important to married life than, say, the thermostat setting or whether to buy Cheerios or store brand Oaty Ohs.
That was the sense that I got from Trump's comment. My wife and I are on the 'agree to disagree' end of the spectrum but we know. It's a leftist fantasy that women are 'secretly' voting against their husbands.
It still makes no sense par for the course for luckovich
She knows that Meade is MAGA and doesn't want to antagonize him. Happy Husband, Happy Marriage.
He knows your politics and chooses the Happy Wife, Happy Life mode. It's good that you decided not to vote so as not to cancel out his vote. That's a good wife.
Little heavy on the amyls with your “friends” last name that I see.
With Julie Roberts, you have to remember Eat, Pray, Love (2010), for which there was no excuse.
Any wife bringing Oaty Oh's back to her husband deserves the doghouse.
Last night. AI is retarded.
Ah. You said it before and I didn't pay full attention.
Good for you. What a husband and a wife do to stay happily married is their own business, and we all make different choices.
The trouble with those smart strong women is they usually won’t tell.
But this year mine is volunteering that she’s voting for Trump and seriously cares that he wins. The Dems have jumped the shark.
My attitude is that my wife doesn’t need to tell me everything. She’ll tell me what she wants me to know. Which is everthing.
Somehow it’s worked for 52 years.
My wife still twits me about 2016. She voted for Trump in the Republican primary, and I voted for Cruz. I only voted for Trump in the election because he had to be better than Clinton. But I have been voting for him ever since, and plan to vote for him again. Because, like Bill, despite personal faults, he did a really good job as President. And Lord knows, he is a 1000 times better than Kamala. But of course we tell each other who we vote for. We have been best friends for 46 years. Who am I going to tell before her?
My wife had been, before she voted early last week, very sad about the available choices. I've been clear that I'm casting a useless vote for Trump in Massachusetts, but while I think that's the best choice, she should vote for whoever she wants and tell me who she voted for or not, her choice.
Our daughters, being young, single, college educated women are naturally voting for Harris and have been pressuring their mom to do the same. Maybe they think she's gettable since they're bothering her and none of them have been foolhardy enough to try to bend my vote.
My wife usually knows what I'm thinking before I do.
Wouldn't mail-in ballots make the overbearing husband a much bigger problem?
How is his comment misogynistic? Are you only a feminist if you lie to your husband? The judge's daughter was a propagandist btw.
I have heard Happy Wife Happy Life. I prefer Happy Spouse Happy House because it flows both ways.
For minor races, my spouse wants to see my research before voting. Lying would be unnecessary.
My wife only recently told me she voted for Biden in 2020. Previously, she had refused to say who she voted for. I knew it was Biden because she has TDS and is a registered Democrat.
My wife was embarrassed to vote for Biden and is embarrassed to vote for Kamala-lala-ding-dong, but she is a life long Democrat. Some days, it sounds like she took the red pill, but she always reverts back to the party and their media allies.
That's what we do too. We discuss the issues and the candidates and compare our interpretation of what each stands for or means. What's to lie about?
If you are in a real, loving relationship, you know which way your spouse is moving without needing an express declaration of who each other is voting for. What kind of shitty relationships do all these reporters have, that not only do they not know, but they think no one else does?
Leftists have an insatiable need to feel - and have other leftists perceive them as - heroic. While normal people view mendacity as perverse, leftists see it as virtuous.
True - whoever opens the mail can fill them all in themselves!
I don't understand people like that. The slavish devotion to an ideology that is corrupt is beyond my comprehension. Doesn't she see the illegal aliens murdering, doesn't she buy groceries or gas? Doesn't she see the lawfare against citizens who simply have a different opinion? The old Democrat party of JFK or Tipp O'Neill or your parents is long gone.
My wife knows how I vote, but I don't know/don't ask about her choices. At some point down the line it will come out, just like in 2020.
It appears that liberal women, to a significant degree, treat their husband's as the e enemy. So the need to lie and deceive them. They live up to their distasteful reputation. Is it any surprise that divorce is so prevalent.......no.
My wife knows exactly how I am voting. Her vote, however, is something of a mystery, and I don’t ask. Living in Los Angeles, my vote is meaningless as is hers.

When Trump says he’s going to protect women “whether they like it or not,” he’s just echoing a long-running theme of the Republican Party, that women are supposed to be pliable extensions of the egos of men, and nothing more.
Holy smokes. Trump is screwed.
Just close your eyes and try to imagine how Trump and his team would have handled this news (just breaking last night) if it was about any leading Democratic candidate.

