"Kamala Harris repeatedly pivots to Trump when grilled on immigration record in Fox News interview."

I'm linking to the Fox News report on the interview.

It was horrible to attempt to watch. I got about halfway through. I've been waiting for Harris to do a tough, challenging interview, and it was painful to watch the deflection and evasion. The main defense seemed to be to make Bret Baier look bad because he interrupted. Terrible.

DEI theory is not the problem. DEI implementation is the trainwreck. Anyone who had been in the workplace in the last 50 years knows people of color not only capable of brilliance but who brilliantly do their current job day after day. When they try to move forward, they are stopped by training or education requirements that are often unnecessary to do the job they want and are suddenly waived for another candidate when convenient.

Harris was flagged early on to fill a role and did so as directed. She filled the role needed at the time by someone else. She could have taken the time learn the job(s) backwards and forwards but chose not to do so. When Biden put her "in charge of the border" her office immediately pushed back limiting the scope of the job. If Biden had been competent, he would cleared up that confusion immediate but he was more interested in the optics than the facts. He just "knew everybody hated Trump as much as he did" and would fall into line behind him.

The problem was Trump was actually not a bad president. He made some some horrendous hires and lacked personal self control in comments, but he made some good decisions as well. The Abraham Accord was a possible new solution to the Middle East. It was allowed to languish for no other reason than the Biden/Harris administration had an inflated idea of their own importance.

Where did they get that? From being flagged early for jobs they were weren't qualified for and being passes along.

Gadfly - Harris put up with Brett Baier's rude questioning and interruptions while answering all questions given without advance knowledge.

Shorter Gadfly - "You answered every question Joe - er, Kamala!"

The point is not to catch the candidate off guard. It's to get the candidate to address the important issues. Going "full frontal" by asking an obvious question about the issue that Americans are most concerned about was intended to get her to state what her position and policies are and will be.

The idea that she didn't have a solid, prepared response to ANY immigration question is mind-boggling. What did she think he was going to ask her about-constellations?

She's just a middle-class girl who got beat up by racist, sexist ol' Fox News. But we will not go back!

They're not defending Harris; she's just an empty vessel. They're defending *themselves*, and their right to rule us all from the shadows.

Inga: "Harris did an excellent job. Much much much better than Trump if he were to have been interviewed by Rachel Maddow or someone on MSNBC or CNN, that’s why he is chickenshit to face a tough interviewer." The only argument our resident dullard can make is that Harris was better than Trump...at something that hasn't happened.

Inga, with all due respect, no one wants to hear about your ass.

It was a train wreck. Althouse is supposed to ignore that?
