Walz has the issue that tripped up Hillary Clinton in the 2008 primaries.

My son John just texted me this:
Here's the WaPo article, "Tim Walz is a bold, smart choice for Harris’s running mate/The Minnesota governor rightly argues that many progressive ideas are good and practical" by Perry Bacon Jr.

Did Bacon have a "Josh Shapiro is a bold, smart choice for Harris’s running mate" draft ready to go?

Yes, Republican will pounce on Walz's support for open borders and illegal immigration. Not to mention his support for the 2020 BLM/Antifa riots.

But since Kamala supports the same things, they'll just attack her. I think Walz will fade into the background fairly fast

Allowing illegal aliens to get driver's licenses is how the Dems get them registered to vote via Motor Voter. Scalia explained it all in a SCOTUS decision years ago.

If Trump loses, it will because of election fraud like this.

I read the PA S.CT. decision that was appealed to SCOTUS (cert denied) that allowed the Secretary of State to change PA law contrary to the provisions of the PA Constitution. One of the worst decisions I've ever read. Naked partisanship. That's why judges should NOT be elected. The NE way is the best and only way.

We are in such a dirty, fake place in America. Only citizens should vote. But the illegal immigrants we want replacing our roofs, working non-union, low wage factory jobs, and doing farm labor need a way to get around.

Obviously Democrats have flooded migrants in to allow them to vote. But the American consumer wants the cheap labor. They hypocrisy will be part of our eventual destruction.

Europe thought they were importing cheap labor, but quickly learned Muslims aren't as hard working as Mexicans. Sorry. That's the truth.

I guess they’d rather have the undocumented workers driving without a license and no documented identity, oh that makes perfect sense.

Tripping up Hillary in 2008 doesn’t mean it will be a problem for the Democrat player to be named later in 2024. There’s relativism to major problems. A permanent Leftie House majority via 10 million illegals ready to be counted in the census next year is a far larger issue than illegals getting drivers licenses and voting.

They are "undocumented," meaning they do not have the proper documents to be in the country legally. It doesn't mean they have no identity documents; they may have a driver's license, ID, or passport from their home country - or they may have jettisoned those, as instructed, to circumvent being traced and rejected at our border.

They are in the country illegally, which is why we all, including Sting, used to call them "illegal aliens" - they were aliens in that they were not citizens (there were also legal aliens) and they were here illegally. Getting pulled over without a license is trivial compared to that.

But getting a driver's license in a motor voter state can equal the ability to cast a ballot. That's not a problem for you?

The "worker" party of the "undocumented worker" phrase is also in question these days, thanks to Biden and Harris's encouragement to "surge" here, illegitimately claim asylum, disappear into the countryside, and start collecting benefits from the compassionate but short-sighted.

The craziest thing about US immigration are some of the truths nobody wants to say.

1) Democrats want to import votes.
2) Americans was cheap labor for jobs they no longer want to do.
3) Americans are not willing to pay more for goods and services that can be provided by cheap, exploited, illegal immigrants.
4) The US doesn't allow Central or South America to thrive on their own resources to the immigrants can stay put. (like Europe does to Africa).
5) Americans want their 401ks to rise, which requires evil corporate profits. Corporate profits increase with cheap labor.

All of this could be a controlled worker visa programs. If people want to come and work, fine. But the flood in the last four years has been for vote importation.

I struggle with this. Take "black jobs". White people don't want the jobs the exploited immigrants are performing. Do black people want those jobs??

As Americans we are very good at exploiting people for our own comfort. We just fight over who is going to benefit most from the exploitation.

I'm not barking up this tree. Illegal immigrants who work in the Midwest need to drive.

Harris and Walz reward scofflaws criminals (any non-citizen within our borders without a vis is a criminal) and punish those who obey the laws.

If, using your words, they are undocumented, then how do you know who is getting the drivers license and what it means? Progressives think it is great, because they are documenting this undocumented person (and registering them to vote, thank you motor voter), but you are just aiding fraud. Here’s an idea, how about you require them to obtain a passport and enter the country legally before giving them the right to drive in the country. If they can’t obtain a passport, then hold them until you can verify why it is they cannot obtain one.

Bavarian politicians always played Austria off against Prussia. Being a German Duchy, it was a training ground for intrigue.

