"That is something that I have not heard before — someone say that," said the little girl to Mike Tyson.

"When we're dead, we're dust. Absolutely nothing.... You're dead!... I want somebody to think about me when I'm gone? Who the fuck cares about me when I'm gone!"

With all due respect Mike, I disagree. P.S. Jake Paul is gonna mop the floor with you.

Classy.

"Who the fuck cares about me when I'm gone!" A little harsh when said to a young girl, but keeping it real. Which raises the Tyson Question: what good are fame and glory and success? Anything left in the ashes that we should care about beforehand?

I had no idea Mike Tyson was so considerate of others.

Was someone expecting raping, ear-biting Mike Tyson to be genteel, or something?

Mike knows Ecclesiastes.

Vanity, vanity, all is vanity.

Eccl 2:16
"For of the wise as of the fool there is no enduring remembrance, seeing that in the days to come all will have been long forgotten. How the wise dies just like the fool!"

Tyson's head is in killer-space before a fight. The sometimes thoughtful Tyson you see in interviews in peace-time is on vacation. He is an old man about to fight for his reputation and his pride, he is going to suffer a lot, even if he wins. For him the universe reaches a point of no return in the ring. He does not care about what comes afterwards. The universe after the fight is dust and darkness, nothing. There is only the fight, there is only the punch in the mouth.

“For over a thousand years Roman conquerors returning from the wars enjoyed the honor of triumph, a tumultuous parade. In the procession came trumpeters, musicians and strange animals from conquered territories, together with carts laden with treasure and captured armaments. The conqueror rode in a triumphal chariot, the dazed prisoners walking in chains before him. Sometimes his children robed in white stood with him in the chariot or rode the trace horses. A slave stood behind the conqueror holding a golden crown, and whispering in his ear a warning: that all glory is fleeting.” – General George S. Patton, Jr.

How many little girls are fans of Mike Tyson and also have been able to navigate their lives to be in a position to interview him? She wasn’t expecting that answer, but she certainly wouldn’t have gotten it if he didn’t think she was ready to hear it.
BTW speaking of legacies, I heard Sylvester Stallone introduce president elect Donald Trump as the second George Washington, because of the impact his presidency will have.

Tyson's always been a lowlife scumbag bully and rapist. A real piece of shit that the younger generations of libtards just love because he's sells dope now and they lack any coherent sense of morality.

Here's another Tyson apologist with a mind-reader's hot take. I'll give a different one: He's an immoral dirtbag with a vulgar mind and a convicted rapist's sense of propriety. Talking like that to a child is despicable. He's scum.

My thought exactly Dave. I was surprised to hear him say it. I would have guessed that he still had an overwhelming ego.

If you paint yourself white, you can return to Africa as an albino, and spend eternity as a mound of medicinal powder. You could do the same as an ornament in a Pride Parade, a bumper sticker, flying over a patio in a liberal state. A reproductive rites clinic can help your Planned final solution. A Green deal can be arranged to sequester your carbon pollutants. Just do it!

I wouldn't presume to have an opinion about this, but I really hope you are wrong. Also, I figure it's at least even money that the whole thing is as fake as WWE.

His life has gone through an arc. He was a hodlum as a younster, the greatest fighter ever (IMO), a felon who served jail time, still very wealthy, actor, world famous, married to an actress, divorced. DJT voter.

What adult thought it was a good idea to let an impressionable child interview a man with his history of violence? One could argue that it's a form of child abuse.

Iron Man Mike has no fucks left to give.

Since this is an exhibition fight tonight, I assumed that the fighters were told to not try and hurt the other fighter, just put on a show. But if Mike is in this kind of mood, we might see something interesting. (Especially if Jake Paul isn't expecting to get hit really hard.)

But this might also be a part of the act to gin up the viewership.

Pearls of wisdom, for those with ears to hear. Or those with those with ears left after fighting Mike Tyson.

I used to believe that. There are sites that used to exist that no longer exist. I used to visit a site commemorating the 6985th Electronic Security Squadron of the 1970s and 80s. All the pictures, stories people shared, and evidence of what we did are gone. A few pictures show up on related sites but most are simply gone. Maybe they're archived in some government data base but I can't find them.

Well said. Would have been better without the fucks - but they’re mandatory for fighters. In the contract.

Frank Zappa: On his legacy—from an interview recorded when he was ill, shortly before his death:
“It’s not important to be remembered.

The people who are worried about being remembered are guys like Reagan, Bush. These people want to be remembered. And they’ll spend a lot of money, and do a lot of work, to make sure that remembrance is just terrific!”

Interviewer: “And for Frank Zappa?”

''I don't care''

I don't take issue with those who characterize Tyson as a low class thug and rapist. That's what sometimes gives his words their impact. You don't look to Tyson as a source of wisdom, but there it is.......He's right about that legacy shit: You're rarely remembered for more than a few years after your death, and, of course, you yourself don't get to observe your legacy........The best way to have a lasting legacy is to kill a lot of people during your life. Genghis Khan, Alexander, Julius Caesar have inspired lots of movies and bios. I wonder who will be the preeminent mass murderer of the 20th Century. It looks like Hitler will get the nod over Stalin and Mao. That's kind of unfair to Stalin and Mao who killed far more people, but like everything else legacies are unfair.....Tyson might achieve lasting fame among his weight class. Who remembers the Brown Bomber? Ali is still celebrated, but soon the boomers will all have shuffled off this moral coil, and he'll pass into obscurity. Tyson, what with his rapes and ear biting, might be the heavyweight that posterity enshrines.

What humans are widely known today who lived more than 200 years ago? Not many at all. And lived 2000 years ago? Fewer still.

If you want a legacy that survives your death, better to produce a ton of children who also have a ton of children.

Were some weird funhouse lenses or angles used?

She looks like a little adult, and he looks pretty small himself, not like a heavyweight world champion.

Legacy is something that motivates people to act for others in place of a belief in an afterlife. Or at least it's supposed to be. Looking at people who actually do care about their legacy maybe it is all about ego.
