"Kamala Harris repeatedly pivots to Trump when grilled on immigration record in Fox News interview."

I'm linking to the Fox News report on the interview.

It was horrible to attempt to watch. I got about halfway through. I've been waiting for Harris to do a tough, challenging interview, and it was painful to watch the deflection and evasion. The main defense seemed to be to make Bret Baier look bad because he interrupted. Terrible.

The point is not to catch the candidate off guard. It's to get the candidate to address the important issues. Going "full frontal" by asking an obvious question about the issue that Americans are most concerned about was intended to get her to state what her position and policies are and will be.

The idea that she didn't have a solid, prepared response to ANY immigration question is mind-boggling. What did she think he was going to ask her about-constellations?

She's just a middle-class girl who got beat up by racist, sexist ol' Fox News. But we will not go back!

They're not defending Harris; she's just an empty vessel. They're defending *themselves*, and their right to rule us all from the shadows.

“Cruelly neutral my ass.”

Not tonight, dear. I have a headache.

Inga: "Harris did an excellent job. Much much much better than Trump if he were to have been interviewed by Rachel Maddow or someone on MSNBC or CNN, that’s why he is chickenshit to face a tough interviewer." The only argument our resident dullard can make is that Harris was better than Trump...at something that hasn't happened.

Inga, with all due respect, no one wants to hear about your ass.

It was a train wreck. Althouse is supposed to ignore that?

Diversity (e.g. racism, sexism), Equivocation, and Indoctrination (DEI). DEI is a dogmatic model to recapture the past to mold modern sensibilities.

So, it was a "debate" transposing Kamala and Donald, but who will be fact checked, and will the target be the questions or answers, the color or sex of the persons.

shorter I-nag: How dare Ann Althouse wander outside of the collective left's obedient Trump-Hate cult. ... and form her own opinion.

No one cares what the mainstream media claims. If they did, they'd already be a Harris supporter.
Anyone who cared will watch clips. And there aren't ANY clips that make Harris look good

Greg The Class Traitor said...

No, he didn't.
My excuse for him is that the Harris team cut the whole thing short, so he didn't get to ask all the questions he planned on

Blogger Jeffrey Carter's take on Kamala's performance was that "She's annoying". Her facial gestures, body language, speech patterns--all make her annoying. I'm reminded of Obama's saying of Hillary, "She's likeable enough".
Hillary wasn't "annoying" [unless you were paying attention} and that's better than being annoying. And Hillary lost.

I burst out laughing and almost spit my coffee on my computer when she said "I have no pride". Wow!

Not getting to the point is the point!

Here's the thing, Inga. One of the main reasons that Harris will lose is because she has insulated herself with sycophants like you. I'd be willing to bet that after the debate, her handlers kept stroking her ego over and over about what a great job she did. You don't win by your people telling you what a great job you did. You win by your people telling you how you fucked up and giving you solutions on how to fix that. Everyone with half a brain could plainly see that Harris botched this interview. If you don't believe that just take a look at Althouse's post about Mark Cuban's take on the debate. He totally put up blinders and only saw what he wanted to see. That is exactly what Inga is doing. That is bordering on being delusional.

She was pretty cogent during the mostly peaceful St. Floyd protestations. It's the active suppression of her actual beliefs these days that makes her struggle. Pauses, redirects and word salad are stalling techniques.
