"Looking anew at Harris, I see something different from what I once did: a person who stumbled as a candidate and vice president..."

"... but who kept fighting anyway. I see a woman who struggled to compete for power against her peers, buried under an array of vague and unstated expectations about whether she gave the right answers, had the right ideas, was smart or specific enough. Like any woman of ambition, I deeply relate to these experiences. As strange as it might seem, I have come to think these experiences could make her the ideal candidate in a surreal campaign against a man who is so certain of himself, who admits to no mistakes, who has no humility and who, for many of us, is utterly unrelatable...."

Kamala Harris is impostor syndrome personified. "I was a little black girl in America during the era of forced busing!" No, your parents took you to Canada and raised you. "I'm a capable prosecutor!" No, you sucked Willie Brown and put a bunch of low-income black men in jail. "I'm married with children!" Your husband is visiting his gay friends in San Francisco, and "your" kids are only his kids.

Way more fake than Obama or Clinton, and far less talented. There's no lift for her with vote fraud. Actually, trying to install her would be great for the revolutionary movement.

Does Kamala admit mistakes? Or does she utterly deny all responsibility regardless of the public record?

As we all know Kamala was appointed to the ad hoc post of immigration czar. In that capacity (or incapacity, we're talking about someone even more underwhelmingly able than Joe Biden himself) she did absolutely nothing because the job was to do nothing for as long as Joe Biden could possibly get away with doing nothing about the most extensive and damaging instance of government-abetted criminality since Japanese Americans were illegally expelled from their homes and shipped to concentration camps in the desert.

Got the Cali Dem nomination for Senator (THIS.. THIS is her best achievement in for life)..
dropped out of the Pres race without receiving a single primary vote in ANY state..
was a black female that Biden's team picked BECAUSE she was a black female..
was 'border tsar'..
WASN'T 'border tsar', there was NEVER any such position; it was ALL a puton..

This is silly. Kamala brings nothing of substance to this contest. She is inconsistent, uninformed, vapid. She has the office she has because she is a black (in parts) woman. Biden said so. She is the perfect candidate for her party because she is empty.

The question must be What have you done? A vice presidential candidate can get by with a résumé that could be contained on a postage stamp and still have room for the glue, and in that sense Kamala Harris was almost as qualified as Hannibal Hamlin, and almost as industrious and only slightly less conscientious. However, having failed to do anything to restore the shattered integrity of America's borders -- the one job she was given (Keep denying it, Inga. Cement your reputation as a lickspittle disseminator of lies.) apart from banging a gavel in the Senate (really, she could not even bestir herself to travel extra-deluxe class to Ciudad Juárez and have a look-see) how does she answer that one essential question a candidate for the presidency must answer?

Obviously, she cannot and will not. Instead, Madame Veep relies on journalistas like this Lydia Poltroon to drivel about coconuts.

Yeah, she's just a poor little wimmin, fighting the powerful men. Gosh, she's so brave despite all the big strong bullies.

Good God. You can be sure the DNC/Editors of the NYT/WaPo all sat down and figured out the best way to win over voters for "Kam". And they decided the "poor little woman fighting against the patriarchy" is the way to mobilize Dumbo females to her side.

Trump has been censored, shot, spied on, impeached, and arrested for fake crimes. Everything he's done since August 2015 and been accomplished with the entire Establishment arrayed against him.

Harris has had the entire Establishment on her side since Willie Brown picked her to be SF DA. They gave her the AG job, and gave her the Senate gig, then the VP slot. Now, she's been given the POTUS nomination, despite running in 2020 and getting zero votes.

Like Hillary, she really accomplished very little on her own. Without Bill Clinton's weeding ring on her finger Hillary would've done nothing. Without willie brown's support Harris would've gone nowhere. All the feminists hated Palin, but Palin becaome AK Governor on her own, and she was popular in 2008 despite McCain and her team sabotaging her.

But it doesn't really matter. At this point the Democrats could run a cardboard cutout for President and all the D's would vote for it. Because "The Machine" ran biden and will "run" Harris. She's a zero, and it doesn't matter.

The diminution and decay of the mainstream news media just accelerates from one presidential election to the next. Every Democrat is always the love child of FDR and Mother Theresa. Every Republican is always Satan incarnate, even the milquetoast Romneys and McCains. What value do these "journalist" presstitutes add to anyone's understanding?

Press releases on Twitter, straight from the Harris campaign's Mouth of Sauron, are as illuminating as anything these people write.

Skeptical Voter said...

I'll buy the Michael K/Monica Crowley story around the idea that Obama would have preferrred to have someone other than Kamala. There was going to be plenty of room for Obozo to wheel and deal at an open convention. But both Slow Joe and Dr. Jill detest Obama for not endorsing Joe as the nominee in 2016. It is true that Irish Alzheimers means you forget everything but the grudges. And Joe had a grudge against Obama. So the quick "coronation" of Kamala by the Bidens was just a way to put a spoke in Obama's wheel.

Although Ms. Harris was sold to the public as a "Black female" she's not dark enough to be an Oreo--Black on the outside, white on the inside. Just one more bait and switch by Team Obama-Biden. Of course Kamala might well be a watemelon--environmentally green on the outside and pure Red on the inside.

Did the Democratic Toady offering up this predictable column on how now Kamala is just so great include a cookie recipe? I want Kamala's favorite cookie recipe.

Strangely, all of the comments are now italicized. Italics on Italics off.

Jamie said...

Without reading any other comments - well, that's just dumb. I like this candidate because in her fundamental flaws, she's Everywoman? Why does that qualify her to be president? Do we think Everyman is presidential caliber? It's a stupid sexist trope that every woman is better than any man, and that a woman's "struggles" make her even better than that.

I seldom agree with our resident reactionary sexist rhhardin these days, but - it does strike me that as we consider a woman as one of only two truly possible presidents, it's worthwhile to consider what makes her different from Everywoman. The things that make a man seek what would be for virtually every man on earth an impossibly high ambition are not qualities that appear often in the female psyche, but that are important to the task: he must have an unusually robust, almost supreme self-confidence, a nearly (if not actually) psychopathic disregard for concerns about individual others (because there are too many others - you can't be worried about what they'll think or want to do or even, possibly, actually do), a skin like rhinoceros hide, and a degree of practicality that has little or no regard for how anyone will feel about any policy.

Think back: who are the great presidents? Truly? If you say "Obama," come up with something he did that was actually brave, that was actually counter to what those who elected him wanted him to do - because those things, ISTM, are the mark of truly great presidents, good and bad: they acted against their electoral interests. FDR, for instance: I think the Great Leap Forward - I mean the New Deal - was a terrible mistake that extended the Great Depression. But he certainly bucked his advisors and the common run of those who elected him to enact it.

So I guess I subscribe to the Great (Wo)man view of history and am waiting for a Thatcher to appear on our political stage: some woman who will take events by the lapels if not the throat and risk being anathema to her own allies because she'll cost them voters. And yes, I realize the risks. I have just enough faith in our system to believe we can survive a woman who is (read this in Rex Harrison's voice) "more like a man," without losing our fundamental freedoms to her vision-cum-woke insistence that any opposition to her is simply sexism.