"...This misogynistic comment about supposedly inferior wives " Yes, that's precisely the Democrat play book talking, right there, thank you - we know all the plays by now. Isn't it exhausting, for you? Sad.
Ha My wife has TDS She tells me at least once a day how she will vote. We always cancel each other out in the vote. We vote by mail. I take the ballots to the mail box. I do mail them. Vote by mail opens up several chain of custody opportunities for shenanigans with vote. I wish we all voted the same day and had to show up in person with ID and use paper ballots. I do not trust the voting system at all know. It looks like a gimmick for claiming we are a democracy.
My wife's vote is not mystery, she's an immigrant and she's voting MAGA - like many of them do - something you quickly find out, when you start talking with them.
And I would remind all, that the 'Julia' commercial is only showing one ballot being filled in, without identifying which lady it belongs to.
You know how I know I'm trending MAGA? I don't care how Ms. Althouse voted, I'm just grateful for the space she curates. And glad that she holds our Constitutional values sacred.
I see it as an insatiable need to be perceived as virtuous, but only as compared to those around them. They're mostly closeted Puritans, incipient scolds.
This misogynistic comment about supposedly inferior wives...
Misogynistic? How? In what way? Elaborate, please.
50/50 partnership
So Harris Campaign promotes notion that their well-educated AWFL base is somehow also cowed by their husbands? Meaning IF they've husbands or male partners? Divorce rate in America notes that about half American marriages fail, that half our kids are raised in single-parent households, and yet Democrats now believe they need to do an intervention for married Democratic Party lady-members?
Seems to be classic Democrat-elitist stereotyping bias: women need to be encouraged to not vote the way their MAGA male SOs direct them. Seems to me Harris Campaign is resorting to new policy: active encouragement of AWFLs to "liberate" themselves, go gay, or go find a Beta Tim Walz man.
There are a lot of Chicago brown/black working-class folks that are actively supporting Trump this election cycle, given their MAGA TikTok videos.
"I faked all my votes!"
"So Harris Campaign promotes notion that their well-educated AWFL base is somehow also cowed by their husbands?"
It's Schrodinger's Empowerment. Left-aligned women are simultaneously strong and independent girlbosses who can stand up to anyone, and also pathetic, oppressed victims who can't possibly be responsible for their own decisions. The exist in a state of quantum flux until one narrative becomes more convenient for the moment.
LOL
You guys aren't even really trying anymore, are you?
Bich trawling the literal bottom of the barrel this morning. Hey, Bich- did your boyfriend vote for Harris or do you suspect he lied to you?
We laugh at you because you are listening to a Media that has been caught lying over and over and over again.
We don't even need Trump to "react." We aren't stupid robots like you.
Don't think like that. Thinking is not allowed for NPCs.
You have no self awareness at all. You can't even use full quotes.
Just a dishonest piece of shit from top to bottom.
My wife and I both know that I trend R and she trends D; she also knows that I sometimes vote 3rd party.
Neither of us is bothered by the notion of canceling the other's vote.
Here in Texas the 6 week limit on abortion has enough women up in arms to possibly kill the re-election of Ted Cruz.
Mark Halperin has mentioned several times that a completely bogus hit piece on Trump has been shopped around for a while. He wouldn't touch it because he still has some integrity left. Guess this is what he was referring to.
It's not ideology, Megthered. She is relatively moderate and does not buy all the lefty BS. However, Democrats have successfully branded themselves as the "good people". She wants to be a good person, and she is, except for her politics.
States like Colorado that adopt full mail-in ballots are effectively eliminating the secret ballot. Once that came in here, the Democrats never lost another state-wide race, and we became a deep blue outpost of California. Not a coincidence. That is the irony (not to say deep hypocrisy) I see in the Julia Roberts ad.
Yesterday(?) Althouse said "I think it's a lot more likely that a woman might see how important the election is to her husband and simply choose not to cast a vote that effectively cancels his vote." and repeated it again to today. I thought about responding then but didn't, so I will now. I suppose that's possible but I find it highly unlikely. When my soon to be ex and I were together she always knew who I was voting for and she also knew I didn't care who she voted for. She was, however, apolitical so usually didn't vote. There's no way her non-votes were in any way because she didn't want to cancel mine. When we got married we were on opposite sides, she was conservative and I was liberal. Curiously, we have switched sides over the years.
Until he ran for president wasn't lying to his wives what Trump was most famous for in New York?
Saving up for a blog post?
"Leftist women seem to enjoy being at odds with their spouse as if it is how things are supposed to be and a sign of their superiority."
Hard to call yourself strong and independent when you're making the same choices as the patriarchy does.
"Until he ran for president wasn't lying to his wives what Trump was most famous for in New York?"
No.
Thanks for playing.
Democratic pollster Celinda Lake, who’s doing work for independent expenditure groups in the presidential election, suggested the Harris ad with Julia Roberts could be effective, even if it doesn’t completely capture the dynamic she’s found in some relationships when it comes to voting.
“When we’re trying to interview them or if you’re canvassing these married women, they’ll say, ‘Well, you should really be talking to my husband. He knows more about this, or he follows politics,’ or ‘I just get his opinion on politics,’” Lake explained.
“These women presume that he has greater expertise, and he presumes that he has greater expertise. And so the first part of moving these women is to say you have your own way of doing things. You have your own opinion,” she added.
If this ad determines how you vote, you don't have your own opinion.
Young men: Look for someone who very much wants and tries to please you. Express appreciation. Never bully. Never quarrel, never explain. Always lead by example.
What's he have to do with Texas state law?
And some of us (like me) don't want to know who you voted for. You've got a great blog. You're fair with everyone. As long as it stays that way, we'll keep coming regardless of who you voted for.
Amen. And Omaha!
Somebody has to be punished.
Same here. She counts on me to identify the Progs in Conservative clothing. Often there is no conservative in down-ballot races so the CPUSA or Natural Law candidate gets our votes. It doesn’t matter in our state as we have North Korean-style mail-in voting.
I guess lying to his creditors. That's what his bankruptcies amounted to.
I never tell my roommates who I'm voting for and they never ask.
"Religion and politics often make some people lose all perspective and give way to ranting and raving and carrying on like emotional children. They either refuse to discuss it with reason or else they prefer argumentum ad hominem, which is a hell of a way to conduct a discussion. Well, anyhow, not long ago, I was talking about the elections and how the campaigns were ignoring the issues, and sticking instead to invective and personal crap that had nothing to do with the substantive problems of running a government (which is all true, as you know if you followed the speeches and so-called debates of the candidates). Anyhow, one of the guys I was talking with said not a word in the whole conversation, except at the end, when he suddenly chuckled and said we were all full of shit and why didn't we go live in Russia or China if that was the way we all hated the United States of America? Next thing you know, the whole blooming discussion was more like a brawl and the epithets flew thick and fast and the noise was incredible! Someone said "son of a bitch" and I think he said "bastard!" (I couldn't be sure; it was all so confusing.) Well, anyhow, I was attempting to get it all back on a rational level. I tried, for example, to talk to the one who had started it all, and I asked him just what did he mean we were all full of shit? Was he making a statement of fact as he knew it and where was his documentation to back up his claim? I think Socrates would have been proud of the way I refuted his argument. That is, I tried to refute it. But all he could offer by way of rebuttal was more of the same: about how we were all full of shit. But he wouldn't say why; he just kept on repeating it. That and the part about Russia and China and communist dupes. And I'll have to confess that I got a bit angry and told him to stuff his ideas up his ass (which you don't have to tell me is hardly a way to convince anyone in an argument). Then he got salty and threatened to give me a punch in the mouth if I didn't shut up. And I really got hot and the others did, too. And we all beat the shit out of Mr. Conservative. And, after all, he had only himself to be blamed. This is still a free country and anyone telling a fellow like me, "Brother, you're full of shit" better be good and ready to answer politely when asked if he'd care to say WHY!"

