Biden's pep talk to the NATOids was actually pretty well written and delivered for an old guy. So it's clear that he can stand up and read from a teleprompter for 20 minutes on a good day.

It looks like there was some musical number, performed by US servicepersons in uniform, before the speech. FOX wasn't airing the audio, but those floorshows are usually pretty cringey; I'm sure we'll all hear it later.

Whatever it was, it should have been Yes We Have No Bananas

A funny story and entirely true. Years ago a childhood acquaintance, not a friend, but the younger brother of a friend died suddenly in an accidental electrocution. The visitation was held in a traditional Southern mortuary known as a funeral home. By said tradition, these are usually repurposed magisterial Victorian or Edwardian piles, and as such (they're quite rare these days, replaced with architectural nonentities with several large clear-span rooms) they were designed for families, not crowds. Consequently, a well-attended obsequy could involve long lines and long waits. Southern rites include the visitation, the ceremonial greeting of the bereaved with a handshake and a whispered word of comfort.

The visitation, that's what I attended in memory of the bother whom I hardly knew from Adam. Because of the attendance and the labyrinthine passages connecting outer doors to the chamber where the survivors sat in those horrid folding metal chairs, I had to shuffle along listening to piped-in organ music for 15 minutes -- music slow, low, and solemn, or so it seemed. With nothing better to do I listened attentively to that pre-recorded organ recital. It was larghissimo and transposed down an octave and to a minor key, but it was "Yes, We Have No Bananas" without a doubt.

a large rock, the size of a party barn
WSJ:He Didn’t Let a 25-Foot-High Boulder Get in the Way of His Maine Party Barn
Instead of moving it, Chad Francis built an entertaining space with a bar and poker room around the massive glacial boulder

Architect Rob Ervin was working in his Bangor, Maine, office on a snowy afternoon in December 2022 when he got a text from client Chad Francis.

Francis was at a nearby bar with his friend and builder, Justin King, and wanted Ervin to meet up with them. Ervin was about to say no—he had a client meeting a few hours later—when he saw Francis’ next message.

“We’re thinking about building a barn around a giant rock,” Francis texted. “We need your advice about whether it’s a good idea or not.” Then there was a pause. “Yes, we’ve been drinking.”

Nice story and suggestion, Quaestor.

I wonder if NATO has an anthem or march of its own. The EU has adopted Beethoven's You Know What from the 9th, IIRC.

Fungus can be very very beautiful. So are the recent pictures. But, this blog is about language and connotation. We like needed fungus in nature, but want to keep out bodies and soul clear of it.

Next picture of "fungus" should be tagged with "Democrat Politics."

Woh, is there some fungus afloat in that pic?

College educated white women are stubbornly going to vote for a senile corrupt old man, or his dingbat replacement out of nothing more than resentment. Their weakness will cause more war and death. Just like their commitment to abortion and infanticide. Plus, their pretend concern for minority women who live with violence all around them, and mourn the deaths of their young sons, and imprisonment of their baby daddies.

Also, they will not question voter fraud, while still claiming to love "democracy." It's nip and tuck. But there's a good chance we're fucked.

In 1000 years, history will tell the story of American college educated white women. Historians will debate their role in bringing down the short lived American Empire.

Prince Albert's Crystal Palace contained at least one large tree already in Hyde Park.

The building was moved after a few years and then burned down. As it was mostly cast iron and glass, I'm not sure what burnt.

Walt Disney's female villains were always jealous white women past their child bearing prime. The Evil Queen from Snow White. Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty. The Wicked abusing step-mother from Cinderella. Cruella de Ville from 101 Dalmatians. Even after Disney died, The Little Mermaid's evil pursuer was the overweight octopus bully Ursula. All Ursula needs is a pink pussy hat and she's Joy Behar.

And Disney didn't even write the original stories. He just illustrated them. But the themes are all about powerful women who don't want younger women to meet their prince and reproduce children.

Think about a woke Disney pro-abortion protests. Who would be chanting "my body my choice!"? Drizella and Anastasia. Cinderella's step sisters. They were pissed because the Prince didn't want to fuck them anyway.

