Over 1,000 people are missing and still unaccounted for in North Carolina alone and the media couldn't be bothered. The entire northwestern part of South Carolina and most of western North Carolina are untravellable. Media couldn't care less. Can't make Kamala look bad right before the election.

This is Kamala's Katrina.

Saw that a congressman was on X asking for generators for constituents on ventilators. Guess that’s how people are getting their vital needs these days. AndJohn Kerry says we need to get rid of that pesky 1st Amendment because there is so much misinformation out there. Is this Congressman posting misinformation? I mean we could all think FEMA & local , state governments will take care of citizen’s needs.

Well... first, you have to determine whether or not they're Democrats and likely to vote for you. That takes time, you know.

I feel very curious about what's coming next in the Mid-East. Israel has just struck terrifying blows against the terrorist groups which were Iranian proxies. And Iran seem ready to retaliate and order a fight to the last member by Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis. This is an attitude towards others which the Mid-East well understands. What will the terrorists do? - especially since they realize that they are literally in Israeli gunsights and that Israel is - choosing its next target. Who feels lucky?

The Harris campaign TV ads seem to be getting more and more panicky. They are preaching to the choir rather than trying to persuade.

tcrosse said...

You rang?

Original Mike said...

There's an ad where she says when she was a prosecutor, she never asked if you were a Republican or a Democrat. I actually find that quite shocking. What kind of mind goes there? I would have assumed it, until she apparently found it necessary to say so. But now, I don't believe her.

The ad runs a lot in Wisconsin, and it grates on me every time I hear it.

No, it isn't and never will be. She's just the VP and not in charge of anything related to disasters. All it is for her, is a missed opportunity.

I do notice, as I'm sure many others do, that nobody is stepping forward with a helping hand, from the Federal Government. Nobody taking ownership. They're plenty willing to work up mischief behind closed doors and spring it on the unsuspecting public, but when it comes to being constructive, it goes against their grain.

Just saw a vid of Walz flipping the bird to a student at the Michigan game who yelled Trump 2024. That's what happens when you are elected to high office in a one party state.

Why not smile at him and move on?

Jaq said...

OK, I flipped on a weather channel to check in on the Carolinas, where I have many close friends, and the forecast for the high temp for Boston was 67° F, not C, but F, and the color to indicated it was orange.

They just lie and lie and lie and repeat the lie and repeat the lie and repeat the lie. Is a high temperature of 67° hot? No, it's a lie. But if they repeat it enough, you will come to accept it.

That also makes me really wonder about him as a CSM E-9 in the Minn NG. Is that how he treated his enlisted folks?

"I actually find that quite shocking. What kind of mind goes there? I would have assumed it, until she apparently found it necessary to say so."

You do assume this? If so you are very different than a lot of people that go on and on about political "lawfare."

DJT first ran w/ promises of "locking her up."

And, DJT fired Comey because Comey (registered R for most of his adult life) overly used the government to go after HRC before the 2016 election.

When you put these things together you get DJT promoting the investigation of HRC, and Comey did do that, but it turns out Comey investigating HRC was not legit (you may call it the deep state run amok attacking HRC), so DJT used Comey's having gone after HRC as the official reason to fire Comey.

Anywho, I don't believe you when you say you don't know anything about politically motivated prosecutors.

Original Mike said...

A while ago somebody put together a side-by-side of 2 UK national weather service temperature maps. One was from like the 1970s and the other was recent. Both temperatures for the days in question were similar (maybe it was in the 80s in the south and 70s in the north). The old map was rendered in pleasant greens and yellow, the new in scary red and orange. Same temperatures, very different impression.

Speaking of sunrises, I watched about a half dozen sunrises (and sunsets) over the last two days. I was checking periodically on the SpaceX and NASA live streaming of the Crew 9 mission to the International Space Station. From the launch to the rendezvous and docking with the ISS, and the hatch opening and celebration inside. What an incredible show and brilliant engineering achievement.

It's been a while since I watched, and this time I had the time to follow it carefully. We take so much for granted and waste so much time and energy on such trivial or such dark matters when now we see not just one but multiple sunrises a day on our beautiful Earth below.

Be thankful. We live in wondrous times.

STANDING BACKSTAGE AT THE BEACON Theatre in New York, leaning against a crumbling brick wall in the dark, I could barely see Kris Kristofferson standing to my left. Willie Nelson was in the shadows to my right. Ray Charles was standing beside Willie, idly shifting his weight back and forth. A bit farther along the wall were Elvis Costello, Wyclef Jean, Norah Jones, Shelby Lynne, Paul Simon and respective managers, friends and family. Everybody was nervous and tight. We were there for Willie Nelson’s 70th birthday concert in 2003. Up from the basement came one of country music’s brightest stars (who shall remain nameless) (ED Note: . At that moment in time, the Star had a monster radio hit about bombing America’s enemies back into the Stone Age. “Happy birthday,” the Star said to Willie, breezing by us. As he passed Kristofferson in one long, confident stride, out of the corner of his mouth came “None of that lefty shit out there tonight, Kris.” “What the luck did you just say to me?” Kris growled, stepping forward. “Oh, no,” groaned Willie under his breath. “Don’t get Kris all riled up.” “You heard me,” the Star said, walking away in the darkness. “Don’t turn your back to me boy,” Kristofferson shouted, not giving a shit that basically the entire music industry seemed to be flanking him. The Star turned around: “I don’t want any problems, Kris – I just want you to tone it down.” “You ever worn your country’s uniform?” Kris asked rhetorically. “What?” “Don’t ‘What?’ me, boy! You heard the question. You just don’t like the answer.” He paused just long enough to get a full chest of air. “I asked, ‘Have you ever served your country?’ The answer is, no, you have not. Have you ever killed another man? Huh? Have you ever taken another man’s life and then cashed the check your country gave you for doing it? No, you have not. So shut the fuck up!” I could feel his body pulsing with anger next to me. “You don’t know what the hell you are talking about!” “Whatever,” the young Star muttered. Ray Charles stood motionless. Willie Nelson looked at me and shrugged mischievously like a kid in the back of the classroom. Kristofferson took a deep inhale and leaned against the wall, still vibrating with adrenaline. He looked over at Willie as if to say, “Don’t say a word.” Then his eyes found me. “You know what Waylon Jennings said about guys like him?” he whispered. I shook my head. “They’re doin’ to country music what pantyhose did to finger-fuckin’.”

What you’re witnessing this morning from the press is not some newfound commitment to honesty about the president’s condition, but rather complete rage that he didn’t do what he needed to in order to continue the lie they’ve been helping to legitimize.

Think about the coverup that was going on...

Every public face of the administration was either lying to us, fooling themselves, or probably some of both. But they weren't being honest, that's for sure.

Our "Hillbilly Elegy" Veep candidate does know, because he has never really lived in Appalachia, that people have always chosen to live along "cricks" in these mountains. When Tropical Storm Helene hit with its three feet of rain in the Asheville area, flash flooding blasted mostly remote, rural hollows trapping housing occupants. If searchers haven't found survivors by now their bodies are likely downstream in the Swannanoa River which reached flood levels not seen since 1791.

And Dixcus, above 90 IQ folks all know that politicians do not cause nor can they turn off hurricanes.