As for culture Bavaria was the home of Richard Wagner, Bertold Brecht , Richard Strauss Thomas Mann, Max Planck, Mozart’s father, Rudolph Diesel, and recent military leaders include :Von Stauffenberg, Alfred Joel, Heinrich Himmler, Herman Goring, and Sepp Dietrich. Also Henry Kissinger.

“But getting a driver's license in a motor voter state can equal the ability to cast a ballot. That's not a problem for you?”

Having a driver’s license does not allow an undocumented person the right to vote.

https://bipartisanpolicy.org/blog/four-things-to-know-about-noncitizen-voting/

How do election offices verify voters’ citizenship status?
The process of verifying voter citizenship varies across the United States. The National Voter Registration Act of 1993 requires states to use a common voter registration form, which includes under penalty of perjury an attestation that the applicant is a U.S. citizen.

States verify voter identity and information using state and/or federal databases, such as the Social Security Administration or state departments of motor vehicles. By cross-referencing information that the voter provides against information provided by these entities, election administrators can ensure that identifying information submitted on voter registration forms is accurate and legitimate. This hinders those who may attempt to register to vote using fraudulent or false information.

What are penalties for voting as a noncitizen? Does voting by a noncitizen affect their immigration status?

Illegally voting in a federal election can result in a fine and up to one year in federal prison. Additionally, a noncitizen found guilty of this crime may face deportation and revocation of their legal status under immigration law. Finally, falsely claiming U.S. citizenship for the purpose of registering to vote may also result in deportation or denial of future immigration status.
Deterrence is an important factor in ensuring compliance with voting laws. The consequences for breaking federal election law can have a profound effect on noncitizens. They could face prison time and deportation for illegal voting as well as denial of future immigration status, including naturalization. The risk of identification and punishment generally deters the behavior.

Have there been documented cases of noncitizens voting?

The Heritage Foundation’s analysis of legal actions regarding election conduct found only 24 instances of noncitizens voting between 2003 and 2023. A study conducted by the Brennan Center for Justice analyzing 23.5 million votes across 42 jurisdictions in the 2016 general election concluded that there were approximately 30 instances of noncitizens casting votes. Illegal voting, including by noncitizens, is routinely investigated and prosecuted by the appropriate authorities, and there is no evidence that noncitizen voting has ever been significant enough to impact an election’s outcome.“

Encompassed in the term "illegal alien" are the facts they are not supposed to be here, are not allowed to be employed here, should not be drawing cash benefits here and so there fore do not need drivers licenses because unlike American citizens, they are not required to show proof of insurance. Auto insurance rates went through the roof in California after Democrats crammed this stupid licenses for illegals through the assembly. Because it is always the people who OBEY the laws that end up paying the price for stupid progressive policies that allow others to skate by illegally without following the black letter law.

It is only the exact reason western Europe is roiled with riots now over the huge crime costs imposed by waves of unwanted immigrants who do not work but draw welfare instead and see the people who lived there before they arrived as suckers/providers and victims to be exploited. We are also importing waves of unvetted criminals who don't share American values, don't like our culture and want to impose the shithole policies they fled on this land as well. We are a long way from Ellis Island.

Because progressives imposed these changes by fiat, without any of us voting for more illegal aliens, without us voting to give them licenses and voting forms.

Don't know what those "investigators" were looking at. I lived two decades in Los Angeles and I know personally multiple illegal aliens and paroles not eligible to vote who regularly cast ballots. In 2008, when fag Obama had the braindead swamping the polls, there were more than 30 illegals in line ahead of me. In a way I'm glad she picked Walz. Because it makes clearer the colossal divide between the Democratic and Republican tickets. The ultra-progressive left-wing vision for America. Versus a strangely populist moderately conservative with a dash of classical liberalism.

Minnesota has becoming an increasingly sh*t state with Walz steering it in the direction of California. Riots and resentment. Law enforcement officers sacrificed on the altar of Marxist pseudo-justice. Education as indoctrination. Tax increases that mean each year it becomes harder to make ends meet. My parents lived there for fourteen years. My brother is still there trying to raise his kids. I've toyed with the idea of flying up there to visit. With Walz in charge? Heck no.

This election is a referendum on Marxism. With Biden off the stage there is a real chance Harris-Walz could win. And I would find myself feeling like all the left-wing entertainers who threatened to leave the country under Trump. I don't want to live in a proto-Maoist state.
