That's just a dead leaf. Color change comes from cutting off the sap with the leaf on the tree.

Several of the maples (the leaves are still on the trees) in my neighborhood are turning red. I don’t recall it happening this early in the past.

It’s a bit of a soap opera, but the costumes are gorgeous and the story pulls you in. The actress who plays Woo has the lead role. So interesting to see her in this drastically different role.

I believe there's completely new race on in the sense of new topics. Kamala represents openly the rise of identity politics and the complete demise of the Dems as the party of the working class. She is the woman from the Turtle Island nation just as the shooter was probably a Turtle Island guy. I knew plenty of disaffected young men in the last ten years I worked, especially while I was at Radio Shack. They weren't for either party though they hated Republicans for openly being bad while they hated the Dems for being hypocrites. They didn't have God, country, family, sports, or hobbies. They had video games, girl friends, car racing, rap and a desire to stick it to the man. And I believe that the new settler colonial ideology has caught up all these young men and their girl friends. It's about the dispossessed and that's who they are. It isn't really about the causes of their dispossession like selling all the manufacturing to China and doing bad trade deals but it appeals to the feelings of the guys being mashed by those causes. JD Vance versus Kamala is a good fit for that struggle. But to fix problem we need to adopt the policies Trump has been pushing for - get energy independence, rebuild manufacuting, stop allowing Europe to disarm and count on us for a military they insult us for having, respect the police. These address"root causes of disaffection.

Well...in a break from both sleep and politics, I want to give a shout out to my dog, Maddy. We had to put her to sleep last Friday. She was a little known breed called Lucas Terrier (not to be confused with a 'Sporting' Lucas Terrier).
The. Best. Dog. Ever.
She was 2 months shy of 15 and filled our lives with years of smiles, love, and kept us young, as a strong, independent terrier will do.
We miss her terribly and will continue to do so for some time. RIP my buddy.
And now back to your politics.

Was in and around Minneapolis over the weekend. Stillwater is a great little town. The burger and fries at Howard's Bar was epic. Caribou Coffee is way better than Charbucks. The Mall of America is like Times Square. It is epic to see in person but I can't imagine going more than once. Before so nice and make Canadians look rude. Even the TSA folks were bright sunny cheerful and helpful.
The outdoor sculpture Garden at the Walker museum is off the hook. The Keith Haring Art is for Everyone exhibit was tremendous. The Minnehaha Falls had to be the most sloppily maintained dangerous Park I've ever seen. The spirit of live Free or die exists in many places, LOL
I really loved all the downtown architecture. Buildings from all different periods scattered eclectically around the downtown is like one giant sculpture Garden.
And best of all the state is full of beautiful strong Norge Valkyries.

This happened to us in early 2020 when Number One Son and family cut us off from their social media, just before COVID took off. Tried calling them tried texting, no response for about a month. Then the lies and false accusations started. Guess their handlers sent out the memo. He even told my sisters that they weren't allowed to share any pictures of his family with us. Hate makes you do stupid things.
Just saw a clip of world famous race hustler The Most Reverend Al Sharpton claim that Trump is afraid to debate Woke Salad Annie. The MSNBC contingent is hopeless. A bloodied Trump with his fist in the air is afraid to debate Harris? Sure.

I remember, while in training in Madison before we moved there, that Dane County had 'no fireplace days' when the county discouraged the use of wood burning fireplaces due to air quality concerns. We moved there a couple of years later and never saw anything about those regulations at that time or afterward so they just have abandoned that strategy.