But who loved these stories the most? Young girls. That's who.

So the new woke Disney has remade all these cartoons/films making previous villains now sympathetic. Their anger was and understandable reaction to their disappointment and abuse from men they loved, or fathers that abandoned them. That too, is also be very true.

And somehow, Disney and these stories, which created the female villains, kept the fathers in the background. They were out of town, or dead, escaping all blame. They were inattentive Homer Simpsons. Where was Snow White's royal baby daddy? He didn't come to save her? Cinderella's Dad really left her home with the Evil Step Mom? Or was he dead and blameless; his only guilt remarrying for lust?

Maybe they were already emaciated and the life already sucked out of them. With that I can only conclude it took a horny young prince to save Disney's Princesses.

Re: Disney

They have lost half of their stock value since the pandemic.

You would think that people would flock to entertainment like theme parks once things opened back up.

But people are avoiding Disney like the aforementioned plague.

What a disaster...

I read an article that mentioned Ian Brzezinski. Of course the last name is somewhat famous so I thought would check Wiki for more info. Some highlights from Wiki:

> "Ian Joseph Brzezinski (born December 23, 1963) is an American foreign policy and military affairs expert."

> "Ian Brzezinski is the son of foreign-policy expert Zbigniew Brzezinski"

> "brother of American lawyer and foreign policy expert Mark Brzezinski"

Experts? Made me laugh, especially since they have been key policy makers managing the demise of "Peace through Strength". Mike's a mere cheerleader in the family enterprise.

If you have checked Wiki, you know that Mika, Ian, and Mark are the children of Zbig Brzezinski, who founded the infamous Trilateral Commission. Mika plays house on MSNBC weekdays with hubby Morning Joe.

Are you even capable of basic reading comprehension?

David Rockefeller was the driving force, known entity and financial big shot behind the creation of the Trilateral Commission. No one gave a crap about Zbig who was just another academic and conversational "hired hand" for Rockefeller. Not unlike Michael McFaul of Stanford University that obambi used as his Ambassador to the russkis as a part of the long running globalist effort to squeeze the russkis, overthrow Putin and then break up Russia into 10 to 20 "pieces" for the west to waltz on in and exploit, as they did during the Yeltsin years.

Rockefeller told Zbig to operationalize the Rockefeller vision for the Trilateral Organization so Zbig did what he was told and was paid well to do it.

And make no mistake about it, the point was to eventually lead to a sort of EU arrangement with all of the key western nations captured within it. Certainly makes sense from their point of view.

Pitts: Yeah. Well because I'm an American before everything, and I look at it and say: Well, I used to see Russia -- Soviet Union, North Korea -- when they just make outrageous things. You know, like when North Korea can't keep the lights on, they say 'Oh it was some faulty power thing,' I kind of hate that kind of stuff. They had four years -- my own party had four years -- you know, this was a wreck in slow motion, and they had four years to find, out of 350 million Americans, one person that could take the place. and here we are, the day before 'school' trying to do the homework and replace a guy who's got a neurodegenerative disease."

My point on the Brzezinski klan was they are all experts, at least in the eyes of Wiki, excepting poor Mika. She's a mere fellow.

Per Wiki: Mika Brzezinski is a visiting fellow at the Harvard Institute of Politics.

Ben Affleck & Jennifer Garner’s daughter, Violet, demands mask mandates, reveals she contracted post-viral condition at LA public hearing

"Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck’s eldest child revealed that she contracted a post-viral condition in 2019 as she demanded mask mandates in LA hospitals during a city board meeting on Tuesday.

Violet Affleck, 18, shared her experience with recovering from viruses in an emotional plea in front of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, saying “the county must oppose mask bans for any reason.”

During public comments, a section where residents have a chance to ask questions and advocate for a cause, Violet introduced herself before urging the board for the mandate.
"

Never mind that the CDC's own study showed limited effectiveness for masks in preventing transmission of SARS-type viruses, and Ms. Violet says she contracted a post-viral condition in 2019, which presumes that she caught a virus (unlikely to have been COVID as of any time that year).

Sounds like a play for masks and lockdowns ahead of the next election cycle.