My wife and I never discuss this. Sometimes we talk about issues that politicians will pretend to care about but I have no idea who she votes for. When I was a kid I had no idea who my parents voted for or my friends parents voted for.
Nowadays too many people I don’t even know well just unburden themselves to me about this. I feel like Nick Carraway.

Uh, no.
Would you like to try again?
I wouldn't recommend it, given your track record. But then again, aren't you the cat that works in the Delaware Chancery Court that is working with dem activists to steal $55B from Elon and Tesla shareholders?
Good ol’ Caliunicornia…
Jesse Watters,Right wing mouthpieces says if he found out his wife pulls the lever for Harris its just like her having an affair. What else is she keeping from me! Beautiful relationship that must be.. What is wrong with these people? Sounds like she might get a good beating if he ever finds out? My Lord talk about trust and communication in a relationship...His 1st wife left him over an affair he didn't mention to her hmmmm. Hopefully no children there but no problem "every knee will bow in the end" at the great white throne...dues to be paid..
Such an indictment of wymyn today, that after 60 years of cheap birth control methods, they are still fixated on the "right" to kill the babies they were too dumb and/or irresponsible to prevent conceiving.
Worse that they are so ignorant about the laws, Constitution and Supreme court that they think Trump can unilaterally end abortion nationally, or that Congress would allow Roe to be re-instated via a new federal statute.
Based on what I've seen on the intertubes, confident, strong, independent women would prefer to forego having an abortion before admitting to being willing to follow the lead of a man.
It’s easy for me. She has vision problems, so I fill out her ballot for her. There is a form that you both sign in MT to assist someone else. Elsewhere, no doubt, it is ignored. So, our ballots were identical. Any Democrats you want to vote for? Nope! Esp not that slimy Jon Tester, and Kamalabama! Easy Peasy. She is convinced that Trump recognizes her, and waves at her whenever we see him. Maybe. I’m not going to burst her bubble.
I am sure that even if she weren’t a LLR, and I had to fill out her ballots, she would tell me. My last wife told me, when she (on rare occasions) crossed over to the dark side (and voted for a Dem). That’s what strong women do with their spouses. So, why do we think that Julia Robert’s is that strong of a woman in real life?
Doug Emhoff slapped the crap out of his girlfriend in public.
No but I know enough law to know that if he gets the money (now less than $55b I think) it comes from the shareholders. But why do you even care? Are you one of them?
Having a comment here start out "You voted for so and so" has little to no chance of redemption. The blog is better off not knowing.
Tom Arnold and Amarosa have the tapes.

She is on record, Clinton 2016, neither nominee in 2020. So seems likely she will declare after the polls close or the votes are counted.
